  1. kahit naman stay healthy si barry ang prob. yung dalawa di sila nag sasabay pag playoff na. last yr si tmac dis yr si yao. anu kaya next yr both kaya??? he he he

I agree, everyone knows that a team needs to be healthy upon entering the playoffs, sad to say that both Yao and T-mac are injury-prone... Im hoping this year they can both go through the playoffs @100%, if they do then Houston will have a better chance of advancing in the playoffs....

  2. rumor has it that the pistons are interested in t-mac?

dunno where this is coming from but both sides have denied this rumor.

Interesting... I dont think this will happen though... T-mac is an amazing talent, but he is injury-prone... the Detroit Pistons on the other hand are a solid group that consistently plays good ball... I dont see Dumars taking this risk, he wants a "no star " team approach... but then again , maybe Joe wants to try something different. If this deal is going to happen, Im sure Rip will be included... :thumbsupsmiley:

  3. Barry will be valuable if ever the Rockets get to the playoffs... he knows what it takes to win and will give the Rockets a consistent three point threat.... thats IF he stays healthy... I can imagine Yao getting double teamed in the post then kicking it out to Barry, or T-mac breaking down the defense and kicking it out to Barry when the defense collapses on him... All the Rockets need to do is to stay healthy, T-mac and Yao are all-stars... they can get the job done... hope they enter the playoffs @ 100% this coming season. :thumbsupsmiley:

  4. if this isn't one of the greatest, this surely is THE gutsiest performance of ANY athlete EVER.

The Japanese brought Ju Jitsu to the Brazil, and Yuki Nakai brought the Brazilian modification to Japan. Yuki Nakai is the first Japanese BJJ black belt, and the story how is that of (you guessed it) legend.

Yuki Nakai was sent to the VTJ tournament as a representative of Shooto, the lightest competitor in the event. Yuki's first match up was against UFC 1 finalist Gerard Gordeau, a 50+ kickboxer from Holland. Yuki overcame his size advantage by relying on his already excellent ground game. But in that fight he was inflicted with an injury that would affect not only his career, but his life. Gerard decided that it would be a good idea to gouge Yuki's right eye in order to make the match more even in his favor. He failed obviously, but he didn't in permanently blinding Nakai's right eye. After 4 rounds, Nakai finally secured the heel hook. This was just the first fight of the night.

Yuki Nakai was treated with a 250+ pound wrestler in Craig Pittman as an opponent. The size was an obvious factor in the fight, but as a true tactician Yuki displayed superb technique over strength in getting Craig in a flying armbar. The 155 lb fighter, the smallest in the tournament, has just made it to the finals. His opponent? A legend himself: Rickson Gracie.

The fight was fairly competitive, but Rickson's size and technique were too much for Yuki when he fell to an RNC late in the first round. The term "samurai spirit" and the word "heart" are thrown around much on the MMA message boards, sometimes undeserving. But if we to choose one person to fit that definition above all other fighters, it has to be Yuki Nakai.

Yuki, impressed with Rickson's Jiu-Jitsu, went to Brazil and started training. He became the first Japanese black belt in BJJ, and his school, Paraestra, altered the Japanese MMA scene in bringing in a new breed of grapplers. His school has branches all over Japan, with their most recognizable team member (to westerners at least) being Shinya Aoki.

    Yuki Nakai is a legend.

  5. NY and NJ will be fighting hard to clear cap room to sign Lebron via 2010... Lebron is not only one of the best players in the league, he is also one of the most marketable guys in the league. The Cavs will have many sleepless nights come 2010. :thumbsupsmiley:

  6. @13Nails,

JMM won the second meeting with MP... thats my opinion, if you disagree with me then thats your right... "sige nga kung nanood ka talaga?".. How old are you man? I dont even have the slightest idea what you are trying to do... this would be the last time I am going to post in this thread... Your opinion is MP won the second fight... good for you; but my opinion is he did NOT. :thumbsdownsmiley:

I said MP won the first fight... what was it about my posts that made you think that you know boxing more than I do?... Im not going to debate you about this, you think MP won the second fight ... ok, ok.... but to me he lost, and thats my opinion... Im no expert but that is what I saw. Which coverage did I watch?... is that even relevant?

Of all MP fights, this is the only fight that I commented on... because all his other fights were great. come on man, nothing personal... Its just an opinion. You are entitled to yours too. Dont judge me and say that I dont know the sport of Boxing... because I never judged you and I never said anything personal about you.

But make no doubt about it, If you push me the wrong way, I would definitely push back. peace man... next time respect the opinion of others. :thumbsdownsmiley:

  8. come on.. Hagler(31 yrs old.) is older than Mugabi 25yrs old. pero tinalo ni Hagler si Mugabi! Convincingly...

Nate campbell 36yrs. old. and Casamayor 36yrs old. matanda narin pero champion sila ngayon.. si Jerry Penalosa dapat retired na pero champion din ngayon...

    lame excuse dude...

i am not a fan of Manny but i know how boxing works.. sa scoring etc...

ilang beses nanamin pinanood yung kay marquez V. Manny.. even yung first fight! Manny won convincingly! Give Manny the credits dahil nung first fight nila... manny was Robbed bigtime! umamin yung judge na nagkamali sya ng score.. kaya natalo si Manny!

Lame excuse for what? havent you read my posts? I said I am not a fan of Marquez, I just stated that he is old... or maybe you want me to use the more politically correct term in that Marquez is older? come on man, Im just stating my opinion. Manny was robbed? I agree man, their first fight shouldnt have been a draw... MP won that fight... but their second fight is a different story huh?... so the judges CAN make "mistakes"?... whew... :hypocritesmiley:

  9. mas maganda ngayon at nanalo sya kay diaz.. imagine? first in asia! mas magandang record yan...

Thats good news, I hope if ever MP and Marquez meet again , MP beats old man Marquez "convincingly". I dont bet in boxing fights... I do bet in Billiards and Basketball, but never in boxing because when fights go the distance sometimes weird things happen.

  10. yes we all saw the fight...and we all know who won....it was manny... hanggang magunaw ang mundo si manny pa rin ang nanalo sa laban na yun...

True, the Boxing record books has MP listed with a win, the scorecards say so, right?hehehe... footage of the fight is the only consolation for Marquez. Im NOT a marquez fan... just a boxing fan who enjoys decent fairly-judged fights. Im sorry I stirred up conversation about this fight, we should all be talking about Diaz... MP was awesome in that fight.. he won that fight...and this time there is NO doubt. I enjoyed that fight from the opening bell up to the decision. :thumbsupsmiley:

    anyway, that is your opinion.

Actually I always pay close attention to MP fights... as I said, all his previous victories are very impressive... even his first fight with Morales where he lost, I was also impressed with his gutty performance and the way he beat morales in their next two fights was really fun to watch and i was proud MP won... but the second fight with marquez is a different story... it would have been great to see a third bout because MP clearly lost but the Evil Arum pulled out a shocker, a split decision victory for manny... I believe manny can beat marquez, but on that day... on their second fight... he clearly did not. anyway thats over and done with, as one poster in this thread said... the results are final and no amount of complains will change it... it doesnt make it right though... that is if we talk about fairness and objectivity in Boxing. Im a filipino too, and I enjoy MP fights. peace :thumbsupsmiley:

  12. No amount of comment can ever change the outcome of Marquez-Pacquiao part 2, MP won by split decision and its final. Marquez and his fans can cry their lungs out but nothing will change. If Marquez will be lucky, he will still get a chance for a rematch some time in the future.

    sad but true...

  13. Pacman is one of the biggest draw in boxing today.

Marquez cannot beat Pacquiao via scorecards in Nevada or in America.

Since Marquez cannot knockout Pacquiao then he has no chance to win.

The Americans will protect their money making star

Thats the reality, live with it guys :)

    Nothing personal just purely business

I agree... dirty money making business. :thumbsdownsmiley:

  14. Pacquiao - Marquez discussion again? Manny won that fight... not overwhelmingly, but he won it, and there's no cheating there... he won it fair and square! ;)

Come on man... Manny lost that fight... Manny had nothing to do with the " cheating"... he fought, he lost the fight... and went home with the "win". Arum is the new Don King. Mannys previous victories are well deserved... but not the one with Marquez. Thats just my opinion man... you are entitled to yours. :thumbsupsmiley:

  15. wala nang makalaban si pacman

Marquez will fight Pacman even in street clothes, after he was robbed of a much deserved victory in their last fight... He even visited the Philippines and asked Manny for a rematch.. but Evil Arum would have none of it... We all saw the fight , and we all know who won. Marquez. Maybe when marquez gets a liitle older manny might have the balls to fight him again.. because he would have the advantage by then. Closure is absent in boxing... :thumbsdownsmiley:

  16. The Utah Jazz need a vet... someone with confidence... Deron,Carlos and Okur are already a solid core... but I need the Jazz needs to shake things up a bit to go to the next level. Im a big fan of jerry sloan, he makes the game so simple and the jazz are always in contention... I am waiting for the Jazz to have an electrifying combo guard... I would love to see AI in a Jazz uniform... even as a sixth man. Dont think it will happen though. :thumbsupsmiley:
