Comedy Bar..

Recommended Posts

comedy bars aren't exactly my cup of tea...like a friend from another thread said, "ang hirap makipagkumpitensya sa baklang nagpapatawa"...very hard to meet people in these places...unless nalang sa labas ng cr mo kilalanin...hehehe...but seriously, puro japayuki ang nakikita ko sa mga ganito...

go to mag:net katipunan every thursday night to see S.P.I.T. (silly people's improv theatre). P150 entrance buys you a beer and a lot of laughs. went there for their last performance last year and also performed with them once a looooong time ago. they're super fun and not at all crass and cheap like the comedians in the other comedy clubs. :)

Just went to that comedy club near the corner of Buendia and Roxas Blvd (Jan. 9, 2007) - FUNLINE....

my 1st time to go to a comedy bar in the Phil. in ages.

Well, Tuesday would be an off-night for any club, but the gay comedians were a shocker for my wife and I. We're not prudes but...whew...anyway, something different. But I would not be able to stomach this type of 'comedy' on a regular basis. We had complimentary entrance tickets - guess what?, they gave us free tickets again to visit again. BUSINESS MUST BE BAD!

It wasnt bad - actually, tawa naman kami. But the leve of sophistication in the jokes, the entire bawdiness and downright superficial nature....di ko masyadong trip. I think I would prefer comedians with a little more flair and better routine - wala na ba sina Gary Lising, Nanette Inventor ...I sound like I'm talking from my generation past...

Oh well, at least Boobsie and the Gang there sang "Leaving on a Jet Plane" before we actually board the plane the next day...

CHEERS!

if you guys wanna come on a comedy bar and don't wish to get yourself waiting... be there before the main show starts at 9pm. All comedy bars along Quezon Ave. start at those time..

Entrance are commonly priced at P250 (on regular days) and high up when there are guess bands or celebrities. Usually its not more than P500.

ok din yung show...di nga lang ganun kasikat yung mga performers. no hold bar sa mga jokes. halos lahat ng puro green jokes! hehe mapababae ka man o lalake tlgang pagttripan ka.. :D

di pa ulit nakakabalik..balik nga ulit ako dun..hehe sana nga lng di pa nagbabago entrance fee nila... :D

i think your observation is entirely correct. i have seen one show 5 years ago and definitely not going to waste time to see another one even for free. it is primarily a watering hole with an entertainment catered to the occasion. usapang lasing kung baga. most of these pseudo entertainers are just there for the money and lacked the humor in their life and necessary formal education. it is rather pathetic considering that a lot of filipino entertainers have lived and worked overseas one would wonder what they have gained intellectually. also with the internet, it is very easy just to see how the international professionals do it and learn from it. i look forward to see the economy gets better so we can afford have "imports" even balikbayans.

so far madalang na lang tlaga ung natural comedian ngaun!!!and yung mga gays stand up comedian ngaun yung mga customer na ang pnagtititripan pero kung tutuusin eh natural na sa gay ung mag okray sa kapwa nya!!!!!kaya pag 1st tym ka lang sa bandang likod kna pumuwesto!!!! i had once na napanood si pooh, ok nman sya kasi sarili nya naman ang pinagttitripan nagkukuwento lng sya tungkol sa sarili nya about his life pero nakkatuwa at lalo na nang ini spoof nya si manny paquiao!!!
