  3. Hi Guys,

Just to add my own two cents...First,Peace to all of you esp to topher, snowflake and fluid....

As i said before i am a fan of JKD and i've also done some reading regarding JKD and in truth i find it somewhat confusing for now that's why i would like to see both first before i can decide which is for me...

Now for the disscussion or argument about the Original and Concept JKD,

I have practiced in Japanese Karate and i have found that after the 'Founding Father' of the art(may it be Shotoka,Wado,Goju,Shito) or even with Aikido and the Korean Martial arts, there IS Always a split among the ranks...I'm not saying that slinters are good or bad...but i do think that diversity in MA will be benificial in the long run to those who would like to take up MA....they will have more choices...now you might say that the Original teachings will be diluted upon it's movement away from the Original, that may be true but it also doesn't mean the Original was good to begin with...I'm not putting down the Original or the Concept...All i want to state is that splintering among the ranks Does happen and that being Original or Splinter doesn't necessarly mean they were good to begin with..From my experience,it's not so much the Art but the Teacher...For example,Most of the SHotokan artists here or any other Karate style for that matter mostly concentrate on the Sports side of the Art to lure kids but fortunately for me the teachers at my Dojo was more the street type fighters which for me was what i was really looking for so i really wouldn't care whether they were teaching Shotokan,Shito or any other style.IT was their approach, the methodology, the attitude that for me made my experience worthwhile....Anyways, hope we all can get along and gudluck to all you guys and to your styles....keep on practicing.... :mtc:

  4. Hi Guys,

Snowflake,i envy you for being able to see(or should i say feel) first hand the power of JKD.That is one of the most effective ways of converting or convincing people that what they have is not just all talk and theory. But i guess as Topher said, different strokes for different folks. There are those who like to stay true to the original and there are those who likes to go on a different path and evolve from the original. I see no problem in both, there should be no conflict. It gives more choices to the practitioners out there and enable them to find out what is good for them.I am fascinated with JKD and i guess i have to see both Original and Concept JKD to really be able to say what is best for me.I have only seen JKD from a video by this guy who supposedly once taught the navy seals JKD and it started me in my fascination with the art. Hope i can meet you guys one of these days and maybe you both can give me and others who are also interested some idea on the art of JKD. More power to you guys..... :mtc:

  5. Dear prito,

I attended twice abroad seminars on the real Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do. This is for anyone who is interested to just train. I am no instructor but I hope we could have an informal group. This is open to fans of Bruce Lee. Pls pm for details. Thanks

    Snow

    Hi Snowflake,

Have recieved your PM, thank you. Will contact you one of these days. I am interested in learning more-or-less the original JKD. Your plan for an informal group is great. Though have to tell you that my previous background was in Shotokan Karate(SKIF) and that was a long time ago so it's a little bit different from JKD.

Hope there are other JKD fans out there.

    :mtc:

  6. to flipo and high voltage lover,

Are you talking about the JKD Perico style or the original JKD?

    snowflake

hi snowflake...why? do you know any dojo or instructors that teaches jeet kune do?

i'm interested in the original jkd. but i hve read somewhere that currently there are no certified jkd instructors here in the phil..if you know of one please tell us the details...thnks..

  7. In my point of view, a woman's virginity specially if she is your girlfriend and plan to seetle with her for life, the ideal is she has to be a virgin. A high standard is aimed at since you are talking for a companion, partner, friend, soulmate, and everything that would complement you. One aspect is her virginity. Ideally, that is the dream. Realistically, when the ideal is tempered with reality, the gap between the two has to narrow down and even to fill the gap to make sure there is agreement. When one sets his dream to state wherein one's life for the future is at stake, we should have the best that life can offer. Lowering your standard for such a lifetime engagement would mean the ideal no longer exists in your criteria.

Hence, the attitude would be if she a virgin well and good. If she is not, well at least naman you should love her. You should have a lot of love to understand who she no matter what she has been. To accept her as she is and have the great faith that inspite of what she is not, love goes beyond the merely phisical and material. You transcend the vulnarable and fragile condition of human nature and proceed to higher level of being human. Hence, one's perspective is raised to a level of the metaphysical, the beyond, the spiritual.

We there have to consider that what matters most is your ability to transcend, to go beyond the merely now and project to longer time frame of the future that is the beyond. We really do not know what will happen to the future since we cannot hold the future, but at least we know Who Holds the Future. You can call Him bey many names.

    Hi edtc..first of all...Peace brather...

Medyo comment lang ako wbout high standard(virgin) and low standard(not virgin)...

ako kasi i don't look at virginity in that sense..na isa syang basehan ng standard...

kasi for me sex(love making for couples-married&unmarried) is something that is natural in every relationship...i don't and never have looked at sex as something to give or be given only on or after marriage...

for me it's as natural as breathing...so no need to wait for marriage kasi baka di kana umabot at malagutan na ng hininga..mwahahaha...

from reading the thread i find that the guys here are thinking more on what IS important and not on what WAS important...medyo nagmo-move na ang thinking ng guys..kasi dati mga kasabayan ko double standards...sila mga di na virgin pero they want that their partner be a virgin...shet...super double standard...

    so guys...have a healthy sex life.....and always...safe sex....

    Peace.... :mtc:
