  1. Problem with working in a call center if you have a college degree is that many companies outside the call center industry will not and will never hire past call center agents.

Their reason: Undisciplined or difficult to discipline; can be trained to do things but can not think out of the box.

Also applies to higher ranks. The only people who work in a call center that can be hired in other industries are those in IT and HRD. Operations Managers and other high ranking managers in operations of a call center do not matter outside the call center industry.

  2. This thread is for those who:

    1. Would like to share a bad experience in job application

    2. Would like to know what companies have bad practices

    3. Would like to know what the bad practices are

Let me start off with MGC Group of Companies. This company sells Masagana Gas (LPG) and is putting up several LPG stations in the country.

When I applied there, the guard was telling me and other applicants that they are always the first to raise prices when there is an uptick in the world markets and the last to bring down prices when the world market price goes down.

Witht the recent shortage in LPG, I was wondering why the guard would tell me and other applicants about that.

    Hmmm.

The opening was for business development manager. Since the job entailed market research and feasibility studies and contract drafting, I was asked to produce some samples of contracts and studies. So I did.

The GM who interviewed me did not question the sample contracts but wanted to see some improvement on the sample feasibilty study which is not directly related to the company. He wanted to see more depth.

    Hmmm.

I didn't see how it applied to his company but, okay, I will try to deepen the study. So I did.

The whole time of the conversation he mentioned thrice that his company was a "small company". Now I didn't mind that he conducts business at an old residential house converted to an office. But saying "small company" thrice is hinting that he is not prepared to agree to anywhere close to my asking/expected salary.

    Hmmmmmmm.

After improving the same study, he now says he wants me to do a feasibilty study and market research for his new LPG converter kit and find financing companies who will take on the product for customers who could not immediately afford it.

And THEN, he mentions, that ONLY AFTER I come up with the research, study and financing companies who will come on board, will he discuss salaries.

    He wasted my time.

I am not working for free. He could easily say that he is not satisfied with my studies and reject my application after I submit the studies.

He then gave me three days to comply.

I didn't do a damn thing and withdrew my application.

Such does not speak well of the company.

  4. Don't look now.

DX seems poised for a return.

Vince McMahon ordered HHH to take the night off but defied McMahon and went out to Pedigree John Cena after Shawn Michaels & Cena were defeated by the annoying Spirit Squad.

Looks like HHH & HBK are now both on Vince McMahon's hitlist. And with the recent displays of the familiar DX "Suck it" gesture, will DX resurface?

  5. In the 80s, Toyota faded out as the Silverios and their Delta Motor Corp. went bankrupt. The economy was at a standstill in the first half of the 80s. But in 1989, Toyota Motor Phils. brought back Toyota to the Philippines, starting with this Corolla

  6. Dubbed as the most dependable car of the 80s in the Philippines was the Mitsubishi Lancer. Known also as the Box Type, this model was produced by Canlubang Automotive and later by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines from 1980 to 1988.

Shown here is its bigger cousin, the Mitsubishi Galant which ran from 1982 - 1988.
