  1. Original JKD was the brainchild of the Legend Bruce Lee based from a mixture of all the arts he had learned, he combined it into one flowing art, JKD.

Lee had a number of students during his time, but only a handful were really able to pick up where he left and continued practicing and mastering the art.

Perico JKD, as implied, is a form of JKD which Joey Perico developed based on the original JKD of Bruce Lee.

  2. it depends on the martial art but if you want to be good in streetfight, try joining jeet kune do by bruce lee and also krav maga(martial arts of israeli military). go to www.kravmaga.com

    Dragonclaw,

While indeed JKD is a great martial art developed by the legend himself Bruce Lee, sad to say there is NO true practioner here in the Philippines. There was one who claim to be a practioner dyan sa may vito cruz, Joey (I forgot his last name but it starts with P...di ko ma recall exactly sa tagal na).

As for Krav Maga, isa pa yang wala dito sa atin sa Pinas pero putsa duguaan ka rin dyan. Nothing fancy there. Take your opponent down quickly with any means possible inflicting the most amount of pain. Whew.

pre...ito ba un sa red corner? kasi may training gym rin dun ryt?

    Dude,

Dehin Red corner ito. Red corner is more of aero boxing, whilst DEFTAC is full combat martial arts.

  4. hmm... wow.. san ka lalaro? kelan ka pa training?

heard of topher r....... of bak..... & tsaka si miles v......... of pas.....?

I dont compete....laos na compared to the younger guys. Stopped training years ago, though i still spar once in a while to update knowledge and see if i can still beat up people. hahaha j/k lang.

Topher Ricketts of Bakbakan you mean.

Miles? Ah active pa pala sya? wala rin syang kadala dala ah. hehehehe

Pinasabog dati auto nun sa harap ng mars eh hehehe loko kasi. nasaksak pa.

  5. ouch! P250/session. :boo:

yup, i agree that magaling sila. sayang lang that alvin didn't fight, a lot of people would love to see him fight.

Alvin will fight in April. Along with some foreign fighters.

hard to find someone who will match him though. When we were younger, 10 people attacked him while he was drunk, hindi pa rin sya napuruhan.

When he spars, he takes on 6 advanced fighters at once, hindi pa rin kaya. Parang pusa kahit ibato mo he will always land on his feet. Lightning quick reflexes. Nakakbwiset come to think of it. Hehehehe

  6. KingMaker how much per session? alam ko mahal ang gracie jujitsu eh.

If im not mistaken its around P250 per session...i dunno na exactly since we go way back since college so sometime i just spar there for free.

You wont find a better instructor in Gracie other than Alvin. Just to let you know, all his fighters won in the Reality Combat last November.

When theyfight, they really know how to.

    :)

  7. id like to take up gracie jiu jitsu...any mtc member know the # for the instructor of that art? :)

Alvin Aguilar, the Head Instructor is a direct student of Royce Gracie himself.

    Hope this helps.

  8. aba well rounded martial artist ka pala, both striking and grappling arts.

there was this NHB tourney sometime back in november 2002, did you catch that? i missed it but i've heard some good and bad things about it.

    Wraith,

That was the Universal Reality Combat. There will be another one held on April 12, 2003 at the Le Pavillion.

I know kasi instructor ko dati ang organizer. They will be bringing in foreign fighters from Japan and Brazil this time.

  9. Sarian (Sariling Pamaraan) Advanced Level and Gracie Jiujitsu.

Best method is really to avoid conflict if possible.

Pag hindi, Strike Quick and Run like hell.

If cornered, use anything and everything possible, but go for the sensitive zones like eyes, throat, shin, solar plexus and the tweety bird.
