agentjackbauer
Huh? Im for Pacman all the way but I dont see why PBF would duck Pacman. PBF is all about dollar signs and a fight with Pac means huge money. Edited June 15, 2009 by agentjackbauer Quote Link to comment
bubuy
atty, i think by pbf fighting on sept 19, there would be no chance to schedule a fight within pacman's calendar itself.. Edited June 15, 2009 by bubuy Quote Link to comment

jerzz
Watched the fight of Cotto yesterday. Manny can take this guy. I was unimpressed. He's slow. Even if he outweighs Manny by 10lbs come fight night, there is no way this man can hit Manny, the way Manny's been moving the last few fights. I'd rather Manny fight him at 147 than Sugar Shane at 144. Cotto is not the same eversince Margarito destroyed him. He is not the same Cotto who beat Mosley in 2007. But Mosley is not the same Mosley who almost lost to Mayorga when he faced Margarito. The question now is which Cotto will show up against Manny? Quote Link to comment

Is the Cotto prior to the Margarito fight the same one that will Manny face? We'll have to wait until the middle of November (which is the announced month for the fight). Quote Link to comment
ravv
tama si agentjackbauer, it was posted in the news (from an insider) ticket sales are slow kaya postponed. hehe... tama si arum, mukhang si manny na talaga ang marketable ngayon. as predicted by fred roach kaantok lang mayweather vs. marquez kasi pareho counterpuncher. as per arum, malabo nga daw matuloy manny vs. floyd kasi una economics, baka gusto ni floyd kanya lion's share. but more importantly, hindi daw lumalaban si floyd sa "real" threat. kaya nga daw si manny ang favorite ng ring magazine kasi dahil sa quality of oppenents that he'd been thru compared to floyd. imho, due to a lot of trash talking of floyd sr. and jr. they are putting themselves in a situation of "more to lose" than manny kasi they are self proclaming themselves. thus, in effect putting unnecessary pressure on their shoulders. eh di ba pag pressured ang boxer hindi relax pagdating sa game plan? agentjackbauer
Ang gusto lang naman ata ni Pac at Arum is to have one more fight before the year ends. Fighting Cotto in October as orginally rumored is out of the question coz Cotto's cut from the Clottey fight is gonna take time to heal. So ayun, November na ang target date ni Arum. Rumors abound though that with the slow ticket sales of the PBF-Marquez fight, GBP and Arum just might go for the PBF-Pac fight agad, although that would mean PBF reneging on his fight/contractual commitment to Marquez. It is possible though that they might give Marquez some step-aside money but this is unlikely. Naisip ko nga lang na kung ako si Marquez, it makes sense to accept the step-aside money on the condition that I will fight the winner between PBF and Pac. atty, i think by pbf fighting on sept 19, there would be no chance to schedule a fight within pacman's calendar itself.. dragonei
Kung totoo na mabagal nga ticket sales ng PBF Marquez, it seems nga that it is now a new era of boxing. Totoo nga na manny is the most sellable fighter right now. People are getting tired of the trash talking punk, who would not fight anyone whod threaten his record. Yung kay Cotto naman, mukhang nagOK pa lang yung dalawang campo, but there is nothing final about it, until magkapirmahan ng kontrata. Kasi pwede pa din na si Shane Mosely pa din labanan nya. Thats the good thing about manny, he will fight whoever you put in front of him as long as the price is right. Manny never makes excuses. Sa mga nagsasabi na Manny is ducking marquez for a third fight, after na muntik ng di matuloy laban ni hatton, pinag-aralan ng kampo nya if they could arrange a pacquiao-marquez 3 after the juan diaz bout. Floyd on the other hand, andaming palusot. Kesyo me 3 talo na si pacquiao, kesyo di sellable si moseley, kesyo galit siya kay arum. The more this guy talks, the more it sounds like cluck cluck cluck. Bumenta lang yung huli nilang laban dahil kay Oscar at Hatton at J Diaz ang nagdala ng hometown crowd. Full house yung Mosley-Margarito Quote Link to comment

wizard23
sa tingin ko before, close talaga ang laban ni jmm saka pacman. pero i think a 3rd mtg between the two will be lopsided in favor of MP. gumaling na talaga si Manny. he's not the same that JMM fought in their 1st 2 fights. sigurado KO agad yang si JMM! dragonei
I am for the Pacman all they way, pero kung pagsasabayin nya training at ang kampanya, siguradong matatalo siya. Floyd is a very intelligent fighter, and manny has to match that. Matagal tagal na paghahanda kelangan nya both mentally and physically. Sana huwag muna siya buyuin nina chavit at ng iba pang pulitiko riding on his coat tail. Marami pa namang pagkakataon si Pacquiao maging pulitiko, he can still be a congressman kahit uugod ugod na siya, but he wont always be at his physical prime to beat the best out there. If Pacquaio beats floyd chicken, the debate is over! in the mid 60's to the 70's it was Ali, in the 80's it was sugar ray leonard, in the 90's it was de la hoya, in this decade, it has to be pacquiao Quote Link to comment

Yes, even as I am a diehard Pacman fan. Why? To scale the highest peak that no other boxer has done before. 6 world titles in 6 weight divisions! From flyweight to welterweight! Pacman can take this guy. He's slow (now, after the Margarito fight, he has lost something). Purse split at 65-35 or 60-40. Nothing less. Quote Link to comment

shafeeq96
Pacquiao in the driver’s seat of boxing world http://www.gmanews.tv/story/165167/Pacquia...of-boxing-world It seems that Golden Boy Promotions vice-president Eric Gomez is making some noise nowadays. He is acknowledging Pacman as the new boxing era's Oscar De La Hoya. Too bad, Pacman is penciling Cotto as his next opponent which means TOP Rank will be the sole promotional outfit for this match. This leaves Golden Boy Promotions out thats why he is pushing Pacman to fight Mosley or a trilogy with Marquez. :goatee: Quote Link to comment
uaeboy25
5 Reasons Why Manny Pacquiao would beat Miguel Cotto Top Rank Promoter, Bob Arum, has recently stated that he is working on a match up between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto. The terms are not yet agreed upon, but its possible that the fight can happen as early as Nov. 14th. Assuming the fight is made, here are 5 reasons why Pacquiao would be victorious over Cotto. Speed – Its an old boxing adage that “speed kills” and right now no one has more speed than Manny Pacquiao. Its not just that Manny is fast with his hands, but as seen in his match with Oscar De La Hoya, he also has fast feet. Cotto was able to keep up with Shane Mosley’s hands, but doesn’t have the quickest pair of feet in town. He is often caught against the ropes and that would play right into Pacquiao’s speedy hands. Wear and Tear – Cotto took a brutal beating against Antonio Margarito and even though he got by Joshua Clottey, he still showed signs of weariness in the later rounds. That would be a sure fire way to lose against a top conditioned athlete like Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao would apply relentless pressure that Clottey was unable to do to finish the job. Cotto also backed away in the later rounds against Shane Mosley, if he does this against Pac-man its lights out! Chin – Cotto was knocked down several times at 140 pounds and one of the main reasons he moved up was that it gave him more strength to take a punch. If he comes back down to 143 pounds to face Pacquiao, some of that weakness may resurface. Meanwhile Pacquiao hasn’t been stopped in over ten years and has a proven ability to take a punch. Skills – Since Manny’s loss to Eric Morales several years ago, he has improved significantly. He has learned to knock opponents down with either hand whereas before he relied heavily on the straight left hand. Cotto has great skills but has shown vulnerability when faced against a pressure fighter. This lack of ability could be a major factor in the fight. Trainer – many casual boxing fans don’t seem to realize the importance of a good trainer. However it’s the trainer that sets up the game plan and studies the opponent’s flaws for months before the fight takes place. Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, earned his second Trainer Of the Year award for the two perfect game plans against Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton. On the other hand, Miguel Cotto has had much turmoil in his camp and split ways with his long time trainer just before the fight with Joshua Clottey. Will Cotto’s camp be able to put together a strategy like Freddie Roach? The answer is most likely a resounding No. Quote Link to comment
