thats a good quickie game, basically a super-basic version of Shadowrun. Technos are a meld of the deckers/hackers and their commlinks and cyberdecks, and technomancers who can access the Matrix(internet) with their minds alone. Samurais are there, with options for bioware and cyberware, and adepts, who channel their magic into physical feats. Mages and Shamans for the real magic. as well as a whole mess of character races

Drill Sergeant, sorry for the late reply. been busy in real life. have you had previous experience with handguns? in your home? do you have kids? Glocks are cool and make good guns, BUT, with a kid around, or being a first time user, you might want to settle for one with an external safety first. try out Armscor, Tanfoglio, Norinco, or CZ models with external safety.

once you think that you are competent enough to handle a firearm with internal safeties, then you can move to Glocks.

That sounds like a good progression. Are they rolling up new characters during the switch or do you convert the existing ones? Do they like ascending armor class better?

i usually leave it to a vote by the pc's. last time, they decided to re-roll their characters to easily fit into the Pathfinder genre rather than try to fit their backstory into the PF Histories

If by classic d&d you mean B/X, BECMI or RC then I can't agree with you more. The basic manuals from BECMI and the Black Box in particular are excellent for teaching beginners. Where do you get them? If you don't mind using PDFs then you can buy them on DM's guild:

i usually start them on the box set before moving them to Pathfinder or 5th Edition once they get more proficient in the game

yes, it is legal, BUT if you get one that shoots darts, you need to get a one-time license similar to one for airsofts and air pistols/rifles
