Supplements - to Take or Not to Take?

For the sake of argument, I would want to elaborate further. There is no hard evidence that NO supplements are actually beneficial to actual muscle growth. In theory, dilation (increase of size) of the blood vessels may promote more nutrient uptake within the body's muscles. True enough some NO users would experience the "perpetual pump" during their workouts. However, this will never be a good guage whether you are actually gaining muscle. The concept behind NO supplements is very similar, if not derived from the concept behind Viagra. If you know how Viagra works then I'm sure that you're also aware that The Viagra induced "growth" and "stiffness" is only temporary and doesn't have a permanent/growth promoting effect that will leave you with a "bigger" member eventually. I hope you get what I mean.

 

Moreover, you build muscle outside of the gym while recovering and not during working out when you're actually inducing stress to your muscular and cardio-vascular system. Thus, I'm not really convinced that the "added" pump actually has a benefit in actual muscle gain.

 

NO Xplode is actually a mix of arginine (for NO), some forms of creatine and stimulants (caffein and etc.). Caffein will surely make you more energetic. As for creatine, I think you know what this stuff already can do. All in all, NO Explode was and has been marketed as a "pre-workout" tool. Something virtually not existent before. I personally have tried this product and found it great in increasing my training intensity. The pumps where great. But at the end of the day, I'd still prioritize post workout nutrition.

 

But hey, if this stuff works great for you then great! :thumbsupsmiley:

 

Just my opinion..

 

NOX is not the best muscle builder, but it is one of the best energy boosters out there.

 

Besides, since its your first tie using it, the effects could still be placebo

 

Can't argue with you guys, since I admit I havent really researched on NOX, I tried the product upon the recommendation of my gym buds and some quick reads and review (although matagal ko na talaga gusto i-try gumamit ng NOX since 2007 pa).. but so far, my initial impression is that it works for me, as far as increasing the weights im lifting and muscle growth, it may be just a placebo effect on my muscle growth as what Oly have mentioned but sice I just started to try the product, I can't really tell for sure now, We'll see tho in a few weeks. :thumbsupsmiley:

I actually got to try NOx thanks to the sponsor of the athletes I train and I have tried other NO products. This product is by far the best one in the market.

 

Another good product I have tried is ultimate nutrition's horsepower. it literally turned me into a beast. All the assistant coaches at the gym were shocked at how strong I got using this product. Stacked with pro-complex gainer and following a template similar to what Joe Defanco used, i gained 9 lbs of muscle in 7 weeks

I would like to try this as it was also recommended by a friend. Earlier I checked one GNC here in KSA & it was out of stock. This will be my first time to try whey protein since I started working out July last year.

im working out for about a month and have been taking hydroxycut hc, so far so good

 

just a question to the vets/experts:

my main goal is weight loss and body toning, will it be alright to take whey protein along with HHC while doing my routine cardio/weight training? and what whey protein brand can you recommend that impacts primarily weight loss and muscle building? im looking at some brands from philsupplements but its quite confusing for a beginner.

for my training program i go 3-4 (the latter at most) per week, working on upper/lower splits alternately

ive been on a low carb/fat diet since sept last year, just decided to finally hit the gym since my body is beginning to sag from the lost weight, i made the mistake of doing exclusively cardio and underestimated the benefits of muscle work until recently

 

for the past month i was really surprised with how progressive weight training combined with my usual cardio impacted the inches really quick, body's firming up and i was wondering if i can add whey along with the usual HHC burner without compromising my weight loss/toning program

Low carb/fat is actually something that may backfire in the long run.

 

Care to elaborate in more detail your eating plan?

Can I let go of the Casein and just drink Pro-Complex before sleeping?

Bale instead of drinking Pro-Complex before and after workout, I'd be drinking Whey. tapos Pro-Complex before bed.

 

I heard kasi na medyo mabagal din mag-digest yung Pro-Complex (?)

 

As I told you before, no need to drink any protein before working out, after lang ok na.

 

The take the pro complex before sleeping.

 

Pro complex isn't slow... Mix nga sha. Its 7 proteins so there are fast and slow proteins.

I am taking Optimum Nutrition's WHEY Protien ( Double Choco) and AMINO Supreme 2222.

 

So far it really helped me BULK up and gain strength,...although the WHEY doesnt taste as good as products from Cyto Sports' Muscle Milk and BSN's Syntha 6.

 

Mahirap pati i swallow ( ay bastos,..I dont do that,..LOLS) ung AMINO 2222 since they are really,...HUGE capsules.....

You can try replacing your evening meal with a scoop of whey protein.

I use to do this when i was at the same goal as you are right now.

I have lost 50 lbs. just doing that.

 

Plus having a good workout routine.

for builing muscles. i was just wondering that it is usually the firt supplements introduce to every newbie. but havent found any genuine testimonial about it. all there were are promotional articles or advertisement. also if i remember it right, eclipse guy did not mention amino on his recommended supplements in eclipse gym website.
