  1. -_- Nice. Sounds better perhaps in a poetry-reading session. Not my gift to write poetry, though, but here's an attempt:

    There's a lady named Shizuka

Who has nothing to do with Yakuza

    She's quiet and calm

Seals her lips with her palm

As she sways gently like a sakura

    (He-he-he, a japanese-fusion limerick. Next time, english-fusion haikku naman)

Wow! Thank you for the thought and the effort Gobi. I'm blown away! ^_^

  2. Lalitavistara: The spirit of the best of men is spotless, like the lotus in the muddy water which does not adhere to it.

The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurity, lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind.

  3. 200? For my fare? :P

But if I'm supposed to pay, maybe a happy meal for both of us

Or the good tasting Tapsilog in the town center. May coke pang kasama!

I think one of the problems of the Philippine Educational System is that we focus more on Arts and Literature than in Science and Math.

We don't have a lot of good Math teachers because Math teachers are in demand and can earn more outside the Academe.

English and Literature teachers have less opportunities outside the Academe so they stay in the Academe.

Some Math teachers are not even Math majors.

Yet both Math and English teachers are trapped in the same salary scheme despite the differences in the demand for their skills.

Also, the paper requirement of having a Certificate on Education or a PRC Education license deter skilled people from other industries who can be good Math teachers.

If the academe opens its arms to non-Education professionals or retirees who have good aptitude in teaching Math skills to our students and provide them with higher payment in relation to their abilities and market worth, then we can rank much higher than what we are in now. ;)

The clown fish never likes to be .... swallowed accidentally

The clown fish never likes to be,

    swallowed accidentally,

or even swallowed down for tea.

    It's 'cuz protandrous hermaphrodites

are not too keen on inner bites

and being all born males, you see,

they lead a life that's wild and free,

    until the female partner dies

(passes on to seafree skies) and then

    the dominant male becomes

a girly clown with 'girly thumbs'.

    It's called sequential hermaphroditism,

    a sorta weird seaborn-again-schism.

The clown fish never likes to be,

    swallowed accidentally,

or even swallowed down for tea.

  5. A friend persuaded me to join an online gimmick group based in Manila circa 2003. While attending an EB in an Amusement Park, some of the boys were talking about their other online group, MTC. Days after the event I registered in the site and the rest is history.

The friend and the previous gimmick group are now missing in action. But MTC is still here :-) and so am I.

  6. For blow gobi - O sole Mio by Luciano Pavarotti :-)

    (English translation)

What a beautiful thing is a sunny day,

The air is serene after a storm

The air's so fresh that it already feels like a celebration

What a beautiful thing is a sunny day

    But another sun,

    that's brighter still

    It's my own sun

    that's upon your face!

    The sun, my own sun

    It's upon your face!

    It's upon your face!

When night comes and the sun has gone down,

    I almost start feeling melancholy;

    I'd stay below your window

When night comes and the sun has gone down.

    But another sun,

    that's brighter still

    It's my own sun

    that's upon your face!

    The sun, my own sun

    It's upon your face!

    It's upon your face!
