  1. Hindi, bro. The Dead Milkmen yung artist ng 'The Beach Song'. The actual lyrics go, 'I don't wanna be on the beach (no fun, no)' repeated a lot of times. He he. This was played heavily on NU 107 when they were still new and played new wave. Circa 1988 yun.

  7. Hi, just sharing The Housemartins' The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death and The Soup Dragons' Soft As Your Face. Uploaded them at the 80s site. :)

    love those two songs....

i'll try to upload soup dragons other songs such as freedom and divine thing and also housemartins think for a minute... this is my personal favorite, love the message behind its lyrics...

  8. I respect - and I use respect very loosely here - artists/bands who put their own little twist to the songs they revive. At least they give the effort to make the song their own. What pisses me off is the proliferation of revivals in the local scene nowadays that offer no real change from the originals.

My pet peeve now is the murdering of Nakapagtataka by some loser band whose name I don't care to remember. Parang naghulog lang sila ng limang-piso sa videoke sabay kanta. No rearrangement, no creativity, no nothing...

And don't get me started with the trend of turning any random song bossa. Recently I heard Prinsesa sung this way. Sakit sa ulo.

Talent is clearly missing in the so-called artists being spewed out by record labels nowadays and their incessant rehashing of songs is undeniable proof.

i agree with... like when christian bautista made a revival or covered how can i fall by the breathe... that sucks...

on foreign bands... if you have seen well i think most of us here have seen 51st day... the revival of new wave songs were given a new twist by the bands that covered ... and it's wonderful to hear them and comparing them with the original ones... they did not 'murderize' the songs.....

  9. LOVE LESS

There was a time I called before,

When all I knew was what I saw.

The keeper of a major key,

I lived in a town called Liberty.

I worked hard, to give you all the things that you need,

And almost anything that you see.

I spent a lifetime working on you,

And you won't even talk to me.

    Can't you see?

Why don't you look at me?

It's not your right to be so much my enemy.

I knew that I could never give,

You knew that you could not forgive.

No price or pride would fall before

A ten foot wall without a door.

But you know, I watch every step you can make,

To find some other fool you can take.

And I don't know why I even try,

Because it all comes down to this...

    Can't you see?

Why don't you look at me?

It's not your right to be so much my enemy.

    Can't you see?

Why don't you look at me?

It's not your right to be so much my enemy.

I worked hard, to give you all the things that you need,

And almost anything that you see.

I spent a lifetime working on you,

And you won't even talk to me.

  10. Bubble Gum Pop Acts Mostly Boybands and the like. No offense meant to those who like the Backstreet Boys, Westlife and other groups of this genre of music but i find their music unartistic and shallow.

Other than these boy and girl bands I also hate artistas here sa Pinas who try their luck at singing without having any talent at all and just try to cash in on the popularity they have already gained by being in the movies or tv. Case in point, Gretchen Barretto and Ara Mina who are both as hot as hell but can't sing a damn and oh yes Piolo Pascual. I mean WTF?!!!

Alysanna Alano is one hot babe, but....

and just saw this group on tv the other, i forgot their name, but they dress out in suit and tie and they sing like the hell is going after them....

  11. im fond of mostly 80s soundtrack. did anyone mentioned break the ice - john farnham? sa movie na RAD yun. one of my fave 80s flick! cru jones yeah! hehehe

i remember that movie.... nice sets of songs for that one....

candy on pocket - forgot the singer but its from Drew Barrymore's hit movie : Never Been Kissed.

mwah, would you be generous if you if you have a copy of my boyfriend is a communist... been looking for that one since early 90's...
