  1. as i've always told people who want to get into the hobby.

"wala sa camera yan, nasa mata ng photographer."

as for your b/w you have two choices, a) you can do an in-camera b/w setting or B) post process, usage of an image editor to do your b/w conversion.

  2. Just paying it forward.

    As for your pic:

  4. I agree with nooblet here. I'm very particular of where the hair is placed to the point that I ask the stylist to move there hair where I want it or I ask the model to do it for me or at times I move the "lost" strand of hair myself.

I also see that the model has the tendency to slouch a bit. Try making her aware of it.

But what's important is that you and the model had fun during the shoot!

  5. Sori for the late reply compadre, some of my classmates told me hu recently bought there 350d for 32thou at quiapo. But i'll never reco anyone to buy there better buy at the Canon shops just to be sure. 400d cost just 42thou na lang maybe u cud check out Canon shops. I bought my 350d @ Canon dzone SM northedsa last june for 36thou.telling you bro it's a good investment msakit lang sa bulsa sa una.

Actually, there are shops there that are reputable and give out the same warranties as the ones in the malls. Quiapo, through the help of photographer John Chua has become a photographer's haven. You can basically find almost any equipment you might require for your shoots in quiapo. In fact, most professional photographers buy their stuff at the shops in Quiapo.

photoshop is the industry standard for post processing or pang-ayos ng pics. maraming filters na nagkalat sa internet for PS.

  7. pnoize,

The shots I posted were taken with my D70s. As for the Hassie, well... I figured it would be a novelty item for me at the moment. Maybe I should invest in a bigger lineup of lenses for my Nikon system and try to land jobs that can eventually pay for a brand new hasselblad instead of a used one :) Thanks for appreciating my work too :)

You got my support on this decision.

  8. Canon EOS 400D is 45k with the kit lens.

add another 5k for the 50mm f/1.8 II

You cant go wrong with that combo :)

I agree with this suggestion. The 50mm f1.8 is a very nice cheap lens that can give you very nice depth of field and the ability to shoot in low light situations.

  9. pnoize,

Someone beat me to that particular mamiya :(

There is another one going for about 19k. 90mm f3.5 and a 6x4.5 (YUCK) back. (would have wanted the original 6x7) its a RB67 Pro-SD and it looks good too.

    I found also a Hasselblad 500 c/m for 45k. It comes with a 6x6 back and an 80mm f2.8 Zeiss 2x coat :)

    What would you get? :-s

at that price, i'd go for the hassie!

  10. pnoize2k4,

Mamiya 2nd hand is about 20k with about 3 lenses and a prism finder.

    9k for a tripod

9k for a meter and Im set.

    any other suggestions?

A Hassie 503CM is about 90k for the kit second hand.

While I will always drool for a Hassie, practicality tells me to go with the Mamiya. Since it already goes with 3 lenses. 90k is a bit too much for me for a film camera. With all that was offered to you, 38K and your set!

  11. Wow naman, adik.

I passed by at hidalgo last week and damn, isang kalye na puro camera at photo labs ang maikikita mo. It was my first time and I am overwhelmed sa dami ng cameras!

I've got a working TLR, a Rolleicord III. Had to search the net for a manual on how to use it. Medyo nakakadisorient at first pero you get used to it. I like the DOF on the Rolleicord and I like how it teaches you to be patient to get the right shot. :)
