Bro what exactly is a cola? Isn't a cola a soda that's artificially flavored? Isn't Dr. Pepper a soda?

A soft drink (or "soda", "pop", "soda pop") is a carbonated beverage typically containing carbonated water, sweetener and flavoring. Popular flavors are cola, cherry, lemon-lime, root beer, orange, grape, vanilla, ginger ale, fruit punch, and lemonade.

A cola is a carbonated beverage that originally contained caffeine from the kola nut and cocaine from coca leaves and was flavored with vanilla and other ingredients. Most colas now use other flavoring (and caffeinating) ingredients with a similar taste and no longer contain cocaine.

"Dr. Pepper" is a brand of soft drink marketed as having a "unique flavor" (not apple, not orange, not strawberry, not root beer, not cola).
