  1. Know your job, worry about "your" job, aim high...

I find that no matter how many backstabbers, gossip mongrels, ass lickers etc... as long as you do your job, you'll be ok.

    Less talk, less problems...

The workplace practice overseas is very different from the Philippines. You worry about yourself abroad and do not worry about others because they do not worry about you. When it comes to bread and butter, in here there's no such thing as "friends". We also don't have loyalty award programs...and yes, we have more backstabbers here... =)

  2. let me be the first to congratulate you on your newest acquisition.  titanium would last longer than rubber and if more versatile when it comes to fashion.  the blue dial is a nice choice but you didnt mention about the availability of this color previously.  maybe you could take some pics of it in daylight so we could the natural blue color tone in sunlight.

again, congratulations, and wear it in good health.

Thank you. I am very happy with my purchase. It's very thick and it's a stunner. I would be wearing this watch with pride and joy. :thumbsupsmiley:

I will surely post some pics during the day for you.

  3. post the black dial with rubber or titanium stap.

i have preferrence for black or white faces.  good luck.

    Hi guys.

I just got home, guess where I've been? hehe

I haven't got time to read the manuals yet so if you look at the date, it's on the 17th....

Here are some pics I've taken a couple of minutes ago...

I bought the Seawolf blue dial titanium strap.

  4. which of the two are you planning to get?

Actually, there are more than 2 to choose from but what I want is the one with a Titanium bracelet.

With the Avenger Seawolf, there are 5 versions:

    Black Dial with leather strap

    Black Dial with titanium strap

    Gray Dial with titanium strap

    Yellow Dial with leather strap

    Blue Dial with leather strap

As much as I want the "yellow", I think it looks too casual... :(

How about gray with titanium strap guys?

  5. After more than a week of surfing to get more information, visiting watch forums, checking prices on line , calling Authorized Distributors etc...I think I found a shop on line where I can get this watch cheaper and also a Distributor in Sydney has given me a good price.

The link below sells the Breitling Avenger Seawolf Titanium bracelet for $2079.00 USD (P116,000.00)

I'm not sure if I mentioned that when I called Lucerne in Manila, I was given the price of P188,000.00 fixed price/no discount.

    http://www.worldwatches.com/product.jsp?uid=4081

If I order from the U.S. via the internet, it's a bit risky, I might have problems with Int'l Warranty and I have to pay Customs Duty Tax, Goods & Services Tax and shipping cost. All up, I would have to pay P116,000.00 + P25,500.00 = P141,500.00 ($2517.00 USD)

I called an Australian Distributor and was quoted a price of $3633.00 USD, the lady wouldn't give me a discount. hehe

I called another Australian Distributor and was given a price of $3103.00 USD and I started to haggle. I told him I could get the watch on line and all up including postage+taxes, it will only be around $2500.00 USD. The sales staff said, he could give it to me for $2370.00 USD!!! (P133,194.00)

I'm going there tomorrow to try it on and look at other Breitling models. I'm quite happy with what I did which proves that if you're resourceful, you get good deals.

A couple of Seawolf Images by the way....

  6. Yes.  The law is commonly known as the Dual Citizenship Law.  All you have to do is to take an oath. There is a downside, though.  Once you regain the rights and privileges of being Filipino again (e.g. the right to vote), you also have to accept the obligations of citizenship.  For instance, in times of war (God forbid), you can be called up for service.

I am not familiar about being called up for service under the obligations of citizenship under the dual citizenship law but if this is the case, It is very unlikely that this will happen. This is usually the last resort after the goverment has used all it's war assets.

I am more worried if for example you have dual Australian-Philippine citizenship and civil unrest breaks in HK while you're shopping. haha..

The closest hosting country in terms of distance which in this case will be the Philippines will have to help you. In my opinion, I would prefer to be evacuated by the Australian government.

  7. Looks like it's more expensive to get the Breitling in Manila. I called Lucerne Glorietta and for the Avenger Seawolf, it's P188K. Difference of 20K if I buy it in the US.

I'm still going to look around and see how much is it in HK. Forget about Sydney, coz it will probably be more expensive than the rest!

  8. In short majority of the Filipinos are ignorant that is why when they go overseas to work and go back to the Philippines, you can see that they didn't change their ways but except they start complaining more...

In my own opinion this ignorance is caused by the lack of education of our people and you can blame the poverty to the Government.

Anyway, back to the topic...I think balikbayans worked hard for their money and they reserve the right to show in what way they want. It could be by wearing those thick gold necklace, imported rubber shoes etc etc... haha but that's their business...as long as they dont complain to others when they're in the Philippines, that's fine.

People complain, it's human nature...I always complain when I'm there but I don't complain to others, I keep it to myself because I do not want others to feel humiliated or bad. If I don't have anything good to say, I keep it to myself and that's what others should do, not just balikbayans but other people in general.

Everytime I'm there, I try to keep a low profile, I don't even tell my some friends that I just came from overseas, I just tell them that I live in the province.

And I could also attest that some filipinos I've met here complains a lot that they're so annoying. I think people should accept what they have and what the other people or country can provide. In short be flexible and learn to live with what you have and what is available. We should all be grateful for what we have and if we have something to give to the less fortunate, please try to give a little of that fortune.

  9. good luck on the search for your holy grail and just let us know if you need any help.

At the moment I am certain that I want a good watch that would last me and that would be Breitling.

The one I'm looking at is the Breitling Avenger Seawolf. The price is not bad, it is actually one of the affordable Breitling you can buy. It is $2845.00 US which is around P160,000.00!
