On August 13, 1986, President Corazon C. Aquino issued Memorandum Order No. 28 which provides as follows:

"Section 1 of Presidential Decree No. 851 is hereby modified to the extent that all employers are hereby required to pay all their rank-and-file employees a 13th month pay not later than December 24 of every year."chan robles virtual law library

Before its modification by the aforecited Memorandum Order, P.D. No. 851 excludes from entitlement to the 13th month pay those employees who were receiving a basic salary of more than P1,000.00 a month. With the removal of the salary ceiling of P1,000.00, all rank and file employees are now entitled to a 13th month pay regardless of the amount of basic salary that they receive in a month if their employers are not otherwise exempted from the application of P.D. No. 851. Such employees are entitled to the benefit regardless of their designation or employment status , and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid, provided that they have worked for at least one (1) month during a calendar year.

ANY LABOR CODE EXPERT? I just want to confirm what I understand to be right which is any employee (contractual or probationary or regular ) will receive 13th month.

1. yup. phpmyadmin is web based. though mysql enables you to do the querying via shell. phpmyadmin is your gui behind the console =)

2. mysql and postgres almost has a similar functionality as an rdbms for linux or unix but mysql is the usual tandem for PHP (which most likely would be your front-end)

3. well for me, i don't know much about freespire/et.al but been using php/mysql for web-based application for almost 5 years now. tried it in rh,fc,cent0s,freebsd and openbsd unix.

4. you were trying to install wine for what? just for the sake of connecting to an irc server? i suggest u use x-chat (if u want a gui based irc client) or bitchX (if you want a console based irc client). hopefully that would do fine.

5. for proprietary db's like oracle, usually it comes with a package. u can either use AIX unix by IBM or solaris by Sunmicro. for MySQL fedora core, centos would do. for unix-like os, try freebsd.. good for application servers. yahoo runs it. google has it =)

regarding wine, i wanna try to run it if it can really install win32 programs out of the box. so far, i haven't installed anything using wine. all cnr.

use phpmyadmin for frontend and mysql for backend.

How do I make 2 desktop pc's access one DSL line? i dont have a router per se, but PLDT gave a sort of router/modem for our connection. I've tried every possible solution, from making one PC the host and another the guest, to creating another IP address.. still one of the pc's cannot connect. Maybe i was doing something wrong though... i need every bit of your 2 cents on this guys.. Thanks!

There are 2 ways for you to access one DSL line and have it used by multiple computers.

1. Router - so easy . just connect the router to the modem. then you can have as many pcs connect to the router.

2. Software (Windows ICS or Internet Connection Sharing) . You need an extra LAN Card here. the 1st lan card youuse to connect your computer to the modem. Then the 2nd LAN card you use to connect to a HUB or another computer. As what the others said here, you need to k now how to cross crimp the cables.

Scandrive . @tanisSayang pre kung nandito ka sa Davao i can recommend one to you. Battery Kingdom. Yung tag 6k na battery dapat sa laptop ko , they created one for 1.8k @ponx99Pre, you need to edit your boot.ini for that. MTC SPEED

I agree, they can do something about this if they transfer to a better server hosting the board. Imagine if they can make it as fast as friendster? Even with a million user (exag?) , you really don't have to wait a long time.

BUT I GUESS it has to do something with the RDBMS (database) used also. MySQL kasi gamit nitong IPB , its free, not so good an RDBMS if you're data mining.

WIFI

You can check your control panel>system>hardware tab>click on button Device MAnager > check on LAN CARDS .. if you find a wireless device , then you already have a wifi card installed. But if none .. Go buy a PCI CARD (better than buying USB type kasi you can still use the usb port for other devices) .

Cursor

A cursor other than an arrow appears ? Did you change your OS's Theme?

RAMs

You can install a different brand , it's the type of the RAM that's really important. If its DDR (your original) make sure you buy DDR , not DDR2 or DDR3 . IF your orig DDR is DDR 333 or DDR 266 , you can still buy DDR 400 (megahertz) , as long as the RAM brand is downgradeable. Ask the technician if it is (downgradeable) .

64 Bit computing

Is your AMD processor built for 64-bit computing? 64 bit is nice only if your current software are on a 64-bit version. If its just 32-bit , stay with 32-bit.

thanks sa reply, kasi yung ip address lahat ay naka automatic, for some several reason ay hindi ko pwedeng alisin sa auto ung ip nya. nagawa ko na din manually na i-block ang internet access thru regedit, but yung firefox ay nakakalusot pa din. kapag nag-uninstall ako ng firefox, and dali lang i-copy ng user ang installer nun at voila, nakakagamit na uli ng internet.

What you do is block the users by using their MAC Address. ang MAC address kasi is unique per machine.

I research mo na lang pano malaman ang MAC address ng isang pC.

naka wifi yung internet ko tapos wala akong gamit na server para sa internet dahil naka direkta sya sa hub. gusto ko sanang alisin ang internet acces yung ilang pc, meron na akong nakitang software yung advanced security administrator kaso hindi kasama sa disable nya ang firefox, kaya nakakagamit pa din ng internet yung pc. pano ang magandang gawin?

I will assume these things since you didnt clarify it.

1. The hub that you meant was a router (since as you said you have no server 'proxy' )

2. You have a local area network (LAN) with PCs that can connect to your wifi router

3. You want to block certain PCs from accessing the internet through your router.

ADVISE

Depending on your router brand , if that is a Linksys , the default configuration website is http://192.168.1.1

What do i mean by this :

1. go to any computer of your LAN , then type in the browser the url http://192.168.1.1

2. username is admin

3. password by default is just a blank space (dont type anything)

4. when you've succesfully entered the configuration of your router , go to IP filtering

5. Since you're on wifi , what you can do is Filter ALL IP except the IPs that you will allow usage. This will prevent outside users within the wifi range to access your internet router.

for example : you have 5 PCs. they have IP adds of 192.168.1.10 , 192.168.1.11, 192.168.1.12 , 192.168.1.13,192.168.1.14

you will only allow 2 PCs to have internet access , that is the PCs with IP add .10 and .11 .

What you will put sa IP filters will be :

192.168.1.2 UP TO 192.168.1.9

192.168.1.12 UP TO 192.168.1.255

THIS MEANS ONLY 2 IP adds can use the internet ... .10 and .11

YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY A SOFTWARE if its blocking internet that you want. Router config should be able to answer your need.

HOWEVER, if you want to block certain websites, etc... then this is when you buy those software to act as PROXY SERVERS
