GMPaul
i also do this one,.,. but as musch as possible i keep it 3hours not to smoke befoure and after,.,. mas bukas ung lungs ntin and more prone from nicotine,,.if you smoke after ur gym session it is like smoking 10 cigs at a time,.,.pro cyempre ingat2 nlang Quote Link to comment
StudAndHung
I agree with pool parrot. Since your body is still in the recovery stage, it is not recommended to smoke immediately after your workout. And indeed your lungs are open and prone to nicotine. Smoking and working out are not a good combination. i admit that i smoke but as much as possible i do it in moderation. Quote Link to comment
telemaster_311
kinakapos ako ng hininga pag nag cardio ako...yun lang naman sakin. Quote Link to comment
crazykalbo
tama kakapusin ka lang. i dont smoke so cant relate... however similar effects can be noticed with air pollution (see/read Men's Health Philippines Edition - October 2006) Quote Link to comment

noah
FOR ME, smoking after a work out is a form of relaxation both physically and mentally...just like having a cigarette after a SEX-work out... i remember when i was in the military, having a cigarette was the best thing after a looong road march or an intense jungle warfare training Quote Link to comment

noah
yup. read this article. medyo pareho nga ata ng effect.so, in a sense, almost all the people in Manila are practically smokers since they are exposed to pollution!?!? Quote Link to comment
Google
so, in a sense, almost all the people in Manila are practically smokers since they are exposed to pollution!?!? imho. technically yes. but the components of pollution in metro manila and smoking are different. for one, cigarette contains nicotene. count.D
kinakapos ako ng hininga pag nag cardio ako...yun lang naman sakin. i smoke a stick after workout. that's it. yun na yng extent ng quitting ko. 1 stick. di naman ako kinakapos ng hininga even in cardio. sabi ng gym instructor, you need to practice breathing especially if you smoke. most of the times daw smokers inhale less but exhale more, kaya kinakapos. pero di ko alam kung medical fact yun o assumption nya lang. so far naman ok lang breathing ko... Pepeng Manas
smoker din here. about 50% of the time, i smoke a stick after workout. wala naman effect sa kin. i am doing GVT now.. and GVT is a rigorous workout. i dunno... probably i could do better if i dont smoke. but anyway, mas malakas pa rin resistensya ko kumpara sa mga kasamahan ko sa gym na hindi nag-i-smoke... (thank you eclipse forum and coaches) Quote Link to comment
dyakhardy
heavy smoker ako before and nag-iba ang work-out ko when i stopped smoking, mas nakakatakbo ng malayo and nakakabuhat ng mabigat... now that's the difference... Quote Link to comment

Seyer95
- stop smoking- exercise regularly Quote Link to comment
Raman
Hehe Naks! So para sa akin, mas lalakas ka at magiging mas positive ang work-out mo pag tumigil ka magsigarilyo. Mahirap nga lang mag-quit pero para sa akin WORTH IT!!!! Quote Link to comment
sikosci
wouldnt this contradict the fact that you are working out to get a healthy body?i see people coming out of the badminton courts in the metro all sweaty then light a cigar, and im like " what the!?"...thats an early death wish dont you think? aznarak
Smoking severely limits your lung's capacity to absorb oxygen and will consequently prevent you from maximizing the benefits of weight training. Quote Link to comment
gerrylb
I used to be a heavy smoker and a regular gym goer. My weightlifting was hardly affected by my smoking, I could still keep up with just about anyone else with regard to amount of weight and number of reps. When I got older and figured endurance was more important than big muscles I shifted to a cardio program. Bam! Ten minutes on a threadmill and I thought I was gonna faint! I've since quit smoking and can now run ten kilometers in a little more than an hour. Point is, smoking will affect your aerobic (weight loss) excercise ability, but not necessarily your anaerobic (muscle building) activity. Our captain in the powerlifting team back in college was a chain smoker, but could lift more than anyone else on the team. Quote Link to comment
