tried SM Hypermart last weekend -- disappointing. SM Megamall supermarket is still the best in terms of selection, better than shopwise or other branches of SM.

tsaka fetuccini ala king sa don hen din..how can i forget!!
:sick:
Masyadong maasim? I'm not too fond of their pastas as well. Pati pizza, masyadong matabang.

I think you are referring to Las Paellas de Alba. The paellas there are superb, maybe better than that
of Mingoy's.
Nice thread here Pareng Masi.
I think that's it! So bukas pa pala yon...
Has anyone tried the callos at Almon Marina? It's not a Spanish restaurant, but I really love their callos.

it's not an issue of MS being madaya or anythin; they just have this annoying habit of integrating every single app thrown in with Windows XP into the shell (think IE, WMP, Messenger, etc)

Baka sa Pho Bac (not sure of spelling) meron. Sa Galleria.

Could that be Minggoy's, which is located at Casa Susana beside the ATC?
Hmmm... it wasn't Minggoys. I don't know if the restaurant is still open today. It's been years since I passed by that area. It was in the building near Alabang-Zapote road/Madrigal Ave. intersection.

what's Brazilian food like, anyway Is it something like Portuguese?
Probably... and probably Portuguese food would be very similar to Spanish food since these countries are next door neighbors. But that's just all assumptions.
I saw paella negra get mentioned a couple of times here and now I remember my dad taking us to this Spanish restaurant in Alabang many years ago. Forgot the name, it was beside Alabang Town Center. I was late so my dad ordered for me... it was two types of paella in one plate - half negra, half the usual type of paella. It was real good but could have been better if I arrived earlier... medyo lumamig na e.

The only Spanish restaurant I've tried is Dulcinea - is this authentic? The callos and tuhod y batoc are good. I'm curious how much better the more expensive Spanish restos are.
Aruba at Metrowalk serves great paella and lengua.

Striclty restaurant ba to o pwede mag-inom? Mukang conducive yung lugar for drinking e.

Could anyone recommend a good mySQL manager with a graphical user interface? :cry:
I use MySQL Administrator:

Haven't tried other managers but so far I'm satisfied with this one. Beginner pa lang ako e.

Natikman ko ulit recently yung Cerveza Negra. Huli kong natikman yon lumang bote pa, parang pilsen. Ngayon pala mataas na bote parang super dry. Ang sarap! May laban sa Guinness. Galing talaga ng San Miguel.

Well, quite frankly, it's not difficult to serve authentic Italian pasta. The most important thing is that the pasta should be al dente, not the lamog type that most Filipinos are used to. Any Italian would judge a pasta dish mainly on the quality of the pasta while the sauce comes in second only. The sauce just have to have the basic ingredients - garlic and olive oil.
But its difficult to get Filipinos to appreciate authentic Italian pasta. That's why most Italian restaurants here are catered to the Filipino or American taste, us being too Americanized.

Well, you can surf the net while having coffee there. Just bring your laptop and buy those prepaid wifi internet cards (from V Mobile or Airborneaccess) and you're good to go.

Problem 1. A man has nine children born at regular intervals. The sum of the squares of their ages is equal to the square of the man's age. What are the ages of the children? of the man?
children are ages 2 to 26, born at 3 year intervals. man is 48 years old.
solution:
let a = age of the youngest child
let n = interval between children
let b = age of the father
b^2 = a^2 + (a+n)^2 + (a+2n)^2 + ... + (a+8n)^2
--> b^2 = a^2 + a^2 + 2an + n^2 + a^2 + 4an + 4n^2 + ... + a^2 + 16an + 64n^2
--> b^2 = 9a^2 + 72an + 204n^2
if a = 2 and n = 3 then
--> b = square_root ( 9(2)^2 + 72(2)(3) + 204(3)^2 )
--> b = 48
wish i had a more elegant solution

Fazoli's is owned by the same company that runs KFC and Mister Donut. Italian food cannot be served at a fastfood joint. You are right about Italianni's, they serve shitty food.
However, Don Henrico's surprisingly serves authentic Italian pasta. An Italian colleague of mine recommended said restaurant to me.
authentic or not, what's important is the taste. in fairness to italliani's they have a few decent dishes. i don't think don henrico's is authentic italian. their dishes have international influence, and some of them are good.

not to sound unpatriotic but barako is perhaps the worse coffee bean i seen... its over roasted thus it has this sour, burnt, acid scent... that's why the taste is shallow if not bad...
the philippine has been producing coffee but yet we dont seem to make an impression in the coffee world market simply because there are not quality standards that are set for the growing, harvesting and roasting of coffee..
is this a matter for government or the private sector? well it's anyone's guess.
Figaro has started a Philippine revolution in Philippine coffee and they are making waves ...
Starbuck's started from where Figaro is but they have the funds of the NYSE to feed their expansion.
there's bad barako, there's good barako. different producers have different standards. the industry needs big money to produce and distribute quality barako consistently around the philippines.

correct kayo dyan fazolis doesnt serve good itallian food, para sa masa lang yan, not for real itallian food lovers
come to think of it, most of the popular italian joints here are not authentic anyway - italliani's, don henrico's, etc.

fazoli's at sm manila closed within a year or so after opening. i also couldnt see the fazoli's at jupiter. looks like its also closed.
also i think their tomato sauce and meat sauce are a little too sour for the pinoy taste. but i like them.

i think a good diet is to eat as much variety as you can.
eat when hungry. eat slowly. stop when you're full.

went to Brazil Brazil a few months ago -- if you love grilled meat, you'll love this place. They grill different kinds and cuts of meat, and they serve you the meat straight from the grill -- sa harap mo hihiwain yung karne, straight to your plate, no need to stand up a go to a buffet table. It was a real treat. I think the price is P600+
