hi!
how do you say "welcome back" in Icelandic, or whatever their language is :flowers:
Kwento naman jan! For starters, sino kasali dun sa Reykjavik Jazz Fest? hehehe
....and nope, we're not the same old people - we're just older :upside:
cheers! tell us about Viking wine, if there are any...
walang viking wine dito...too expensive pero i have tried my hand at home brewing a couple of wine kits: a slightly sweet berry wine and a shiraz kit from australlia. The shiraz turned out great but the berry wine was only good for spritzers.
bods...walang geting old ek ek for wine lovers...everyone matures fine :-)

Am back...just for wine talk though but I wonder if everyone's still out there? Same old people?
-
oh...i will definitely be in Manila once a month. Next week Tuesday until Thursday is the next trip.
-
Hi Rain! Welcome back? Where are you now? As I recall, you were heading off to Europe somewhere there's good wine, I hope!
Everything alcoholic is expensive in that part of the world.
@bods...yes, I am back and while a feminine touch may be great, I am also sure that the gentlemen in this thread are doing well.
The other night, I had the pleasure of sharing a bottle of Monkey Bay Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand with my Brit business partner at the Marco Polo poolside. It hit the right note with the weather being humid and hot. I wonder if this brand is one of the so-called "critter wines" in the OZ-Kiwi market made for the mid-market?

Bods...got a couple of cases of reds from the Deakin Estate last December. It was great for Christmas...it went so fast during family gatherings, I had to get more :-(
-
oh man...it's been so long and i truly miss this thread
am back
how are the people of Bacchus' tribe?

Plenty near SM Mall in the reclamation area:

2. Jade Harbor
3. Traveller's Inn

I just had a really bad glass of Portuguese red...a bit dry but vinegar-ish. I bought the bottle since I have not had any Portuguese wines yet. Pray tell me alternative Portuguese wines so that this country bias does not sink in.

Back...
Heading for a wine tasting tonight...New World wines and been told that it's going to be interesting. Keeping my fingers crossed.
-
so...no takers for the wine weekend? oh well....
-
you read right Bods...metaphorically...although....
-
well...i have to go...need to wrap up a few things
I am serious about that wine weekend in Cebu. Even volunteering to organize it. Whoever is interested can either PM me or send a message to Bods.
-
I doubt we could go down south if we had no business there hehehe...
we could drive you around if you're here
tsk...tsk...and I thought that you were an exciting, determined man. Don't be so boring Bods. Live a little on the dangerous side!
-
what do you say to a wine, sea weekend here in cebu. Everyone arrives Saturday p.m. and we have an aphrodisiac dinner at a beach house somewhere...we can put up the menu to match the wine list. Think great dinner conversation with like-minded Bacchanalian friends. I have one or two girlfriends who would join in a flash...
-
Masi...you should NEVER refuse a Cebuana! All that sun and sensual fun...tsk, tsk...plus many of us love wine too. It's all the Spanish-European influence. I even have a friend who still remembers his grandfather serving wine from wineskins...whoa!
-
Bods...you and Masi should get your asses down south fast!!! Would be happy to drive you guys around. Make up a threesome or something
-
oh...i don't mean Bacchus opening a branch here. Was speaking metaphorically...like, the tribe/followers of the God of Wine Bacchus. It's too bad really that you only stay a day. Schedule time for an overnight trip and I will show you wine shops all over the city. Most of them are owned/run by friends, so it will be interesting (I think).
-
Hello masi...where are you based? It's just that there was a wine seminar thing and I attended. Although the same wine-drinking group was there...it was great to see the Cebuano offspring of Bacchus all together again. The afternoon ended with one of the participants inviting everyone to a buffet dinner at his place :-)
-
I'm not sure if pareng masi was aware of it...how was it?
I thought you were now in the Land of the Volcanoes
If you're here in Manila, give us a holler so we can have an impromptu WEB with you - magaling kami ni pareng masi sa mga biglaan hehehe....
Signed the contract and all that...waiting for the entry permit. Although, the hospital that hired me is already paying me a small allowance as sort of a retainer thing. Never thought that nurses were THAT in demand Anyway, am still going but in a couple of months pa. Did not expect this new development (delays with the entry permit since there is no Iceland consulate or embassy in the Philippines). Meanwhile, I bum around...been traveling a bit and attending/giving seminars left and right. How's everyone?
-
Hola wine drinkers! Did any of you come over for the Spanish foodfest here in Cebu a week or so ago?
-
hey...miss you Bods :-)
went around wine shops last friday and discovered a gem...
by the way, where can you get nicely stored pennfolds?
-
and oh...bods...that SNIFF, SIP, SWIRL, SPIT OUT thing...goes also for men

Maybe one day we can try a wine EB with wine sourced from unlikely countries: for example China, Taiwan, Greece, etc.
