shinta
Another question, this one's from me:My wife had her braces inserted years ago. We can't go back to her dentist because his place's too far... sa sta mesa pa. We consulted a dentist friend and she told us she can have the braces removed but my wife would have to use a retainer and it would cost P10T... question is: can we forego with the retainer and just have it removed? Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Oral Specialist
shinta. It depends. Retainers are used to prevent the teeth from moving back to where they were when the braces were last adjusted. This is usually kept in for a period of six months with a monthly checkup within that time. Since it's been years from her last adjustment, the braces have served as an impromptu retainer. It's likely that the teeth have already adapted to their current position and do not require retainers. So unless the teeth are still misaligned, you can have them removed with no ill effects. If they ARE still misaligned, I suggest you consult with an orthodontist for possible treatment options. Quote Link to comment

Oral Specialist
dj_flip03, Yes, the procedure costs 5k per tooth. The reason for this is that it is a more involved procedure than the usual extraction. Incisions have to be made, and bone has to be drilled into, as well as he tooth. Safety precautions and care considerations are also doubled. I believe it's worth the trouble to go through the operation rather than suffer through days of agony tho. And yes, I offer a 20% discount to MTC members. You can see more details in the Membership Benefits section. Quote Link to comment
Oral Specialist
hotheat, There are many ways to get the teeth whiter. The easiest way is to use the commercial tooth whitening products available in the market. They will make your teeth whiter but the effects won't last as long. The more effective way to do this is to have your teeth bleached in a dental office. Not only does it last longer, the dentist will make sure all of your teeth are evenly whitened. So if some of your teeth are darker than others, after the procedure they will have an even shade. Quote Link to comment
