Got a gift of sibut in sachet.

Just dunk it in boiling stock till ready to serve.

Though flavor is milder than usual but turns the stock to mid dark brown.

That's the color. But for our sibut, we get it in Binondo. My aunt happens to know the one who ships them here. It's that particular sibut that we love using because it's got the right smell, no sweetness, and the right color... All with just one pack.

Sana pala bumili muna ako sa Shopwise ng sibut. (Although I'm not recommending the sibut sold sa Shopwise hah). Just for the sake... Lol

My friend and I were looking for something new to try in Cubao when we saw this... Souper Hot at Shopwise beside KFC.

I love soups,so without a second thought, we entered and checked what's inside. There were cold items of shrimp balls, lobster balls, the usual... Plus some veggies of bokchoy, cabbage, and the likes for the greeneries. To add were noodles too. Then you choose the broth of your soup.

As soon as I saw SIBUT, without a doubt, I chose it. And even explained to my friend what taste to expect and how smell will be like. She gave me the floor with what to put in our order.

Crab stuff and shrimp stuff (my automatic), also added sotanghon, beef tendon, some mushrooms... And of course, chose sibut. And then it went to the weighing scale to know how much we've accumulated.

But disappointed was I when it was served. It's not what I was expecting at all. The smell and the color should be standard testament for it to be sibut for the broth... But no. Masmalasa pa ang nilagang pork sa sabaw nya. Lame... So lame.

And I was thinking na baka kasi iniisip nila na wala naman masyado pipili ng sibut for the broth or that not all who would dine is aware of what the smell and taste of a soup with sibut is. (So maloloko ka kapag hindi ka aware talaga). Told my friend wag na kami umulit dun. Told the staff too na wala namang hint man lang na may nilagay na sibut dun sa sabaw. Tahimik lang sya.

if you know someone that has a privilege card for Cafe Ilang Ilang (Manila Hotel). That should be a good option. The card is fully transferable and the food at Ilang Ilang is actually quite good.

 

Perk for the privilege card ???? If two of you dine in the buffet, you pay for only one.

 

Spiral also has privilege card ....... but I know its strictly non-transferrable.

I know no one with those cards.

But it's gonna be a treat and I'm ready for it naman. I just want to be assured that he'll enjoy the place.

Una sa lahat, nasa lalaki na yan. Kahit naman pag babae eh. But in the middle of it all, if you're the one giving the reason for him to stray, minsan pag nangibabaw ang emotions and ego nya, he just might start being unfaithful.

Kaya important talaga ang communication and yung sensitive ka sa needs nya. Same goes for women naman eh. Hindi ba nagrereklamo din minsan ang girls pag hindi pinansin yung effort man lang na nag-ayos for the guy, or you wore an outfit na hindi mo usual or favorite color nya?

Ako isang thing na before naiinis ako was pag tumitingin sya sa iba. Nagwawalk out ako pag ganun or magagalit bigla sa kanya. But after some years, I learned to deal with it. Ako na sometimes yung magtuturo ng babae sa kanya, then sya na yung magcocomment instead na ako. It may seem like a strategy, but for my case, siguro na-outlive ko na yung part na nagagalit or may walk out ako. That way hindi din kelangan mapressure nung guy na suyuin ako or walang "eksena" di ba? Little things pero if you'll think of it, it's like telling or giving the impression na wala kang tiwala sa guy. And ano yun, may mild insecurity ba ako sa sarili ko kaya ayoko sya tumitingin sa iba? Tama ba ako o tama ba ako? Hahaha... But it makes sense di ba?

I do hope their portions aren't US size.

It'll be expensive.

Nice! With Niu kasi almost same na yung Food Spread nya with Vikings except a few plus lamang lang sa Liquor si Niu.

 

Yung Piano na lang din nagpapa-sosyal kay Niu.

 

Never tried Niu. The most will be Vikings.

If Budget is not an Issue, Go Spiral (nasa Bucket List ko kasi yan ).

 

Hindi ko pa natry Spiral. Also in my bucket list sya, that I intend to fulfill soon.

Spiral or Vikings Niu? Or any other at par type of buffet?

Yeah, I agree, kaya lang wala ng parking area. Hindi na pwede sa front nila. Kaya ayon, malayo pa ang nilalakad ko, dahil doon pa ako sa gilid ng Provensyano nag papark.

Residential kasi in general ang Maginhawa specially sa part na yan. Kaya hirap parking.

No idea who Ka Tunying is .... is he some celebrity chef that I haven't heard of ??? Anyway, my verdict ??? There are definitly better Filipino Inspired restos out there. (unless dried out crispy pata is your thing)

This is gonna be a suggestion for home cooked fried chicken, but it's what we use for breading at home.

Try Mert chicken breading. I get to buy it in the market. I think Puregold also has it.

Just mix it with the chicken 30 minutes to one hour before frying. No other else to add.

But for restaurants... I always got my taste buds on KFC Hot n Crispy. Thigh part please.

Yeah. But unfortunately this happens when some resto's (especially Samgyup Resto's) has this policy that requires at least 2 people before you can avail their unli-promos.
