@ abdullah- i also had/hav severe GERD,pro mas nging beter n xa compared to my then condition. vomitting,heartburn and all d stuff was my daily routine. it was even hard for me to sleep due to heartburn datz y laging mtaas ung unan ko if not pwede xa irecline. but when i started taking in nexium,ranitidine and maalox religiously, plus i controlled my eating habit( agree to xwhiteshadowz, no spices,no alcohol,no caffeine,no cigarettes,not even milk coz it has higher acid content), my health prob became better,nalessen ung sliples nyts,heartburn,hiccup and swelling of my esophagus. i constantly had my chek up with my gastro specialist,had me endoscopied for several times and gave me proper meds according to d severity of my GERD.and actually,endoscopy is just a away of knowing kng gaano kalaki damage.

sabi din nla(according to forums and to my doc,d daw curable ang GERD. d ko lng lam now kng my ndiscover na. even if u go through the operation,d rin daw guaranteed,dats y my frnd in d US who also has dis, did not pursue the operation. instead,nging disiplinado n lng xa s eating habits and prescriptions nya. ayon,umayos nmn xa,though every now and den bmbalik which is d maiwasan,especially s case nya.

and to add it up, look at me now, ang dating GERD patient for 3 yirs e nkakayosi n ule,alak and name it. pro with control nmn at pg nkakaramdam n kong aatake n nmn xa,inuman ko n agad ng maalox. payo lng,do not depend on wat advance science(operation or watnot) can promise u,depend on ur ability to control. nakz nkpgsalita ang taong nhhrapang mgcontrol! hahaha.

napatawa ako dito hehehe.. im concerned on the gastroesophageal issue and bakit madali mabali at masira...smoking kasi tend to lower the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter..this is an anatomical valve that prevents the regurgitation or backflow of the stomach contents...so since your smoking..there is a great possibility that this may happen to you..besides sa effect ng yosi na increase and prodcution ng acid sa stomach..it will also contribute to the reflux of the acid to the esophagus causing damage to your esophagus and if reaching the oral cavity this may also damage the teeth...frequent reflux to the esophagus is not healthy since the esophagus have a different cellular make way too different from the stomach which can handle acidity...modification of the cells in the esophagus may start an error in cell formation resulting to dysplasia which may progress to cancer...smoking also cause vasoconstriction of peripheral blood vessels.. so theoretically... wag muna sana yosi since your wound needs good blood flow for repair/cleaning debris like bacteria o dead cells.. just my opinion...hth
