I only collect R1 DVDs that I really like, otherwise I just wait for a sale and buy the R3 counterpart...

When I was overseas, All of my DVD's were R1 only

All ordered from Amazon.com

But since returning home, all recently purchased DVD's are now RQ (Region Quiapo) hehehehe!

I collect R1 DVDs for movies i like. I have already completed Star Wars, LOTR, Spiderman, etc.

Me too, most of my dvd titles came from RQ and are R0. Marami din naman akong orig dvd, mostly documentaries.

Any genre you collect in particular?

i'm a collector too.... i mostly collect anime dvd.... i got the complete box set of kimagure orange road, dna2, ruro ni kenshi and few good movies like the trilogy of LOTR, Matrix, fast and the furious 1&2 and the just newly realeased Chronicles of Narnia :P

retro movies from 1900-1980 are those that are good to buy and masarap i collect un lang nga kahit pirated you have to order, but If It takes too long I just buy an orig sa may music one mga nasa 400-500 ung orig na dvd pde na

i thnk i have surpassed the 200 mark. collects from different genres. but barely seen them.
my philisophy would be better that i have it and watch it when i feel like it rather than borrown and find out that its been rented out. a frustratng thing it would be.
am partial to comedies and science fiction and oh horror movies.

for my favorite sci-fi or fantasy movies i always buy either in R1 or R3 format, basta orig. for so-so movies that i just want to watch to k*ll time i just buy the RQ (region quiapo).

1. Band of Brothers
2. Das Boot (German war movie)
3. Downfall "Der Untergang" (German war movie on Hitler's last days)
4. Stalingrad (German war movie)
5. Cross of Iron
6. Saving Private Ryan
7. Manila: Open City (Eddie Romero's movie, 1968)
8. As Trumpets Fade

Western:
1. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (Clint Eastwood)

Eddie Romero's Horror B-Movies from the late 60s/early 70s: (They have quite a following here in the US and are featured in Chillers' Conventions every year.)
1. Mad Doctor of Blood Island Trilogy
2. Terror is a Man

Animation:
1. The Critic (featuring John Lovitz)
