Captain America: The First Avenger

Here's our first official look at Chris Evans as Captain America courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:

Captain America: The First Avenger is being directed by Joe Johnston, most recently of The Wolfman, and is already shooting mostly in Europe. The film takes place during WWII and will follow Cap's escapades on the European battlefronts, including encountering a diabolical scientist Arnim Zola (played by Toby Jones) and an evil villain named Red Skull (played by Hugo Weaving). Also in the cast: Hayley Atwell as Cap's love interest Peggy Carter, Sebastian Stan as Cap's WWII sidekick Bucky Barnes, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, and Tommy Lee Jones as General Chester Phillips.

Later, popular additions to the cast included the brash, cynical and grumpy Captain Haddock, the bright but hearing-impaired Professor Calculus (Professeur Tournesol) and other colorful supporting characters such as the incompetent detectives Thomson and Thompson (Dupond et Dupont). Herge himself features in several of the comics as a background character; as do his assistants in some instances.

Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, and Dustin Hoffman are all set to reprise their roles from the first movie; they will be joined by Gary Oldman, Jean Claude Van Damme, Michelle Yeoh, and Victor Garber for Kung Fu Panda 2’s May 27, 2011 3D release.

The film stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Roman Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo and Michael Pena. The film will be released nationwide on March 11 next year.

 

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world – Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, and China. But in 2011, what were once sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected.
