  1. Yeah, he is slow and his chin is weak but I still think he is dangerous on the clinch and on the ground though. I don't want a champion that stays on streaks. I always want the title to change hands. I think the reason why I enjoyed the Light Heavyweight before is because the title always changes hands. From Chuck to Rampage to Forrest to Rashad to Lyoto to Shogun.

    dont expect too much kay frank mir, with his glass chin, JDS will destroy him!!!

  2. As expected Rashad would lose this. Rashad has no confidence in his chin that's why he hesitated to go to the inside or to get the takedown. These options would have given him the chance to win. Rashad always stays on the outside even though he has the size disadvantage. He is also comfortable in decision fights. Remember during the TUF 2 and earlier Rashad version Dana was so disappointed with him because he doesn't finish fights. That is why everyone was surprised when he knocked out Chuck Liddell. Anyway, I think Hendo is just a 1 right hand guy as well. He has to compensate with the huge size disadvantage, the long reach and the ground game also favors Jones due to his long arms and limbs and the elbow shots. So far only fast and explosive guys can beat Jones. I think Gustaffson has a chance to decision Jones though.

    Mir and JDS is expected. Mir has been on a roll lately. He deserves this. I want the title to always change hands para sana unpredictable ang mga breakdowns hehehe.

  3. Thiago looked rusty. Ditto Sakara. Siyar (still can't say or spell his last name, give me about another week) the Afghan fighter looked good against Paulo Thiago. Great addition to '70 and hope he can sustain a run and challenge for the title eventually.

    @nick fury

    Gustafsson has a wrestling background but you are right, it hasn't been showcased all that much. Thinking that if Bones gets past Rashad, one more win by Gustafsson against a contender would allow him to challenge for the belt.

    Yeah man, but man Silva a tough S.O.B.! Gustafsson had the right gameplan which is to stick and move.

    @nick fury

    I think still too early for Gustafsson for a title shot but the big problem is that this division has been almost wiped clean by BONES man!

    He's beaten Machida, Bader, Rua and Rampage. I think he's gonna stomp Evans as well. After Evans (if Jones wins?) I think Gustafsson can be included in the list of people Jones hasn't fought yet like Hendo, Lil Nog, Griffin (If he beats Ortiz) and Phil Davis.

  4. Gustafsson over Thiago Silva later. Have nothing against Thiago, but thinking that the ring rust is going to play a factor for sure this time.

    Stann over Sakara. More tools to pull off a win.

    This is an excellent card. I think the main event is a pick em fight. both fighters have tremendous power. I want Thiago to win this one. He's got experience and power in his arsenal. Just can't get over with his performance in the Evans and Vera fights where he hurt them both badly. When he gets in the cage and starts banging he can knock anyone out in the division.

    I think Stann can pull it off too. Sakara's ring rust might be a factor in this one.

  5. MMA is the fastest growing sport. It's a sport for gladiators since there are a lot of ways and techniques you can use to win. I believe they can coexist with each other. I think it's actually good for boxing since UFC has a good marketing strategy a lot of people will be drawn to watch more contact sport. Open your mind people try and learn the different styles of Martial Arts and watch some of the great fights in the UFC. We also have Filipinos there who are actually doing good. Mark Munoz and Brandon Vera.

  6. For me, Junior has an advantage based on paper

    Not criticizing your pick but I think Overeem has the upper hand here. JDS main weapon is his elite mma boxing and his takedown defense. He has skills in BJJ, Wrestling and shows good technique in the clinch but he prefers the stand up game and by letting his hands go. On the other hand he hasn't fought a guy who is so good in the distance game and uses both his arms and legs excellently and accurately. Remember kicking distance needs more distance than arm distance. Reems kicks will reach JDS before his punches reach Reems. I feel Overeem has the better experience and technique on the stand-up than JDS.

    I think the only person that has a chance to beat Reem is the guy who has quick and powerful greco/freestyle wrestling/judo takedown techniques and has an excellent submission game. He's on top of his striking game right now.

  7. Correct me if needed but I recall JDS' takedown percentage is the highest amongst the UFC. From his championship bout, Cain tried to shoot twice or three times and got stuffed, was discouraged and decided to trade which the outcome didn't turn to favor him.

    Though Mir is more versed on the ground over JDS, Santos' right is ridiculous. He's also got a tough chin never to have been stunned so that works for him as well. We all know Mir is NOT going to try and trade with Dos Santos. I can't wait...

    I agree with you, I think Mir's chances of winning are greater when the fight is taken in the ground than standing with JDS. This is a blockbuster fight and I can't wait to watch it but wikipedia and UFC news states:

    "Mir is expected to face Cain Velasquez on May 26, 2012 at UFC 146 in a number 1 contender's match for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. However on 4 April, 2012 Alistair Overeem tested positive in a pre fight drug test and though Mir was thought to be considered to replace Overeem, Dana White stated publicly that the Mir-Velasquez fight is still happening despite Overeem likely being dropped from his fight with JDS. "

    The JDS vs Reem fight is way better than JDS vs Mir but nevertheless I enjoy each and every match-up in that heavyweight card. Can't wait! I wonder who will replace Reem? Or are they gonna pull-out JDS instead?

  8. I think the reason why Lesnar is back in the WWE is because the hazards are lesser and he still has a high pay.

    What the hell happened to REEM? TRT (Testosterone Replacement Theraphy) ba ang alibi nya? Sa totoo lang di naman nya kelangan ng steroids against Lesnar e. His experience alone is enough to beat Lesnar. I think Frank Mir as a replacement is a nice move, he's been riding a mean streak lately and his stand up is getting better. I think all he needs to do is force it to the ground and break JDS arms or legs.

  9. i think pacquiao should face timothy bradley or andre berto.

    for money considerations shane mosley is the bankable fighter after floyd mayweather jr.

    Bradley and Berto would be legitimate threats but there is no use now. Arum wouldn't only pit Pacquiao against non-Top Rank fighters except the one named Mayweather. I hope Mayweather signing with Don King would make the Pacquiao-Mayweather possible.

  10. Sonnen kinda reminds me of the old school fighters a little bit. Like Tito Ortiz or Ken Shamrock. His wrestling game is really tough to beat. Too bad he got caught by the triangle. I think a rematch should be made. Also....Chael's interviews cracks me up. The guy is like a stand up comedian.

  11. I don't think Margarito deserves a shot at Pacquiao after the plaster of paris incident. Kung lalagyan mo ng brick ang kamay mo me intent kang maaaring mapatay ang kalaban mo. This guy should be banned for life. I want Pacquiao to fight Marquez for the 3rd time and then fight Mayweather when the time his trainer's legal troubles are gone.

  12. Rampage vs Machida is on tap for UFC's November event..

    I'm undecided kung sino gs2 ko manalo dito..

    Rampage na lang cgro para may possibility ung Rampage - Shogun 2..

    I'm a big Rampage fan but I think it's a long night for him. Machida is too fast, too well-rounded and too elusive for him. I'd like Machida to have another shot at Shogun.

  13. I would have loved to see a Fedor vs. Brock matchup, but Fedor has to get that rematch against Werdum first. It's a toss up actually but I'm starting to think Brock has a chance. It seems like Fedor has been slowing down, perhaps getting old.
