A (rare!) post for the Sartorially Inclined among us ;-)

Breaking in a new outfit recently bought in Hong Kong. Shirt, vest, and pants all brand-spanking new. I had to send the jacket back to be replaced. I inadvertently got one in the wrong size! Now I need to have these pants shortened a bit, since I like mine with little to no break when I'm standing straight.

  2. i'm a slave to Pop Music.

    These days, I'm listening to:

California Girls and Firework - Katy Perry

Love The Way You Lie (feat. Rihanna) - Eminem

Love The Way You Lie Pt. 2 (feat. Eminem) - Rihanna

    Halo - Beyonce

And for my esoteric music fix, I have Asian Kung-Fu Generation on my playlist.

    ....................................

Inspired by other Food Trip Field Reports I've read on this thread, I decided to write one of my own. Today's dinner was at Sugi in Greenbelt 2. My companion and I were seated on the second floor, where I had a good view of the nice Japanese lanterns they had hanging on the ceiling.

If you've eaten here before, you know that they serve some sort of pickled cucumbers with Tauge (Bean Sprout) as their appetizer. I opted to save this and eat it with my dinner as a palette cleanser.

Our dinner consisted of the following dishes:

Nasa Abura Itame - Grilled Eggplant in Teriyaki Sauce and Sesame Seeds

Aside from the fact that we thought that the eggplant may have had too much Teriyaki Sauce (medyo nakaka-umay), the rest of the food was good as usual. I've been eating at Sugi for a while and am rarely dissapointed. I was a little annoyed at the slow service we got tonight, though. I don't know if it was because we were on the second floor (which is understandably not the area that the staff really focus on) and there were a lot of customers, but I felt like the service would be improved if they assigned a captain waiter to the section. I guess they might have had one, but it was just really busy. Either way, they lost some points with me there.

Overall, it was a pretty good meal that satisfied my craving for Japanese cuisine (had Japanese for lunch also). The whole thing cost me a little over a thousand pesos, which is not bad, if you ask me.
