If I arrive sober: Know who's home & who's not.
If I arrive late & tipsy: Drink 1/2 liter of H2O w/ an alka seltzer in the kitchen.
If I arrive before dinner & tipsy: go straight to my room & drink the H2O w/ an alka seltzer that I bought at a convenience store there.
If I arrive home drunk: I won't remember.

There was this fellow named Ephraim Proque. As a mnemonic, he said to his class, remember, with an "R" - Proque!
Years later, we meet at a crowded mal at the height of Yuletide shopping. We recognize each other & as he saw I was struggling to remember his name, I remembered his mnemonic.
"Yes, yes... with an 'R'... ah! How are you Mr. Prek Prek?" :boo:

It happened & does happen.
When you love someone more than your own life or life itself. When it's her life you want to save first, foremost & more than anything else in the relationship, you won't think about sex.
You'll think about life.

Even my own mom once asked me, upon meeting a (then) fiancee of mine... "I wonder what she saw in you?"
Must be mostly luck.

After dinner, I'm going out for a drink....

That's why I travel light... the final destination allows no check-in or handheld baggage.
Many times, it's not death that people fear.
For some, tis the prospect of accounting for things done on earth. I believe sin brings with itself the punishment. For those who were deprived of rewards & just desserts in this life, it awaits us in the next.
For others, tis the separation from beloved people & things in this life. I believe there's something better awaiting all who cross into the pearly gates.
When we are born, we cry while others laugh.
When we die, others cry. I hope by then that it's my turn to laugh.
I'd hate it if people play "Oh, My Papa!" I'm not a biological dad in the 1st place. I'd like them to play happy music ranging from Beethoven's 9th to the Soundtack of Dirty Dancing. Alas, it won't be my choice for sure but the thought of my funeral tickles me.

When I count my blessings, sometimes I want to "cash in my chips," until a voice in me tells me, "Marami kang utang pang babayaran!"
That's when I become all the more thankful in life, for having a credit line I didn't even apply for.
Another thing that tells me life is good is when people tell me they pray for me. Then I know there's a 24/7 watch over me. I only wish i can pray for all of them too.
Even if God doesn't exist, it's simply have great to have people who care that much.
Finally, when I can still share, because I have more than enough. That's when I know life is great.

For the gift of receiving & giving life & love
For the gift of having & being able to generate choices for myself & others
For giving each day our daily bread
For the forgiveness of my sins as I forgive those who've offended me
For the times I was spared the tests & given tests that You know I could pass
For the answers to my prayers, whether affirmative, negative or put on hold
Thank you for being there.

An Eastern parable...
A long time ago in a land not too far away, there was a manic depressive tyrant that threatened to behead all practitioners of religion unless they are able to give him a ring that will make him sober whether he's happy or sad, look forward to the future when glum or bored, be cautious when excited over an opportunity or challenge...
His mother, a religious practitioner, forged him such a ring on which these words were inscribed:
This too shall pass.
So he chopped her head off anyway...
Just kidding. Of course the religious of the land were spared. :thumbsupsmiley:

She first has to catch my attention... then I ask what was it that caught my attention.

Only when we're in another country.

I once told a girl this:
The only sure source of my happiness is myself. I don't rely on others to make me happy. In the end, my happiness is my choice.
She answered: that is the worst I've ever heard from another person.
I've always wondered why that was so.

Happened so many times, considering my frequent LDRs.
I just let them tell me about it.
Then I let them talk to me about it.
Then I let them analyze the guy to the minutest detail.
In the end, they always conclude, they're better off with me.
What? Me worry? :thumbsupsmiley:

I once had three at the same time, until they found out about each other.
One wanted to k*ll herself
The second one wanted to k*ll me
The third wanted to k*ll the two others & keep me for herself.
I ended up with none of them (serves me right).
Never again did I do such a foolish thing. I don't plan on a repeat or recommend it to others. It was a major pain in more ways than one can imagine!

I second the motion...
In the Visayas, my vote's Bacolod City
In Luzon, well, maybe Tagaytay or Legazpi City.
