Spider-man 3:

James Cromwell, the versatile "go to" actor who has starred in everything from BABE to THE LONGEST YARD, has signed on to star in SPIDER-MAN 3. He'll actually be starring as Captain Stacy, father to Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard). Assuming it follows the storyline in the comics, Cap'n Stacy is killed in the line of duty while Spider-Man fought Dr. Octopus.

Amazing Spiderman 3 Spoilers! James Franco Friend or Foe?

Author: Robert Sanchez

Spiderman 3 plot points have been kept well under wraps. Kirsten Dunst spilling the beans about which villains would appear at the Elizabethtown junket is perhaps the most concrete information we have.

Recently, a post regarding a website run by Matthew Mungle was brought under scrutiny. It reads - Designed and created the make-up concept and appliances for James Franco in "Spiderman 3" to be applied by Luisa Abel.

This together with Harry finding his father's Green Goblin lair at the end of Spiderman 2 begs the question, will Harry be the third villain, perhaps the Hobgoblin in Spidey 3?

You can always count on the IESB to go digging for answers and something has come up. First let's take the history of Harry Osborn. Here is a brief rundown of his life after his father Norman died:

Not much was seen of the second Green Goblin but has been both a foe and ally of Spider-Man over the years as well as an ally of the Molten Man and others...Harry went on to have a son, Normy, named after his father with his wife Liz Allen Osborn. A memorable battle Occurred in Amazing Spider-Man #312 where he went head to head with the goblin-like Hobgoblin.

In Spectacular Spider-Man #200 Harry died from a new Goblin formula being too toxic and destroyed him from within, but right before he died, Harry went back into an exploding building & saved Peter...When asked why he did it, Harry's last words were "You're my best friend".

So again, where does this leave Harry in Spiderman 3 the Hollywood movie version?

Here's what we have been sent, mind you, this a VERY reliable source, no grain of salt needed:(CAUTION Spoilers ahead)

Rob, all the assumptions that Harry Osborn is the third villain the Hobgoblin are all wrong. Spiderman finds himself out numbered in this one. When everything seems to be at its worst for our hero, he finds himself an unlikely ally, Harry Osborn. Peter Parker's best friend will come to his aide.

Okay so let's look at this. Harry will come to Spidey's rescue? Did he finally realize his father was a kook? Apparently so. Here's more...

We will see Harry battling his inner demons to make the choice between his father's legacy and his best friend. I will fill you in more later but gotta go, crew call in 10 minutes, Sam doesn't like it when anyones late! Holla, Peace

Hey, but wait, according to the Matthew Mungle website James Franco will have make-up and appliances put on. So will be see Harry as Green Goblin II, Spidey's ally? I guess that remains to be seen!!

Stay tuned to the IESB for further updates!

"Instinct" Sex Cut For An 'R'

Author: Garth Franklin

Sharon Stone's latest movie is too sexy for cinemas. Censors in the US have had to cut a steamy orgy scene out of "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction" so that teenagers can watch it reports Bang Showbiz.

Britain's Daily Star newspaper quotes a spokesman for the studio as saying: "It is a hard 'R' rated movie which means it includes strong sexuality, nudity, violence, language and some drug content." Censors threatened to give it the dreaded NC-17 rating which would mean that no-one under 18 could watch it.

Although they found the orgy scene too much, the MPAA did allow a steamy sequence where Sharon's character is pleasured by a man as she drives a sports car through the streets on London at high speed. Sharon reportedly refused to use a body double for the sex scenes.

Cassavettes, Phillippe & "Iron Man"?

Posted: Monday February 6th, 2006 8:45am

Source: Assorted Sources

Author: Garth Franklin

The feature film adaptation of "Iron Man" has been in the works for a while now and at one point, Nick Cassavetes was set to direct with New Line distributing - that was until late last year when the rights reverted to Marvel and it seemed "The Notebook" helmer had left the project.

Since then a number of interesting rumours cropped up. First, IESB heard rumblings that "I, Robot" and "Dark City" helmer Alex Proyas was rumoured to be attached. Then, in an interview with MTV, Cassavettes apparently indicated he's still attached and is in pre-production on the film which will make the hero "more mechanical than high-tech".

That was followed up by another anonymous scooper who says "I've heard that Ryan Phillippe had met with New Line Cinema about doing "Iron Man". They were apparently after an 'actor' - a la' Tobey Maguire or Christian Bale - to make the film just that little bit more than your standard comic book adventure film".

Based on the long-running Marvel comic book series, "Iron Man" is the story of Tony Stark, a driven inventor and executive who straps on billions of dollars in armor and weaponry each night to fight crime, terrorism and corporate espionage.

Friday the 13th part 11:

Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes shingle is coming aboard to produce the 11th outing in the sturdy "Friday the 13th" franchise for New Line.

Studio's hoping to fast-track the project -- centered on the origins of the Jason Voorhees character -- so that the pic can be released three weeks before Halloween on Friday, Oct. 13. Bay will produce with Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.

New Line's hired Mark Wheaton ("Son of the Morning Star") to pen the script. Studio prexy Toby Emmerich is overseeing along with execs Cale Boyter and Jeff Katz.

The original "Friday the 13th" -- set at a reopened camp that had closed 20 years earlier -- took nearly $40 million in domestic grosses in 1980. That's still the best domestic performance in the series, although New Line's spinoff pic "Freddy Vs. Jason" was a solid success in 2003, with $82 million domestic.

Platinum Dunes, which Bay launched in 2001 as a low-budget horror specialist, produced New Line's 2003 remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and its upcoming "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning."
