how would you know if the pasta in my teeth needs to be repastad? does it have an expiry date

Normally metal fillings (Amalgam) tend to last longer as compared to the "Tooth colored" ones (Composites) there are a lot of factors to consider with as to how long your restorations will last inside your mouth:

1. Your oral habbits (brusing and flossing regularly helps extend your restorations)

2. Skills of your dentist who did the restorations/fillings

3. Brand of restoration used

Ideally its is best to have your dental check up at least twice a year so your dentist can assess the current state of your tooth fillings, this should be part of his/her routine check up besides the usual tooth cleaning. Normally if you start feeling sensitivity or pain on the filled tooth, there is a bigger chance that your filling might already had a leak, hence dental caries (tooth destruction) can occur underneath.

With the indulgence of @Oral Specialist, I would like to answer the following questions:

I suggest you contact your dentist ASAP for a phone consultation if he/she hasnt resumed practice yet. This is to ensure that any possible delays/complications are addressed early.

The supporting structures of your teeth need to time to recover from the effects of the movement brought about by the orthodontic treatment, hence the need to wear retainers after treatment to prevent relapse/recurrence of the malocclusion.

Can gums go back to its normal shape if nagkagingivitis?

This depends on the extent of the gum infection. If the supporting structures of the teeth (e.g. bone, ligament, etc) are likewise affected by the infection, like in periodontitis, expect that the gums will recede (exposing the neck/root of the tooth) when the inflammation has subsided.

Best to visit your dentist ASAP for a thorough evaluation & diagnosis.

I hope this helps. Stay safe!
