Other Synthetics like Shell Helix, Castrol, BP, Total, Havoline, Valvoline, Top1 and most others are just cheap modified petroleum-based oils (Class III).

any expedition users? getting a second hand 2001 expedition by end of this month. actually, bigay. i have been a honda fan for the longest time and would like feedback on the expedition. all the posts here seem to be about escape and focus

Expedition is a great car, comfy, safe, spacious, prestigious (in the pilipins).......IF you can afford the gasoline.

Actually, I have nothing personal against Toyota. In fact, I find their Camry quite an excellent car.

What I didnt like lang is that they had 8 years to come up with an ALL-NEW car and they come out with just a heavy facelift.

Its just plain and simple LAZINESS.

I applaud Honda for all the effort they put in coming out with a Civic that pushes the envelope of car design and engineering.

This old jalopy also uses the TORSION BEAM suspension like the 2008 Altis. SERIOUSLY.

All-new suspension

The 9th generation Corolla Altis is excellent at smoothing out bumps, but this ride quality comes at the expense of driver involvement. The new 2008 Altis changes all that, thanks to a brand new suspension, and a new electric steering system.

 

A newly-developed L-arm MacPherson strut is a compact and rigid solution, which brings the suspension strut in-board of the wheel hub to improve noise and vibration suppression. This design should also improve straight line stability, and steering responsiveness.

 

Rear suspension is by way of a new torsion beam which is a popular arrangement as it allows increased boot space. The suspension layout separates the coil spring and damper while allowing a wider track for the cargo area.

FYI, there were changes made to the suspension and although you see it as half of an old car at a million bucks, it is still a brand new car and it is a million bucks that I may do as I please with. 1.1M to be exact.

Anong binago sa suspension.....PRIMITIVE Torsion beam pa rin sa likod ng Altis- the CHEAPEST kind of suspension available.

I'll choose the Altis over the Civic each and every time!!

Had a 2005 Honda CRV. Bought it new and just a year after, ang daming sira at nagloloko lagi aircon and that piece of s@%t was casa maintained, on schedule always!!

 

 

FYI, why do you think that honda wont allow their cars to be used as Taxi Cabs... they say that they dont wanna tarnish their image na pang public transport yung mga kotse nila. thats what they say to the general public but in truth, hindi tatagal yung mga kotse nila if you use it for taxi services. kumakalampag agad yung suspension, nagloloko yung aircon, etc etc etc

You are WRONG. The Mazda3 and the Ford Focus share the same platform.

My 2.0 Civic Manual is surprisingly matipid. Consumes like our old Corolla 1.6

The new Corolla looks more refined plus it is a Toyota so you can't go wrong.

COROLLA = Old Platform, Old Suspension, Old Engine = You're buying Half an Old Car at a Million bucks.

I just hate the tak-tak-tak sound of Diesels, but its just me. The BMW 5 series diesel I tried accelerates like a gasoline car, but still that sound.

WAg na kayo bumili ng MAZDA3, lalabas na yung next model next year. Looks like a smaller MAZDA6.

i find the interior to be relatively spacious...any i wouldn't want to be in a picanto if it gets hit by a truck hehe...

MOtul and Royal purple are now price reasonably. I would personally go the premium of the synthetic over the mineral

Motul and Royal Purple are the best Synthetics available bec. they are Ester and PAO based (Class 4 and 5) unlike CHEAP Class 3 synthetics like Shell, Castrol, Caltex, BP, Top1 etc.

Use them if you can afford them.

i go for synthetic every 10k, change oil filters every 5k

An oil filter does not filter out sheared hydrocarbons, only dirt.

Don't let your car reach 10t between oil change, kawawa lang siya.

FORD of Europe has one of the best car designers on the planet, MARTIN SMITH. Kaya maganda mga Ford cars sa Europe. In fact, Ford there continues to be profitable.

I went to the Toyota dealership to check the new Corolla. The front looks a improved but from the windshield back, it looked like an old 2001 Altis. The inside looked utilitarian and plain. Very dissapointing.

Basta if your Synthetic Oil is not the ESTER or PAO type, DO NOT stretch the oil change mileage to 10,000km. If you are using the regulat Group 3 synthetic, kawawa ang makina mo.
