N F L - National Football League

From Spygate to Deflategate. Someone's bound to notice and put the magnifying glass on them. I'm biased anyway coz I'm a big blue guy so i won't feel the least bit of sympathy for them if they suspend Brady. Go Big Blue! Beat these patriots twice in the superbowl.

And somehow....four consecutive non-playoff appearances by the NY Giants (2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) does not bode well for them.

The question is how long will the NFL keep letting the Pats do these things.

I don't think so. Check the history of the scandals and the penalties that were handed, on and off-court related.

Granted they keep coming up w/ new schemes and it keeps looking like the NFL officials are just catching up w/ their antics.

But having consecutive successful seasons will not sit well w/ the other owners who spent more money in free agency than the Pats only to see a season go down the drain.

I need to clarify about your statement "having consecutive successful seasons"....are you referring to the Pats consistent playoff appearances?

Whether the playing and coaching style of the Pats help them win or not, its still looks unethical and unsportsmanlike.

Eventually, a decision will be made and whether its lenient or a suspension, it has to appease all the owners of the teams.

Playing and coaching style looks unethical? How come? Are you referring to the playbook they use for the offensive and defensive strategies?

Even though any decision will be made....the truth is....it has a high chance that not all the team owners will be pleased by the decision, probably some will be clamoring for more....with a high probability.

obviously we've been on a rocky patch for a while, but i was pretty optimistic with their season. Almost all of the first 10 games they had were all winnable except maybe for the week 2 game against the falcons where we got killed by julio jones and that week 6 game against the eagles where we laid a f-in egg. They were hanging around with the other more healthier teams like the Patriots and almost came back against the Saints and Panthers. Injuries to our Defense and O-line hurt us. JPP was out and the running game needs to be addressed. We're pretty good with Cruz and Odell. If its not the running game, we need to focus on building a better defense. Get a good pass rusher in the draft and go from there. I'm not worried. Between the Giants and the other teams in the division, THe Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins. The Giants should be at the top of the NFC East.

As for the pats, all i can say is, he hasn't beaten the Giants the last two times they met in the Superbowl. On a good day, the Giants can beat anybody and nothing can take that away from them. It doesn't matter if Brady ends up with more Superbowl rings than Eli but when it came down to them playing each other. Eli and the Giants had the better of them.

I'm confident we will get back to the playoffs again this coming season. Big Blue till i die.

Ok....

....so I wanna ask you this question since you are a Big Blue fan....

....in your opinion....what are the positions they need to make changes, upgrades, and the priorities?

Link to comment

like i said before the priority was Defense. Ranked last in the league last season. Injuries and age is creeping up to the D line we needed to address it. This year we got JPP back but we needed more pass rushers so i liked they signed Olivier Vernon a very good pass rusher heres to hoping he is a good signing since we lost Roberty Ayers to free agency. We also needed someone to fill the void at Safety and the interior D. I like the Janoris signing since Amukamara left. I still think we haven't done anything for the secondary since we don't anyone close to having a very good FS. I don't know how they will take care of those needs because of salary cap issues. The other thing i thought we needed to tweak is the run. We need better Running backs to take some pressure off Eli but the priority is the D because that's what got us to the chip in the first place. With the signing of Vernon and Janoris we might just be left with whoever's available at guard and tackle and another receiver to compliment ODB. I read they might release Victor Cruz because he hasn't played due to injury and they might get some available cap space by releasing him to sign other needed positions

Defensive End:

JPP....I'm surprised that they still considered him even though of his liability (re: 4th of July). Would he still be able to highly perform despite his damaged right hand?

Olivier Vernon's signing contract is somewhat perplexing. The amount of money that he's guaranteed....he should be performing at a caliber at par, if not better than JJ Watt.

Defensive Back:

Ok....somehow NY Giants did something right here....although I do feel Jenkins is a bit overpaid. And I don't know if the notable cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie could work well with Jenkins. One more thing....DRC's nearing 30. Something NY should start considering....

You didn't mention at all the concerns on the Tight End and receiver position (help for OBJ at the receiving corp). Why is this so?

Link to comment

I was planning to mention the TE concern because i thought it was something that i thought we needed to fill because they're a bunch of rookies, but i don't think its an immediate concern because the play doesn't go through the TE frequently. The guy we have at the moment Will Tye is young and he is going to be more than a decent option when they add coverage on the other receivers. It will free him up for those 3rd downs. Hey we can't have the luxury of having a gronk or a greg olsen available so we work with developing the guys we have.

Plus i didn't think it was an immediate concern, since we have a lot of holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball which was more important. I'm not worried about JPP he's doing what he's supposed to be doing and trying to get healthy to be ready for the season. I read that he will be ready and by having him back with the signing of Jenkins along with the new additions of pass rushers we got we can build off of that to improve the defense. I still think they need to address the secondary. We still need a safety so i'm trying to think they might look to get someone from free agency that isn't expensive but a compliment to help out the backfield because they still need a guy out there. You can say that they might have overpaid Vernon but he was the best available out there and im thinking if they lowballed the offer he would sign somewhere else. Its a risk but we needed to do something to get some good pass rushers with the cap we have available. He's young too so we have that advantage to see if he pans out and help compete for a lot of years.

As for Cromartie, he's still effective on that side as long as the D line holds up and constantly puts the pressure on the opposing QB which was missing because of all the injuries we got for those 3 years. That's why they went and signed a bunch defensive linemen. There wasn't a dropoff on his play unlike prince amukamara who was out most of the time that's why we were getting killed on the coverage in the open field. it all starts with the pass rush to take pressure of the D backs.

I know we got a lot of holes to fill with some positions but we got to prioritize the ones we need with the cap we got not to mention the negotiating that goes along with getting that player which can make or break the ability to get other guys. The other thing is there's the draft so i'm waiting for them to pick an available guy to fill a position. could be a linebacker or a running back depending on who they think is still available there.

The Giants ain't done yet they did some good things with the signing of these guys.

Haha....so the US Court of Appeals upheld the suspension ruling on Tom Brady.

Seems like the Cardinals, Dolphins, Texans and Bills are the happiest NFL teams upon hearing this issue.

If those teams still lose to the Pats without Brady....no comment. LOL

Too bad your pats had to forfeit their pick. But oh well, they still got Brady and Belichick. Year in, year out, they're contenders
