Hong Kong Disneyland

Recommended Posts

IMHO, Hong Kong has an efficient mass transportation system that you do not have to join tours just to discover hongkong. However, just be ready for long walks also, so i suggest book a hotel that is almost beside or near the mtr station. Just follow the pinoyexchange link above or just google "pinoyexchange hong kong" and you will find everything you need to know there.

Sa HK Disneyland, you should go after lunch (mahal pagkain sa loob) and catch the parades at 3 and 7 then the fireworks at 9. It is small enough that you will see everything in that time frame.

problem is if you have children and they wanted to enjoy the rides plus all the shows half day maybe a bit tight. Would be difficult to enjoy all of these specially if mahaba ang pila.

I guess if you're on a tight budget for food then the solution would be to have a heavy breakfast/brunch and proceed to Disney. Take a late lunch/snacks inside the park but bring along some snacks and water with you just in case you go hungrey. I don't think they are that strict as to bringing foods. Late dinner outside. At least you only spend for one meal inside ...

Go there on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

There are less people querying for rides early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

While the hotels in HK Disneyland (Hollywood & Disney) is a bit more expensive, it is worth it because:

1) You can book a ticket at the hotel & avoid the query at the park

2) The rooms, beds, & LCD TV (2 for each bed) are bigger than other hotels in Hong Kong.

3) The breakfast buffet is top rate.

4) There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the park.

5) It would be a very memorable experience for your kids.

I've been to HK Disneyland twice: the first time was a few months when it opened, the second time was just a few weeks back.

I reco to go there on your own instead of joining a tour. The only add-on that a tour gives you is the hotel pick-up. But HK Disneyland is connected to the MTR so its not a hassle to go there on your own. Besides, the dedicated MTR line is already decked out with the Mickey Mouse-shaped windows, Disney figurines, and plush couches.

When going to Disney, better to go on a weekday so you beat the weekend crowds. Start early so you can enjoy the rides without the long lines. Some rides take an hour of waiting time. Watch out for the distribution time of Fast Passes, where you get to legally "jump the line." The best rides would have to be those in Tomorrowland -- the Space Mountain and the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

What sets HK Disneyland apart from all the other Disneylands out there are the shows. There's lots of them. Don't miss The Golden Mickeys and The Lion King. These shows are Broadway / West End levels already (and most have Filipino performers! Galing!). And, of course, you absolutely have to catch the "Flights of Fancy" parade on Main Street at 4:00 PM and the Fireworks Display at 8:00 PM. The key to catching these attractions and getting the best seats and vantage points is to come in early, like 30 minutes before showtime. Come in late and you'll be denied admission to the shows or, if its in an open area like the parade or the fireworks display, get your view blocked by heads.

Just came from HK Disneyland. Stayed at Disneyland Hotel and it was superb! Panalo talaga sa bata ang Disneyland hotel with the maze garden and the disney princesses loitering around the lobby. And the many activities that the hotel offers. May WIFI pa sa lobby, but if you stay near the door of your room, kahit sa loob ng room may WIFI ka masasagap.

The breakfast is the best. So worth it. To see your child so so happy upon seeing the mickey mouse gang going around the restaurant. Not to mention the waffles that are shaped like the head of mickey mouse. Cheaper pala to buy the breakfast coupon in the reception area when you check in, rather than walk in ka lang sa breakfast resto nila.

And of course, I don't need to mention the Disneyland park itself. Obviously , talagang talo ang HK Disney kaysa sa U.S. coz maliit lang sya and dami from mainland china. But at least, mas affordable sya and wala ka na problem sa Visa.

Airfare: $250 average

Room: HK$2600 per night

Breakfast buffet: HK$218 (ata) per adult and HK $170 (ata) per child

Park : HK$398 (2 day pass for adults), HK$250 (2 day pass for kids)

MEals at the Park : HK$50 per meal per person

Cheaper ang Disney Hollywood Hotel than Disneyland Hotel.

Hollywood hotel , as the name suggests, has the hollywood theme. Disneyland Hotel has the Victorian theme, so the hotel itself is shaped like a castle.

Heard the rooms at Disneyland Hotel are better than Hollywood.

Aside from that, I don't know what is the difference.

Maybe some MTC members who have stayed in Hollywood hotel can give feedback on the hotel.
