Most probably, kung maglalaban sila lahat, kasparov will emerge as the winner but not because he is superior in skills. Kasi syempre natuto na sya sa previous generations of players kaya lamang sya sa theory...may access sya sa high quality master games, chess playing programs (fritz, hiarcs, junior), databases....tapos uso na ngaun sa chess ung seconds tsaka analysis teams -- e wala namang ganun nung panahon nina capablanca at alekhine...kanya kanya lang nun....mahirap talaga i compare kapag di naman kayo magkasama sa isang era.... pero let's say na pare pareho cla ng birth date tapos sabay sabay itinuro sa kanila ung moves ng chess....pareho ng training, ng study materials at dami ng practice....ibig sabihin, except for natural talent....all other things are equal....if this is the case....then i would bet on either capablanca or paul morphy.....c capa, 4 years old pa lang...na figure out na nya ung rules sa panonood lang ng ilang games ng tatay nya......ung first game nila sya pa ang nanalo.....c paul morphy naman, naglalaro nung 1800's pero ung modern principle ng game.....kitang kita na sa laro nya.....parang taga year 2009 na sya....

I like Kasparov and Anand. Who is better, I think Kasparov though I would still root for Anand.

Prolly Kasparov. Fischer lived off weak oppositions and the lack of powerful computers that can analyze a couple mill combinations a minute. The power of today's chess (computer) programs are unprecedented and with the advent of the internet, may have made the woodpushers of today more technically superior and adept than in Fischer's time. Fischer like Ali, is not necessarily the best in their fields, they just lived off the notoriety of their maverick and eccentric personalities which the media of their times romanticized and had been enamored with...

 

Magnus Carlsen, for his age holds a promise too for that distinction--who knows..
