A synthesis of different styles (most martial arts are ecletic combination of different styles) is what is aimed at.

yah,i heard stories bout this when i was training with mang sidro,my arnis instructor who trained in doce pares sa cebu. kaya nga daw nagkawatak watak ang arnis dun is because of difference of ideas.Personally,i think their ego's got in the way which is kinda sad because we know how good FMA is. Nahihirapan tuloy tau umabante
