What Got You Started Into Gaming?

Ngayon im craving for rpg strategy titles similar to Final Fantasy tactics. Best one after that was Disgaea. Now im retrogaming iwth ogre battle series

First, Tetris, then -->Pac Man-->Galaga-->Super Mario-->Startcraft-->Counter Strike--> Battle Realms --> Yuri's Revenge--> Diablo II LOD--> Capitalism--> Vice City-->Ragnarok

i got started early..... from game and watches, to atari (river raid, hero, combat) to nes family computer (moonwind, rockman, castlevania, super mario, contra), super famicom (super mario 3, rockman series, dragonball, final fantasy 6 [i even searched for the older final fantasy games....] crono trigger), playstation ( every final fantasy game that came out for the ps especially fftactics!) adn also pc gaming as well....by way of diablo...... i just love the interactive storytelling kasi....

I started when my father brought me a game&watch with the game Chef.

 

Then progressed thru galaxians, pacman, loderunner, bomberman.

 

Then on to famicoms, sega saturns, playstations, and pc games.

I was born a gamer, started when I was about 5 with famicom games, can't remember the title but the game that really got me going was Final Fantasy VII - nothing beats it on my list. I'm currently waiting for the release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on DVD. Hopefully they'll release it in summer 2005. ARGH! I just hope that there'll be no delays of schedule.

What's the game that made you say "Hey, this is fun. I wan't more."

 

For me, it's the original Diablo. I played other games before but I played them rather casually, with no real motivation to finish the game. But after Diablo, for almost every game that I play, if it has a single player campaign, I play to the finish.

 

So what's the game that got you started in the wonderful world of gaming? What lured you to the dark side?

Pong in Atari ... Space Invaders and Pac Man in the Arcades.

 

Family Com games, especially Twin Bee!

 

Then there was Rogue, an RPG game in PC. Got me hooked in RPG for years, played Ultima, Dungeons and Dragons, Magic Candle etc.

 

I discovered playing turn based strategy games as fun, UFO : Unknown started another shift in my gaming taste.

 

Arcade shooters / sports, puzzle games and coffee break games fill my 10mins to 1hour gaming sessions. Star Control, Archon, Dark Legions, Doom, Bball, Lemmings and Micro Machines comes into mind. Playing hot-seat and LAN games = HEAVEN! Cooperative and competitive games is now a must for me to enjoy a game.

 

Then simulations, ATF series baby!

 

Then i found RTS, Starcraft:Broodwars is still the best. The start of my online gaming addiction. Played this game exclusively for 3+ years. With a dash of LAN Counterstrike games of course.

 

I almost play exclusive Mechwarrior : Mercenaries online nowadays. Team game = my next step.

 

But i also play "side games" from time to time (ie. Doom III, UT II, Tribes Vengeance, Magic the Gathering : Battlegrounds, etc.), but still nothing compare to my current favorite ... Mechwarrior : Mercenaries for almost 4 years now.

For me its the the racing games from PS1 then came STARCRAFT!!!!!!!!...... cnu may alam kung san pede magdownload nun.......... hehehehehehehe.......

bata pa ako noon 7 yrs old, i played arcade games( ung video na hinuhulugan ng piso noon, buhay pa kaya hanggang ngayun un?) street fighter at pacman, den sunod family computer. imagine tetris, contra at double dragon [a ung mga bala ko nyon, sunod ulit when i in 3rd hs, pc na gamit ko pero win95 ung, isa lang ung game ko nyun, i remember prince of persia . ngaun, call of duty, maxpayne 2, nba live 2004 at 2005, NFSU1 & 2, GTA 3 and vice city btw, i forgot ps games, die hard trilogy, tekken 3...., tekken 4, tag.. dami kze magaganda, di pa kasama ung hentai games jan .

Started with Playstation 1: Resident Evil tsaka Crash Bandicoot series and way too much time on my hands...

 

Deprived ang childhood ko kasi. Di namin kayang bumili ng mga gaming console gaya ng Atari tsaka Family computer. Game and Watch nga, wala pa rin e.

 

E first paycheck ko, nakabili ako ng PS1. Tapos maluwag sa attendance sa work so...

 

Everyday is PS1 day!!!

 

Isipin niyo, kailangan ko pang ijustify sa sarili ko na pumasok sa trabaho kaysa maglaro ng PS1. Nawalan ako ng ilang gf at barkada dahil nauubos ang oras ko sa paglalaro. Bumili pa ako ng cheat cartridge ng Gamars nung pumunta ako sa Malaysia. Lalong lumubha ang addiction ko dahil di na ko nafru-frustate pag mahirap na ang stage nung nilalaro kong game. Dinadaya ko na lang para malampasan lang.

 

Tapusin ko ba naman yung Metal Gear Solid na nakastealth at bandanna dahil sa cheat. Kinakabitan ko na nga lang ng C4 ang mga kalaban e.

 

Hanggang nasira na ang PS1 ko. Di ko na pinagawa. Sign of God na rin siguro yun para matigil na ang addiction ko.

 

Hay naku, those were the days.

 

Kaya nga di na ko bumili ng PS2. Baka maulit uli yung stage ng buhay ko na yun.
