This adaptation of the DC/Wildstorm comic is set to star Leonardo DiCaprio and will be directed by Ridley Scott. Sleeper centers on an operative whose fusion with an alien artifact makes him impervious to pain and allows him to pass it on to others through skin contact. He is placed undercover in a villainous organization by an intelligence agency and falls for a member of the group named Miss Misery. While DiCaprio replaces the previously attached Tom Cruise, Sam Raimi is still attached to the project as a producer. At this time, the film does not have a concrete start date. Headshot:Warner Bros. has acquired screen rights to Alexis Nolent's French graphic novel series "Headshot". The story follows an unlikely alliance between a cop and a hitman takes place after each watches his partner die. The new partners seek revenge and discover they have a shared enemy and much in common despite being on opposite sides of the law. Alessandro Camon ("The Messenger," "The Chancellor Manuscript") has been set to write the script and "Smallville" creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar will produce along with Alexandra Milchan ("The Killer," "Cyclops"). The Happytime Murders:Jim Henson Co., the company behind The Muppets, has picked up the comedic film noir spec script "The Happytime Murders". Written by Todd Berger ("Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five") from a story by Dee Austin Robertson and Berger, the murder mystery takes place in a world where humans and puppets co-exist, with the puppets viewed as second-class citizens. When the puppet cast of an '80s children's TV show called "The Happytime Gang" begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet with a drinking problem takes on the case. Due to the more adult nature of the material, it will be produced under the company's Henson Alternative banner. Brian Henson ("A Muppet Christmas Carol," "Muppet Treasure Island") is on board to direct. High School:Adrien Brody and Michael Chiklis have joined the cast of indie comedy "High School" for Parallel Zide. The story centers on a high school valedictorian who gets high with the school toner and faces a drug test, then decides to get the entire school stoned so he can beat the test by making everyone fail. Brody will portray a drug dealer and Chiklis will play the school principal. Warren Zide and Ray Markovich will produce. Brigadier Gerard:Steve Carell has signed on to star in the upcoming comedy Brigadier Gerard. King of the Hill staff writers John Altshuler and David Krinsky will pen the screenplay based on a series of short stories from author Arthur Conan Doyle. The plot of the film will revolve around a French solider in the Napoleonic wars that is deluded about his level of bravery. Carrel will play Etienne Gerard, a gallant swordsman whose actual skills often pale in comparison to his own conception of them. The project is said to showcase the kind of clueless-man comedy Carell is so well known for. The Children:What seems like a normal trip to their auntie's and uncle's soon turns into a disaster as uncle Robbie is mysteriously killed after appearing to fall off a sledge, and then mysterious child like figures from the forest start attacking. http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/9719/capture10162008101010amma1.jpg Lady Blood:In the film, Yanka is a mother and a chief of police. She's a fulfilled woman, in love with her husband and happy with her daughter and mother-in-law. Everything's going great until a strange occurrence disturbs her new life. With the help of her psychiatrist husband, she tries to convince herself that it's just a nightmare. But it gets worse every day... In the same time, she heads an investigation into the local mob which leads her to the discovery of horrible crimes, so much like the bloody carnage she herself committed while under a monster's influence all those years earlier... sickness
Thor:Daniel Craig said in an interview that they [Marvel] did approach him but he turned it down. He added jokingly, it would have been too much of a power trip, both Bond and Thor, and running around with long hair and a hammer. Dr. Strange:Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told MTV News that Dr. Strange is on the short list of comic properties that they will explore after The Avengers hits the big screen. “Very much so,” Feige said. “I’d say in the next year, year and a half, as we start putting together our film slate for 2012 and 2013, I would not be shocked if we saw Dr. Strange on those lists. I love the idea of taping into the magical realm of the Marvel Universe, which is fairly significant and hasn’t yet seen life on screen. It’s something I’m very, very interested in.” 13 Tzameti (remake):Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will star with Sam Riley in director Gela Babluani's English-language remake of his own 13 Tzameti. Belgian helmer Koen Mortier ("Ex-Drummer") will adapt and direct. Freaks of the Heartland:David Gordon Green will direct the horror thriller Freaks of the Heartland. In the dark ages, after the long struggle of the vampire race to subdue the first generation of lycans, the two races live in relative peace. Lucian then rallies other lycans to his cause and the war between vampires and lycans begins. For centuries the war rages, eventually the lycans are beaten. Their only stronghold is the castle of their leader Lucian. Viktor's second in command, Kraven, makes a pact with the lycan alpha, Lucian. The branded skin is cut from Lucian's arm as proof of his demise and his castle razed to the ground. A source said: “Christian is hot property right now, courtesy of Batman. “Doctor Strange is a very different kind of hero to Batman and it’s felt Christian is the sort of actor who can make the part work on screen. “It is understood a deal could be struck in the coming weeks.” The Welsh-born star “tops the list” of movie bosses to portray Dr. Strange, a former surgeon who becomes a powerful sorcerer after a car accident leaves him unable to perform operations. Bale also plays hero John Connor in the upcoming ‘Terminator Salvation’ and has signed on for two more sequels in the science-fiction franchise. Villains:Universal has ponied up six figures for the film rights to an upcoming Viper Comics graphic novel titled Villains, and hired Matt Jennison and Brent Strickland to write the adaptation. Adam Cogan and Ryan Cody created the graphic novel that puts super bad guys center stage. The plot, told from the bad guy's perspective, follows a young man who is failing at life and finds purpose when he meets a Svengali-style villain who takes him under his wing. Preacher:A popular comic series is finally moving forward towards the silver screen. Sam Mendes has signed on to direct an adaptation of the comic book series, Preacher for Columbia Pictures. The Vertigo comic book was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and centered on a Texas preacher who has been possessed by the unholy alliance of an angel and a demon, named Genesis. The preacher teams up with an ex-girlfriend and an Irish vampire on a quest to find God, who had apparently just up and left his post in heaven. Loft:Five married men share a secret: a spacious loft, in which they can quietly receive and entertain their lovers and latest conquests. When the five try to find out what happened and why, they soon begin to suspect one another. It also becomes clear that they know far less about each other than they initially thought. Whiteout:The ticking-clock “Whiteout” follows U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) as she uncovers the first murder ever in the Antarctic just as the sun is about to set for six months. She must catch the killer before he leaves the ice or be stuck there with him in the dark for six months. Hellraiser (remake):Pascal Laugier (director of the controversial horror film Martyrs), is in final negotiations to write and direct Dimension's re-imagining of Clive Barker Presents: Hellraiser, one of Clive Barker's best-loved creations. The original Hellraiser was released in 1987 and told the story of an unfaithful wife who attempts to assist her dead lover in his escape from hell. The movie introduced viewers to a race of demons called Cenobites, most notably one nicknamed Pinhead -- who became one of the most enduring horror characters of the decade -- who was summoned using an antique puzzle box. Dimension has been hoping to relaunch the franchise for the past couple of years, first hiring Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo to write and direct a remake then tapping Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton to write a new draft.
