what boomouse was probably trying to say is, to be come a famous photographer, hindi pwede yung ala-chamba. you have to know how you took the photograph. knowing the aesthetic and technical aspects and planning even before touching the shutter button.

ang sa akin, shempre kung baguhan ka puro experiment ka muna. trial and error, ganun talaga lalo na dSLR ang hawak ngayon, swerte lang at may EXIF para malaman mo later on kung pano nagawa yung chamba na shot. hindi na siguro kailangan magsimula pa sa film para maging magaling na photographer, pero mas nakakatulong kung ang disiplina ay katulad sa film photography. yung tipong kada frame na kukunan mo eh kailangan maganda para hindi sayang ang oras at pagod.

mas konting chamba shots, mas maganda.

saka nyo na isipin yung gear. madali na yun. importante malaman kung paano imaximize yung gear nyo ngayon.

Hi there... Im planning to buy a Digital SLR Camera.. Im just a begineer.. Still dont have any idea on photography.. A friend of is selling Olympus E-410 and Canon 350D. Dont know what to choose... guys, maybe you can help me with this... Coz im planning to buy this week... Whats your view on this one, which is better...???

get the 350D. You'd have more accessories available and the canon reliability.

here's what i observed lately. Yes, photography has become a fad once again. dSLRs have become the latest fashion accessory of the year. People buy and treat it like it was a point and shoot without realizing the intricacies of the art. i'm not saying that only Pro's should buy but at least LEARN how to use it.

agxo3 is right. Shooting without really understanding what's happening is not the way to do it. Take lessons, ask photographers, READ! Like in any art from, it takes patience, time and effort to understand the basics. Even professional photographers will tell you that it's a continuous process of learning.

the_who: you just cannot "get" one. good models who do nude session have to trust the photographer, that probably means, they've worked with photographer often enough to know that he is professional enough to keep their hands where it should be and take professional-looking images.

however, if you really are in dire need, you can hire a prostitute and work with her.

i don't wear a digital watch when i wear a long sleeved shirt. I make sure I wear the right watch for the right occassion.

maraming maganda from nikon and canon. kung bago ka pa lang to photography, pwede ka magsimula sa 400D ng Canon kung medyo kapos sa budget, start ka with a point and shoot na may manual settings para maintindihan mo din ang intricacies of photography.

Not the most interesting of subjects but I just want our resident experts to give their commentary on composition and the shallow Depth of Field effect that I was trying to create. Don't worry, I got my flame suit on so don't hold back.

salamat! having done this really inspires me to do better in my photography.

photoworld manila is known for lower priced gears from the same dealers in hidalgo. as for the seminars. i'm guessing that it is somehow assumed that you have a basic knowledge of photography.

hmm...as for being an outcast. i don't think you'll be treated as one. it's all a matter of thinking. you'll be surprised at how many pros are willing to share some of what they know to fellow enthusiasts.

I'll be arriving on Feb. 1 and will be in Luzon until the 9th. I say Luzon because I might do some travelling to take some shots for a photo project I'm working on, including my basketball series.

I received an email from the editor of Reverse, a french basketball magazine, informing me that some of my photos will be published in an article called "Forgotten Hoops". Woohoo!

jix: I was supposed to get the IS version. But because of my 30D I'd have to postpone my lens purchase.

My 300D's mirror finally gave out. It now refuses to auto focus (a must on events and if you want to work faster). What's worse was it gave out during an event I was shooting last week. I was saving up for a 70-200 F2.8 but I guess that'll have to take a back seat for the mean time. But not my photography.

I'm getting a Canon 30D. hehehehe
