Linux Anybody?

Recommended Posts

On Apache 2.2.x

My website runs the latest Apache 2.2.11 on Virtual hosts .... my auditor requires that all browsers (IE, ff, Netscape, etc ) will not be able to cache documents ...

Modifying the pages using HTML Meta Tags is trabahoso and will have to set specifically for each browser type

http://www.mnot.net/cache_docs/#IMP-SERVER

This lead me to control caching using the HTML headers and/or

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_headers.html#header

Module expire

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_expires.html

Please advise...

The problem is limited lang yun usage sa rescue mode.not all commands are allowed.

Pano kaya to mga sir?

It works on a live cd. I tested the setup in an HP Proliant system. 3 disk on a raid 5 setup. Went as far as removing the drives and transferring them to a similar server with similar raid controller in same order. I booted on the live cd and mounted the raid 5 array and an external HDD. Don't do rescue mode. Use a live CD.

^^ano ang server ninyo? naka-xeon na may malaking case? or yung simpleng desktop lang? why not get another hard disk and format that into a new clean install of centos tapos ay i-mount mo na lang yung old hard drive later? raid 5 ha? hmm.. limited rin ang alam ko sa raid 5 but di ba dapat marerecover nyo ang laman ng naka-raid na HD? although yung steps hindi ko pa nasusubukan.

hehe, hanggang raid 3 lang ang nagagawa ko eh, masnakakatakot but the big hard disk real estate is worth it.

HTH

I was thinking of disk druid. pwede kaya yun mga sir?

Bro, i tried it before. booting the live server on live CD. ang nangyayari hindi na natuloy yun pagboot. initializing lang then may mga error na parameters na hindi namin mabasa kasi nasira din ata yun scripting. puro boxes yun nalabas sa startup tapos ang mababasa mo lang failed tsaka ok. after non magrerestart na yun server. in short hindi siya natuloy sa pagboot sa live CD. sa rescue mode lang siya nagiging ok.

@limprulezzz mag dag dag ka kaya ng isa pang hard drive sa server mo and do a fresh install and see kung pwede mo ma boot fully on that additional disk and try to transfer the files.

@limprulezzz.. what he said :)

another suggestion, why not mount a burner (cd or dvd burner) and then write the files? mukhang may topak ang USB eh :(

oh.. oo nga pala, hindi ba pwede inetwork ang folder ng mga files? or better yet, have you tried mounting a network shared folder from another unit (kahit desktop lang) tapos dun ka magbackup ng files mo.

whichever suggestion, you need to do a clean install of linux or change your hard drive.

-------------------

isa pang suggestion para sa topak na USB :P instead of booting from a live CD, try booting from a LIVE USB. There are instructions on the net on how to go about it.

Naku sir, sobrang expensive ng hard disk. SCSI tapos branded pa na IBM. I'll try to look for suppliers o better kung may mahihiraman nalang. mahal talaga yun mga ganon na HD eh.

too bad kung malapit lang kayo i can lend you a couple. Actually it's Seagate. Tinatakan lang ng IBM. Our purchasing group used to buy IBM branded ones and I discovered a Seagate with similar specs. Tested it in our system and It worked hehehe good luck on that issue. I can't do more test coz im stummped with debian not including broadcom firmware in lenny. And i have 50 blades to deploy.

paging LINUX EXPERTS

I have a live CD and just tried it today

mabusisi sya ng konti not like with some distros

pero super bilis sya compared to XP and some linux distros

will try to install it on a PIII 1Ghz, 256MB desktop PC (naka install XP ngayon, pero super bagal, d ka pwedeng mag launch ng tatlong applications ng sabay sabay)

sana mag work
