Interesting. I'm an IT manager for one of the largest users of SAP in the Phils and am also a certified (no longer practicing though) SAP BW consultant. I wonder if I could find potential hires here ... funny thought but ey, in the age of Social Networking ...

Although given the number of views this thread has generated, I don't think there are too many SAP consultants or wannabe consultants around.

Again failed to edit my original post ... seems there's a window in which you can edit and I spent too much time writing the following quick impression:

Knowledge Sharing huh ... have looked at SAP's recently acquired Business Objects Business Intelligence suite and found it a far superior product to the old BW BEx Analyzer that we've been using for some time. Though BW is still better in performing ETL loads from predominantly SAP ERP OLTP systems, Business Objects is much better in dealing with non-SAP data sources. Also, for reporting flexibility capability, B. Objects allows you to maintain an persistent class of data objects that you can easily reuse across different infocubes, whereas in BW you'd have to create these info objects for every new infocube which greatly increases the time required for the generation of new reports.

As for the UI itself, anyone who's ever used BEx or the Web Application Designer will tell you that its a pain in the butt to use. The B. Objects UI is much more user friendly. Hard to describe without screenshots, so just take my word for it, or take a look at the new product yourself.

Bad news is that B. Objects requires a separate license. Sigh ... that's SAP for you.

SOLITUDE00! You seem to be very TECHNICAL and ACADEMIC at the SAME TIME! You are right! We barely are 900 CERTIFIED SAP PROFESSIONALS in the Philippines and the MARKET needs atleast 6000 more to cover all SAP CUSTOMERS' needs. With this SCARCITY plus the BRAIN DRAIN due to ALLURING OFFERS outside, hindi kataka-taka na kakaunti lang ang bibisita sa TOPIC na ito dahil karamihan ay wala na ring oras pa para dito unless you are in the MANAGEMENT LEVEL.

You can PM me your MOBILE NUMBER so we can schedule a MEETUP if you want so we can talk more about the TECHNOLOGY and about OPPORTUNITIES. So far, I have just completed a BI 7.0 UPGRADE & ROLL-OUT plus some UNICODE CONVERSION sidetasks abroad. We can share KNOWLEDGE if you wish to. I have with me some CERTIFIED BIW CONSULTANTS as well if you are open for STAFF AUGMENTATION PROJECTS. Cheers!

SAP boys pala tong grupo nina sir gimmick! :D dami pera..hehehehe

888INFINITY888! Hindi naman gaano. Pantay-pantay lang naman tayo. Iisa lang naman din ang gusto natin... ang sumaya at magpasaya! Cheers!

just wondering if anyone here has implemented a SAP Business Connector module? it uses SOAP/xml to provide b2b connections for non SAP applications. kinda need a few technical inquiries about it since there seems to be very few resources on the internet regarding this module.

FRUITLOOPS2K3! I think I have posted a year ago some related articles at ITTOOLBOX and at SDN.SAP.COM. You can also check some of the known SAP FORUM SITES. If I have time, I will post here a relevant writeup to your query. May I know what is your area of expertise as to SAP? Cheers!

Okay guys, I'm a long time linux network administrator. I used to program databases in the dbase days. It sounds like there is a lot of money being an SAP consultant. So can you put me in the right direction?

Where do I get training and certification?

How much? And what prospective rackets to get?

Hi experts, I would like to inquire paano yun set up sa company laptop na pwede rin maka access offsite. Do we need an additional VPN license for that?

Our system is also SAP. We also have Lawson.

Thanks sa sasagot. :)

You use SAProuter for WAN access to your SAP system. No additional license afaik. Check with your BASIS person/team for the details.
