dragonei
kung titignan nman, aAnhin mo ngang belt, if it fought on a catch weight, di sya legitimate welterweight fight. anyway still it will be a tough challenge for Pacman, and kung makaya nya si Cotto, definetly it will add to his long resume and regarded as one for the ages. kaya yun, pero delikado talaga, di walk in park ang laban with cotto kahit pa, di magandang resulta ng mga past na laban nya. Cotto has good technical skills, but notice that this guy throws a power punch flat footed. So I really dont know if he can really hurt manny. Plus malambot masyado kilay nito kaya laging napuputukan. Quote Link to comment

The_Blade
^^^^ Isipin mo na lang, what would drive a person to actually pound his skull as a way of making a living? Quote Link to comment
jerzz
Pinu push ata ni gacal na maging title fight According to Wbo President Paco $150,000* (P7.5M) babayaran ni Manny na sacntion fee. What do you think guys? *Hindi ko lang alam kung may mga hidden charge yan kasi $400k computation ni Bob Arum Edited July 29, 2009 by jerzz Quote Link to comment
dragonei
si royce gracie ser.... at iba pang UFC fighter.... Even if you are right, Gracie would have been an exemption but not necessarily the rule. So in the end pera pera pa din yan. Isa pa, very young pa lang ang MMA as a sport, at di pa ganun karami ang sikat na fighters dun unlike sa boxing where there are a lot of superstars who get paid 6 or 7 digits per fight. The most one gets sa MMA is 800 thousand dollars. Manny is already sellable, there are a lot of opportunities for him to make money if he choses an opponent na panonoorin ng tao. He could actually campaign in 140 or 135 to gain and all the belts, and he would not have a problem cleaning those divisions. But at the same time, nobody will want to see those fights happen. Bukod kay hatton, sino pa ba me pangalan sa 140 division? Sino ba sila Juan Urango? Timothy Bradely? Si Amir Khan siguro ayus pa, pero he is no match kay manny. Cotto is a great fighter, and manny will have his hands full on this one.
DCRJ
Any die-hard fan of Bruce Lee such as me will immediately likened the speed and skills of Filipino Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao with the legendary martial artist. Bruce Lee's philosophy is about flexibility which, in his own words, 'the ability to adapt like water'. "Empty your mind, be formless like water, if you put water into a cup it becomes the cup, put water into a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow, water can crash. Be water my friend." Manny Pacquiao has the ability to adapt to every opponent whether big or small as seen in two of his last fights in the form of a much bigger Oscar Dela Hoya and a slightly bigger Ricky Hatton in which Pacquiao demolished both of this elite fighters making them look like amateurs. Bruce Lee on the other hand has demonstrated his real-life skills in his film 'Game of Death' with a much taller opponent in the form of Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Manny Pacquiao has proven Bruce Lee's philosophy that the smaller guy can overpower a bigger and taller opponent. In Filipino layman's cry 'wala sa laki yan pare!'. Manny Pacquiao's physique almost have the same physique with the legendary martial artist (photos below) http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz274/dcrjreloaded3/spo1b.jpgManny Pacquiao http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz274/dcrjreloaded3/The_Way_Of_The_Dragon_1972_Bruce_Le.jpgBruce Lee The expanded wingspan (scapular muscles) of both Manny Pacquiao and Bruce Lee came from decades of dedicated training. In Filipino layman's term, those wingspan is known as 'palikpik'. It's confirmed that Manny Pacquiao is also a fan of Bruce Lee as seen in videos inside his apartment suite in Los Angeles with a huge poster/painting of the legendary Bruce Lee hanging at his wall. ixnay
Ayaw daw ni Cotto na maging title fight kasi magbabayad siya ng sanction fee na $400,000 (P19.5M) sanction fee is only $150,000.. Quote Link to comment
boydapa11
Quote Link to comment
boydapa11
Cotto has good technical skills, but notice that this guy throws a power punch flat footed. So I really dont know if he can really hurt manny. Plus malambot masyado kilay nito kaya laging napuputukan. even if he throws flat footed, it doesn't mean it doesn't have enough power to hurt. cotto weighted in He's last fight 146 lbs, so there will be no problem for him to cut off 1 more extra pound, He's the more natural welterweight, between the two. Pacman is in clear disadvantage, cause it will not hurt much Cotto to get to 145 limit, but we could bet that Pacman will not just be standing in front of Cotto. But what will the critics say, after Pacquiao beat a 143 lbs Cotto?. will just see wha uncle Freddie will do, and question will be who's gonna be the aggresor in this fight. both are known in putting pressure to their opponent. there's still a long wait. federicuger
Quote Link to comment
john2004
