  1. Actually when you get into the minds of these "serial debtors", kapag lumapit sila sayo akala mo ikaw lang inuutangan? Baka 50 na tao inuutangan niyan. Ganyan na naging modus ng mga taong ganyan, ginawa na nilang kabuhayan. Lahat inuutangan nila on a regular basis, parang may schedule pa nga e. Kunwari 10 out of 50 magpautang ng 1K edi may additional 10K agad sila.
  2. The problem here in the Philippines is that people see generosity as a weakness they can exploit. I used to give my secretary small amounts of bonuses out of pocket whenever I get some commission. Despite this, she frequently borrows money. Initially it was just small amounts and she'd pay it back the next week. Then there came a time when she borrowed around 10K, telling me she'll use it for her buy-and-sell business. She promised to pay it back in 2 weeks. 3 months have already passed, nothing. The worst part is I saw her receive her bonus and she didn't even bother to pay even 1K or 2K. I got tired of it so last Christmas I told her to forget about it and that it's already my gift to her. But I also told her I won't be lending money to people anymore. I didn't tell her but I also stopped giving her the occasional cash gifts. I guess in the long run, I saved some money din because I already have a reason not to be generous to her. There's no use being nice here in the Philippines. People just abuse you.
  3. Walang kwenta mag "looking rich" dito. If you can get people to look at you by dressing rich in HK, Japan or the US, here people will look at you AND ask to borrow money from you.
  4. From a manager's standpoint, sakit sa ulo mga ganitong employees. It's an issue that's not even supposed to be there. Worst yung mga employees na akala mo ginagawang speed dating event ang office. You know them. Yung tipong pag may bagong employee na maganda popormahan agad. Sorry pero naapektuhan talaga ang trabaho, it's inevitable.
  5. House na lang ngayon. Mahirap na mag "hangout" ngayon isang labas lang makikita mo na lang 3-5K na nagastos mo.
  6. Pareho lang lahat yan kasi dalawang grupo lang halos mayari ng JTVs dito. They're everywhere in Malate and some are in Poblacion and Little Tokyo in Makati. Standard rate is 500 for unli-drinks for 90 minutes (900 ata pag VIP), 500 ang GRO request, 400 lang ladies drink (expect them to order at least 2-3 kasi sasabihin nila wala silang sswelduhin pag di ka nagorder). Plus food, all in all mga 2500 siguro magagastos mo for 90 minutes. Don't expect any gimmik though. The whole business model of these JTVs are to cater to lonely divorced Japanese and Korean men who just want someone to talk to.
  7. Wala nang maayos na nightlife dito. By 10PM almost everyone's heading to their hotels to sleep. You're better off just hanging out at Timog or Poblacion.
  8. This is just my opinion but it's a massive downgrade in lifestyle if you're working in Metro Manila then you're getting a house in some distant area just for the sake of having your own house and lot. Our active daytime consists of only around 12 hours. If you're throwing 2-3 hours everyday on commuting, it's no different from shortening your lifespan by 20-25%. But that's just me.
  9. Generally, you must have lived 10 years in the Philippines, graduated from a Philippine school and have an unbroken employment/income in the country for the same period. Marrying a Filipino citizen makes it a lot easier. If you're single, expect the OSG to fight tooth and nail against your application unless you have a "good" lawyer lol.
  10. If I may add, if you don't have extensive travel history, better join a Jeju Island tour group. A lot of Filipinos heading to Jeju get offloaded by the BOI.
  11. Honestly you should adjust depending on the person's interest. If she doesn't drink coffee, doesn't play arcade games or if Vikings is too low-end for her, what's the point? It's up to you para maramdaman ano interests niya before you ask her out. In any case, keep your expenses low for the first few dates. There are serial moochers out there, women who go on dates with multiple men just to get a free lakad or a free meal without any intention of dating or sleeping with you. Also kapag nag-aya ng friend nya na isasama, red-flag. Cancel that sh--. You ain't a meal voucher.
  12. If you know how to read and speak Hangeul you know they're everywhere in Seoul. Emphasis on "read and speak".
  13. Wan Chai makes our Q. Ave look like an overpriced sari-sari store. But you have to speak a bit of Mandarin at the very least.
  14. Women who only know how to take without giving anything. You have all encountered the type. They will borrow money without intending to pay for it. It's okay if they don't sleep with you but damn pay your debt. Mas respectable pa walker who will borrow money but will sleep with you. The former is literal estafa.
  15. Even Japanese people stay away from Kabukicho because not only is it a hot-bed of scams, some bars will literally spike your drinks and you'll just suddenly pass out. When you wake up they'll say you drank 500,000 yen worth of drinks and they won't make you leave. Literally worse than any bar here in PH. If you don't speak Japanese you will also be prone to billing scams. You'll suddenly see a lot of surcharges you didn't know about and they won't make you leave. Japan is generally a safe place except literally this area infested with Yakuza and Nigerian fraudsters. Soaplands are located around Asakusa. They're called "Yoshiwarai". Some of them accept foreigners but knowledge of some basic Nihongo is a must. And yes they cost an arm and a leg. Also, there's no assurance you'll be getting a Japanese girl. A lot of them are Chinese or Koreans who can speak fluent Japanese. You won't be able to tell unless you're native Japanese who can sense their accent. Ingat lang. While Japan is generally safe, it ain't a paradise and always remember it's not your country.
