Ben.Dover
Here are my experiences in Metro Manila: 1. PLDT (Pasig)- more than 10 years with my parent's house. Generally ok connection. Main problem sometimes you need to restart the router because sometimes there is no connection. Worst problem was last 2 weeks of December there was connection problem because hardware issue setup outside and took then January to fix it. It also 2 weeks complaining from going to the branch offices, landline call, email, and FB Messenger. Planning to disconnect the internet and leave the landline number intact. Also a concern is that if you buy or have a WIFI mesh that is not from PLDT it would not work or you need call PLDT to be able to use it (Not sure just based on experience). 2. Sky (Mandaluyong/Pasig) - more than 5 years. Was my main ISP in Mandaluyong since last year. Good connection sometimes speed drops. There is a service advisory when there is maintenance. It is rare if there is a disconnection. The issue is contacting their service center no more landline number mostly via email, fb messenger, or twitter. So if you are not tech savvy you will have hard time contacting their service center. Notice that when using VPN for work and personal VPN sometime it disconnects to the internet. 3. Converge (Mandaluyong/Pasig) - less than a year. now my main ISP in Mandaluyong and backup in Pasig. Good Connection since new and seldom in Pasig not have notice any issues yet. Compare to other router it has a wider range. No issue setting up WIFI mesh. No issue with VPN. since less than a year I haven't experience issues from long time users or subscribers. Minor issue their app can't handle multiple accounts. Quote Link to comment

SDMNXIX
Sa area ko, PLDT. Pero ok din Globe kaso lng ang bagal magrespond sa applications. Particular tlga sa area kung anong ISP ang mabilis. Sa ibang area, pwedeng iba ang mabilis na ISP. You have to check, try nyo magtanong sa mga neighbors nyo. Also, always go for fiber, wag na ung dsl (copper). Make sure na tunay na fiber, minsan sa mga marketing nila baka maloko kayo. Quote Link to comment
abduljackolsalsalani
PLDT. Tested Starlink, not satisfied. Ok lang sya pag mountainous regions siguro or areas na existing infrastructures. Pag umuulan wala na halos parang 2g na speed. Quote Link to comment

Yes this is actually true and best advice anyone can give kapag pilian na ng ISP. Each ISP performs different per area ( per box to be more precise ). Di porket okay XXX ISP sa bahay ng kaibigan mo it would translate to the same experience sayo pag pinakabit mo yon. PS : pag nagpapakabit, padulasan ang installer na "itago" yung line nyo sa box para di mabiktima ng hugot-kabit pag puno na ang box Quote Link to comment
BlackHunter2019
The right answer to this question is that different locations have different possible internet performance and experience. At the moment, sa mga telco providers that offer to residential areas, PLDT and Globe have direct connection palabas ng bansa. And from there, before the connection reached the houses, dadaan eto ng several regional and local exchange hubs. Tapos from the exchange hubs, dadaan pa eto ng mga trunk sections so imagine the path na dinadaan ng data. Each of these paths may routing configuration. tapos ibat ibang klase (brand, make and model) ng mga network switches and routers and ginagamit. Tapos pag dating pa sa trunk section (which is normally the last major network access point bago sa houses), possibleng marami kayong naghahati sa isang trunk. So before you choose a telco or internet provider, ask people in the area kung ano gamit nila and what is their experience. You ask also kung madalas nag da down service. These are valuable info later on for you. It would also be good if you can have 2 telco / internet providers kc all of them will have problems from time to time and kung ginagamit mo siya sa work, crucial to have a backup.
