nonito donaire jr leaves top rank, joins golden boy because according to his wife rachel, "Nonito was playing second-fiddle to Pacquiao, and the frustration of being denied spots on Pacquiao's undercards."

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao got himself another ‘disciple’ in newly-crowned World Boxing Council welterweight champion Victor Ortiz.

American boxer Ortiz thanked Pacquiao for showing him support, as he edged out compatriot Andre Berto over the weekend at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket, Connecticut.

“I actually talked to Manny Pacquiao earlier, and Manny, thank you very much for your advice man, thank you,” Ortiz said in Philboxing.com.

When asked what the Filipino champ advised him, the 27-year-old replied: “He (Pacquiao) said that I’m more powerful than he (Berto) is; I’m as quick if not quicker than he is, so I (should) just stick to my game plan and listen to my coaches."

“I just did as he said and listened to my coaches and here we are with the green belt,” Ortiz added, also thanking Pacman’s trainer Freddie Roach.

Bob Arum is much much worse than Don King....this is boxing mafia at its best..Pacquiao keeps on fighting either old has beens or one dimensional fighters. Nevertheless, i am still hoping that Mosley will be able to connect one hail mary punch that will send the congressman from sarangani into retirement..pweh!!!!

if pacquiao could do what mayweather hasn't done, yun yung mapatumba nya at ma-KO nya si mosley, that would be a bragging rights for manny. laking inggit lang siguro ni floyd, jr. at dahil dun, baka pumirma sya ng di oras ng laban nila ni pacquiao.

Pag nanalo si pacquiao via Tko some experts predict floyd will make another excuse. Floyd is Floyd.
