Our team is not even practising regularly.

I think that for Tab to succeed, he needs some time to prepare. Kita nyo naman, his principles are often to teach players to play multiple ways para there can always be a counter to the opposing game plan. More than SBP, i think that we need to hold everyone accountable - SBP, coaches, PBA, college leagues, Etc. dapat lahat willing magbigay. Di naman pwedeng lahat panalo. Kailangan corporations will give up players.

  3. The eligibility limbo caused this move to be triggered, I think. Much respect to Mbala though, and I hope he does well, even well enough to get a crack the G-league or even the NBA.

La Salle will reload, and it could be as soon as next year. Let's see if anybody will challenge them for the other finals slot.

  4. Watched the recent interview of Tab with TJ Manotoc. It was very clear that they started getting back to work right after they lost Season 79. The physicality was something they worked on daw for the year, and it paid off. Ateneo seemed tougher and in better shape even under the pressure from DLSU in game 3. Similarly, i wonder what major adjustment dlsu will come with for next year. Maybe a better half court offense?

I also have to mention one player from each school who was underrated throughout the series:

Caracut - this kid was steady. Melecio got the praises for offense and Montalbo had defense but Caracut was about 80% of both.

Asistio - he got hot, cold and then hot again for the season. But you could not see him pouting or lose confidence when Mamuyac or Black was being played more than him.

  6. afaik he was not issued a passport until after he was 16. but it would be good for gilas if he'll be able to play. greg + junemar + japeth + a naturalized import would be a formidable frontline.

I think Greg is cleared already considering he played for Gilas 1 with the likes of Lassiter, Casio, etc.

He should be able to help. Think of it this way, if he were on Gilas 3 instead of Asi, baka nagpunta tayo lahat nG Brazil.

Also, speaking of Tab, the man is so professional and disciplined. He got an Ateneo team who lost 4 recruits to the finals and a championship this year.

  7. Agree that we should be on the look out to replace blatch with austin or a better defender and rebounder. Blatche's skill and shooting cannot be matched as of the moment, but his lack of defense and CONDITIONING, we have to be smarter for the Fiba WC. The first time we had Blatche, he was in post-NBA shape and we saw how great he was.

Austin is a great option but if we can get somebody with some strength and weight to really be a difference inside, it would be better. The principle that we had a bit of "success" in Spain was because Blatche was almost always an advantage since he was better than his match up most games. We need to get back to this.
