  1. Hmmm... isyu na naman ba to? hehehe. I wonder what group this is. Clues naman dyan. hehe :thumbsupsmiley:

Clues??!! ayaw ko nga.. hehehehe.. baka mabugbug pa ako.. pero im sure alam mo yan.. hehehe.. they have this one fighter who shifted from team to team to team na kasi no body wants him kasi mayabang sobra.. this gym took him in to take advantage of his natural abilities as a fighter.. hahahaa.. parang yung binili ng Fairtex si Yodsanklai from Twins.. hehehe.. and as they say.. the rest is history

and oh.. pede mo rin "collar choke" tong fighter na ito kahit hindi naka gi .. bwhahahah.. :upside: :upside:

  2. aug 8 daw start\opening or what ever... I'll check this one and maybe train once a week here, lapit lang sa office.

kung malapit lang sa office mo i suggest you train there.. Tagle is one of the best grappler and fighter sa local scene.. im sure matututo ka doon keysa you go to "jack of all trades" na gym that seem to be popping up recently.. heheheh

  3. Hi.. I was wondering what graphics card people are using here..

I recently switched from my xbox360 to playing games on my PC. im not that tech savy but according to my computers specs my unit had a 2.7ghz proccessor and 1gb ram..

but i encountered problems while loading up games such as assasins creed, age of conan, hitman blood money, infernal, etc.

i think its my graphics card that is not up to par.. what would you guys suggest.. I have been told that Geoforce would be my best bet.. but im confused with the many different types and wide range in prices..i wouldnt want to spend too much on a graphics card.. max i would be willing to shell out is probably 2k..

what would my best option be?

  4. i think this is a good one. i saw thin in men's health as a circuit, and you so it six times or so. kind of working against pain or in the presence of pain or something.

menshealth??!! wag naman.. hehehehe.. but i woudl have to admit.. thats an adoptation from intocombat's workout for jeff monson and rhadi ferguson.. but yes.. you do the whole thing as a full body circuit.. most people can manage it in about 5-6mins

the term your looking for is metabolic conditioning and lactic tollerance training.. this is teaching your body to use lactic acid as a energy source instead of treating it as a by product of intense muscular fatigue.. it also teaches your heart rate to recover rapidly inspight of hitting 90-95% max heart rate.. I seen some people do this with a snorkle and their nose taped

  5. wanna try somthing difficult.. we use to do this for time in preparation for out last comp.

25 prisoner squats (aka hands behind the head full squats)

25 take down lunges (its like half a shooting drill)

    25 alternating split squats

    25 jumping squats

using a thick piece of rope tied to the ceiling..

hand over hand pullups into toe touches towards the ceiling.. or you can go for flying armbars or somthing. 25 reps

switching pushups on a medecine ball 25 reps

on a hanging bag or partner.. close guard situps (had to be able to hug the body or touch back of the neck at least) 25 reps

    25 sprawls

this is one set btw guys... do each exercise one after the other.. 2 sets with 1-2 min rest in between is enough to fry you..

try to beat your time everytime.. if it becomes too easy.. use a weighted vest or somthing..

there is somthing else that i let my guys do which is more upper body dominant but shempre i wouldnt wanna give up all our training routines.. hehe :goatee: :goatee:

I can get you the contact number of the head instructor there if your interested.. if im not mistaken.. 2K a month.

Id give you our webpage also.. Graciebarra.com.ph

but unfortunatly.. someone forgot to pay the bills kaya down ang page.. hahahahah

  7. as for their quickie sessions 5400 pesos++ 12 times.. 30 minutes

    and 12600++ 30 times... 30 minutes...

HAHAHAHAHAA.. these prices are a joke.. in my oppinion.. a really good personal trainer should be willing to train themselves out of a job..

as in .. teach the client the basics.. drum it into them.. teach them how to be independent. To make a long story short.. give them the tools and teach them how to use them

a good personal trainer should be able to teach you the basics in one training cycle.. typicaly this is 6-8 weeks.. and by them. more or less you can work on your own.

the only personal trainers worth hiring on a long term basis are those that have specialized skills in terms of client goals.. this would be fighters.. competetive atheletes.. etc etc..

but for the regular joe shmo or plain jane.. why the heck would you need your hand held throughout a workout? unless what you need is an "alalay" someone to get your water bottle.. change the pins on the machine, wipe your perspiration and put away your plates and dumbells when your too lazy to do it by yourself.

if a personal trainer wants to justify charging that much they should at least have a facility of their own.. parang garrage gym.. you dont need all those machines anyway. just the basic free weight equipment and alot of immagination and knowledge of how the human body works.

if there are any personal trainers out there.. ito idea lang.. pool some resources together.. open up a training center na 100% personal training lang.. small.. but capable of 100% attention to customer and 100% satisfaction

  8. Well I bought an adidas training gi. a blue one for about Php3,400 ok naman siya hanggang ngayon ginagamit ko pa kahit sa competition.

I think the white one is about Php2,800. Yung mga fatal nila na gi baka mas mura pa. Second hand kasi yung fatal ko e kaya di ko alam yung price ng bago.

white fatal is 3K.. if walang price rise.. blue one of corse is a little bit more expensive..

I have 2 fatals blue and white, white HCK for comps.. and a dan rho double weave just to piss my sparring partners off.. (those of you who bjj or judo know what i mean.. heheh)

in my oppinion.. best value for money is the Fatal.. its sturdy.. and very light for a goldweave.. and its not very hot so summer training need not be a bitch. I had both gi's for more than 2 years na.. my first blue i used without rotation for around a year..training 2x a week.

the addidas club gi.. kahit na branded is prone to shrinkage.. although shrinking is normal in gi's the addidas keeps on shrinking.. almost all of my teammates who bought this gi eventually bought another..

if your gonna get an addidas.. get the Machado signature or the next one up from the cheapest addidas gi.. and maybe buy 2 sizes up to allow for shirnkage..

heheh.. just my 2 cents.. sorry kung mahaba.

  9. Boxing.. well.. still learning it.. havnt had a fight yet

Muay Thai.. ayaw ko na to..hehe.. but i still train hitting the pads and stuff but no more fighting

BJJ.. currently training pa rin and competing actively but on a local level lang

Powerlifting.. but havnt competed in around 7 years na.. hehehe.. but still lifting heavy

MMA... I train on occasion when some teamates hae fights comming up.. and somthing that im thinking of trying at least once before my body gives up on me.. hehehehe

Seriously considering airsoft.. pero.. err.. takot ako masaktan eh.. masakit kaya ma baril ng pelets noh!!

  10. chief iba pa ba yung fight club sa may madison jan sa sinasabi mo?

iba yun.. im not the type na manira but the owner of that place is a bit of a dick to talk to.. kung newbie ka and havnt been around the block.. maloloko ka nyan.. in fact.. parang ma hypnotize ka.. hahahah ako nga na hypnotize eh..

the Philippine martial arts comunity is very small.. and the mixed martial arts and BJJ comunity is even smaller.. almost sira na reputation nyan.

comming from that store.. deretro ka lang papunta ng gilmore.. you cant miss K1 Extreme. The owner of the store is a member of Deftac.. Gracie Barra. and is an legit instructor of Muay Thai and also Sarian. In fact he trains some of the fighters of Deftac.. names like.. Richard Lasprilla, Marcus Valda, Fritz Rodriguez just to name a few.

  11. wag naman sana si machida agad haha! Sana si houston alexander na lang or yung mga hindi kilala haha..

btw, i'm looking for old PRIDE and UFC fight videos. Kahit yung compilations lang ng mga fights per tournament. Naghahanap ako sa mga video stores na sikat pero wala sila dun. URCC lang ung merong sila. Can anyobne suggest a good place where i could find the videos? Thanks!

The best place to go to is K1 extreme sports.. its near elorde at gilmore.. just before th stoplight of santolan road going towards greenhills.. samay gilmore yan.. complete sila from pride 1 up untill the last pride matches that were fought in the US.. also complete sila sa lahat ng UFC.. Bodog fight.. TUF season 1-4.. ADCC and alot of other stuff like instructionals eto number nila:

    7264681

    look for Jaime or Jerome..

they sell martial arts gear also and is the official store of Gracie Barra Filipinas..

Alternatively.. sa metrowalk there is this store called Horney Devil.. they will accomodate your inquiry per order basis.
