Congratulations to the Rockets... Many thought the streak would end against the Lakers, they proved them wrong.

Hopefully they continue proving doubters wrong and advance past the 1st round in the playoffs.

I believe their momentum (started with the help of Yao) and new found confidence in their play (specially the rookies and role players... ) is carrying them through the games...

Hopefully it carries them through the rest of March..

Anything can happen in the playoffs... We've already seen 1st seeds getting blown out in the first round by 8th seeds. So there's still a chance the Rockets can advance (as long as McGrady's back doesn't give).

OMG! 16 straight wins. 4-0 since Yao's injury. Really a surprising run by the Rockets!

Mutumbo is a better defender and rebounder than Yao Ming.

 

In his last 3 games he is averaging 3.3 pts, 8 rebs & 4 blocks on 21min playing time.

While I agree that Mutombo is a much better defender, come playoff time I think Houston would need another reliable scorer.

Plus I don't think that additional playing time for Mutombo will be good for him. I believe that the 20-25mins he plays a game is just enough for him to play efficiently. Anymore minutes and I think he would be a liability. That's why I think the stepping up of players like Landry and Scola are crucial in Houstons campaign run into the playoffs.

Gotta give some love to the houston rockets they are surviving without Yao.

Old man Mutombo is holding down the fort pretty good, as well as the rookies. :cool:

Pure bad luck. The rockets are finally playing good basketball then they go on the miss their biggest asset.

Specially now that the trade deadline is over, no chance of getting some help in the middle.

Although, Mutombo filled in nicely for Yao the last game. I don't think he can be consistent enough to play that level in his age.
