Been wanting to visit Cebu for the longest time and this thread is making me want to book a flight ASAP! A few questions for those who've been recently — how crowded has it been compared to a few years back? I heard it's gotten really busy especially around the weekends.

 

Also, for first-timers, what's the best base — Cebu City proper or Mactan area? I want easy access to both the food scene (lechon is a must, nakaka-miss na yung kwento ng kanin na may lechon na may puso) and the beaches. Is it better to stay 3 or 4 nights to cover the main spots without rushing?

 

Any recent tips from those who've been there this year would be greatly appreciated!
