Supplements - to Take or Not to Take?

Recommended Posts

i tried creatine also, got kidney problems, coz i was not hydrated at that time due to gym and bball at the same time

Dude, and for those all creatine users: Creatine monohydrate is basically creatine bonded to a salt molecule (monohydrate). Simple chemistry will tell you that salts can be dissolved in solutions and crystalize back when there's insufficient solvent or in this case; water. Creatine users are suggested to maintain or even increase water intake for 2 reasons: 1.) To promote "cell volumization" or simply increase water holding within muscles and 2.) To get rid of excess creatinine (creatine waste by-product) thru our excretory system. In my personal experience, I see to it that I empty 1 galon to a galon and a half water whenever I'm taking creatine based supplements.

  • 2 weeks later...

recently i started taking mega mass (the one like sustagen) because i wanted to gain weight so i won't be really skinny when i take up BJJ classes. my question is, is it really effective? i'm not a health buff nor a gym goer & i'm really starting from scratch here, if any of you guys can share on how i can "mass up" i would really appreciate your help ^_^

i'm 5'9" & only 120 lbs so i'd say i'm reed thin, i haven't started lifting weights since i don't know what & how much weights i should lift (help on this matter is also welcome)

thank you for help & i'm expecting your replies on the matter ^_^

Try eating more. Mega mass is just full of sugar and for some people, you'll just end up with an unset stomach and bad gas.

There are a lot of gainers out there that are 10x better than mega fat oops i mean mega mass

ahehehehe care to share what they are? i eat a lot my metabolism is just fast

before i answer your question... you're not eating enough sorry to say.

how do I know? I used to say the exact same thing.

I can finish 5 extra servings of rice with a 2 piece kfc meal

2 pcs porkchop and a chicken leg along with almost a full tupperware of rice is a walk in the park for me.

BUt what ws going wrong and why i didn't gain any weight? I wasn't eating often meaning every 3-4 hours.

Do that any I guarantee you you'll gain the pounds

As for gainers... only add them after you have corrected your eating habits.

I think eating 3 times a day is enough

BUT if you want to add on mass, studies have shown that 5 smaller meals a day is better to gain mass....because frequent eating gives your body a ready supply of nutrients that it needs to avoid catabolism..

5 small meals is actually more on the "dieting" approach. If you wana gain mass, you should eat "square" meals and not "small meals"
