Aaah, okay2x. But in terms of growth?

Don't think of it as an investment. Instead, look at it as future protection for your family should you bite the dust earlier than expected.

MP2 naman, stuck for five years.

So anong option nating mga may pre-existing condition na hindi ma-approve for life insurance?

SPVUL is Single-Pay VUL. Cough up the money nga lang.

Sinasabi nya na UNITY ung gusto nya mangyari but as far as I know maraming galit sa Marcos. How can he convince na isantabi ung galit? Madalas pa mga professionals in their field ung galit sa Marcos.

I didn't think it will resurface but good thing it did.

Today SPY down 1.7%.  Bought some SPY to take advantage of the much needed cooling of this hot market.

Sir, namimimiss na kitang kausap :)

Tagal ko ring nawala dito dahil naguluhan na ako sa mga pagbabago sa forum...at may bantay na kasi ako hahahaha

Anyway, I still continue with my personal finance planning.

So far, SALN-wise, nagulat ako kasi roughly 3.5M na pala net value ko as of Jan. 2, 2022. Far cry from my value ten years ago noong isang kahig, isang tuka lang ako.  Far cry from the day I opened this very thread.

Investing-wise, from the dismal dip in the stock market last 2020, umangat na by 200K ang portfolio value ko. I'm going for dividend investing para may passive income ako. Add the dividends from REITs, yey!

Projection is 5 years.

Adulting sucks, but there is a sense of satisfaction knowing I'm being responsible.

Crossing my fingers for a prosperous 2022 and beyond.

    Cheers!!!!!!!!!! :)

  7. Thanks Neville

I have a separate fund of 50k for emergency use.

Is it too risky to put all of my 100k to the stock market? I haven't tried it yet but I was encouraged due to the high returns showed to me by my colleagues.

I still haven't listed my short, medium, & long term goals. I wanted to learn & act the way how Warren Buffet do his things, the way he is successful with his investments.

If you lose your job or any income source, can you survive on 50k for three months or more? Do you have a monthly budget?

Study the different investment instruments before you dip your fingers in them. Losses are bigger if you engage in the stock market or cryptocurrency market if you don't understand how they work. Don't plunk your money in them just because your friend earned a lot. What he or she may not have told you is the amount of paper losses he/she acquired due to bad decisions when investing or trading.

Determine your financial situation first. If you have debts, you need to pay them. Then determine your financial goals. The timeline will tell you what investment best fits your goal.

Don't. Just don't put your money in an investment just because somebody said he earned a lot.

  8. Hello guys,

Can I ask where are you most likely to put up your 100k savings?

Am already near my 30s and haven't started building my passive income yet. Reality slapped me last year when I had COVID and didn't have enough savings to cover medication if situation got worse but good thing I was able to recover after a month.

    Any suggestions would greatly help.

Notes: I was able to reduce my expenses for about 30% last Q4. And already learning about stock market but haven't invested yet.

If the 100K is strictly your emergency funds, compute for three months' worth first. The remaining amount, you can place in a high yield savings account or time deposit. It should be liquid at all times.

Rework your budget so that you can allot a specific amount for investing. Never make your emergency funds as your investment seed money.

Start off with looking at your financial status. Then, list down your financial goals, and based on your current income, calculate your retirement fund. Then you can adjust your budget to accommodate your savings stash and investment allotment. Match the investment instrument with the financial goal you listed. These instruments should be able to meet your short, medium, and long-term goals.

  9. Good job on collating spreadsheet and getting a better view of your financial position.

I do this as well as i set it up via googlesheets so i can get daily report of my networth (atleast on my ETF position). Our only debt is my wife's student loan which is not huge.

Nice one!

So far so good.

  10. Finally. I managed to make my own personal statement of assets and liabilities. I'm 95% complete. I have yet to figure out how to compute the growth and decline of all my investments, as well as create a graph showing a 10 year projection starting from 2020.

I'm ready to show my thick excel file to the registered financial planners I will get in touch with. That and the questions I have in my head.

Thanks to the pandemic, I am finally solidifying setting aside and investing the money I allocate for buying my own house. The room I live in is beginning to give me cabin fever. I need some breathing room. Most importantly, I realized how hard it is to live away from my sister and her kids.

So far, I am in the positive. Adding up all the values of my portfolios against my payables and card debts, I remain a millionaire. On paper. :D

If everything goes right with my cash flow, I will be a cold cash millionaire in 2028. How to make it faster is the question I will pose to the RFP.

    Maligayang Pasko, boys.

  11. That's the way Donya N! Compromise. Something that works for between your needs and wants. :) Post ka po pic ng nabili mo ha.. :)

Will do. I bought a body pillow and a regular pillow from Dakki via Shopee. I'm waiting for the shipment. :)

In other news, I bought PhP 5,000 worth of Premyo Bonds. The said bonds are only at 1.00% net and is good for 1 year. Minimum investment is PhP 500.00

These bonds do not meet my financial goals at all. But they do let me help the government in funding its projects. And hey, I'd be happy when I do get to win even the PhP50,000.00 quarterly raffle prize. Winning the bigger prizes are of course, a big bonus.

There is a car as part of the jackpot, but honestly, I'm happy with the PhP1M major prize :)

    Kanina ko lang naisip.

Compromise.

Mix and match the dirt cheap and insanely expensive ones. Prioritize what needs to be expensive and buy what can be bought cheaply.

    Okay na yon, ano? :)

  13. Fishing for your opinions. Humor me, guys. :)

My pillows and bed linens are due for replacement. My original option is to buy online from Dakki (a local brand known for selling reasonably priced pillows and linens). The quality's okay for its price. Think everyday, hampas lupa pillows....

Then I dropped by Rustan's Department Store this morning. I checked the pillows and linens. The prices were at least four times that of Dakki's. But the sales girl was right: they feel like what you'll find in good three to four star hotels. The linens, especially. I've been to a business hotel in Cebu City and the pillows were to die for. Sarap ng tulog ko.

My pillows now give me stiff neck days when I wake up on the wrong side of my mattress.

Case in point: Dakki's Body Pillow cost 800 pesos. Rustan's will charge me 2800 pesos.

The regular pillows are bigger than the pillows I use now. The firm ones are 5K, I think. The in-between soft and firm is 6K. Dakki's regular-sized pillows, which are a little smaller is around 300 pesos.

But the expensive ones do feel like the pillows in really good hotels.

I can find the budget for these pillows and linens, if I want. For me, it's a question of whether I want to enjoy that unbelievable sleep every night or if i want to prioritize the cost and hate my pillows on some occasions.

If I throw in my sister's argument, I should spend so much when I finally have my own place...And from the rate I'm going, it will be at least 10 years before I can finally afford to buy the place that is really to my liking.

    What do you think?
