sickness
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:It looks like all those rumours about the last Harry Potter book being split into two movies are true. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I will hit theatres in November 2010 and Part II in May 2011. Director David Yates returns again for both halves. G.I. JOE:Hummer HX will be used in the upcoming film. The HX is a compact two-door, four-passenger, open-air, extreme off-road capable concept. HX features a reconfigurable rear compartment that can transform from slant back to SUT to square back, any of which can be open air or fully enclosed. This will be one of the many GM vehicles to be used in the film and will be known as the Cougar (Patrol Vehicle) or the Grizzly (Armored Truck). http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/6757/hummerhxgl3.jpg http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/7489/hummerhx202lk7.jpg Metal Gear Solid:Writer/Director Kurt Wimmer ("Equilibrium") will possibly pen the Sony Pictures film adaptation of Konami's hit video game series "Metal Gear Solid". Metal Gear Solid's story centers on Solid Snake, a retired soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons disposal facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from FOXHOUND, a renegade special forces unit. He attempts to liberate their two hostages, the head of DARPA and the president of a major arms manufacturer, and stops the terrorists from launching a nuclear strike. Left marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane -- sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all -- the vast plains of Africa itself -- where our zoo-raised crew encounters species of their own kind for the very first time. While discovering their roots, they quickly realize the differences between the concrete jungle and the heart of Africa. Despite long-lost relatives, romantic rivals and scheming hunters, Africa seems like a "crack-a-lackin" great place...but is it better than their Central Park home? trailer: Heavy Metal:Director David Fincher is pushing forward with an animated anthology feature film based on the 70s sci-fi fantasy magazine "Heavy Metal" for Paramount Pictures. The R-rated, adult-themed film will consist of eight or nine individual animated segments, each of which will be directed by a different director. Fincher will direct one of the segments, Kevin Eastman ("TMNT"), and Tim Miller will do another each whilst all three will produce. Previous animated features based on the property were released in 1981 and 2000. Escape to Witch Mountain:Carla Gugino is joining Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Disney Pictures "Race to Witch Mountain" reports the trades. The re-imagining of 1975 tween thriller "Escape to Witch Mountain" has a Las Vegas cab driver (Johnson) helping a pair of psychic siblings (Alexander Ludwig and AnnaSophia Robb) escape the clutches of evil men and save the human race from impending doom. Gugino will play a discredited astrophysicist and UFO expert who meets up with the cabbie who asks for her extraterrestrial expertise. Actor/director Garry Marshall plays a government and UFO conspiracy theorist/fringe scientist who helps them in their quest. Amulet:Willow and Jaden Smith will star in Warner Bros. Pictures' adaptation of Kazu Kibuishi's fantasy graphic novel "Amulet" for Overbrook Entertainment. The graphic novel centers on a brother and sister who move into their late great-grandfather's home after their father dies. They must use his amulet to rescue their widowed mother from a beast who lures her into an underground world. The Haunted World of El Superbeasto:Rob Zombie reports on his official MySpace blog that Sid Haig and Bill Moseley have joined the cast of his animated feature film, El Superbeasto. Who will they be playing? How about Captain Spaulding and Otis from House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects?! The 2-D animated comedy, based on the Spookshow International comic book "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" created by Zombie, follows the exploits of a washed-up Mexican wrestler, El Superbeasto, in the mythic world of Monsterland. SAW V:Betsy Russell - who plays Jigsaw's wife Jill - will be joining Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, Costas Mandylor and Mark Rolston in Lionsgate's Saw V, which hits theaters October 24. David Hackl takes the reigns of director for the latest film, which begins lensing this Monday in Toronto, Canada. sickness
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:In “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Lord Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and Wizard worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching.. http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/5820/hp6d04117fg4ye6.jpg G.I. JOE:Another photo of Ray Park in costume as Snake Eyes....http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/6285/joexlargefd3.jpg Terminator 4:Anton Yelchin is in talks to portray post-apocalyptic warrior Kyle Reese in director McG's Terminator 4. Yelchin will play a teen version of Reese, the man who fathered world savior John Connor in the original "Terminator" film. Christian Bale will play John Connor in the time-traveling third sequel to the 1984 sci-fi action film, produced by the Halcyon Co. and set for a Warner Bros. release in summer 2009. Reese, one of the children who survived a machine-driven nuclear holocaust, befriends Marcus (Sam Worthington), an early edition of the Terminator cyborg played in previous films by Arnold Schwarzenegger. In Terminator 4, the character is a young version of the one played by Michael Biehn, who traveled back in time in the original to impregnate Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and father the world's future savior. The film picks up with their son (Bale), now in his 30s, fighting desperately to save a decimated civilization against machines that have taken control. It's unclear if the father and child reunion is only a cyborg motion away in the new film. Street Fighter:Capcom Co. Ltd., the company that brought the video game Street Fighter to the gaming world, has announced the cast for the upcoming Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li film. Chun-Li will be portrayed by Kristen Kruek (Smallville), and the rest of the cast will be rounded out by Michael Clark Duncan as Balrog, Neal McDonough portraying M. Bison, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas will be Vega, Chris Klein plays Charlie Nash, and Rick Yune will play Gen. Moon Bloodgood, Edmund Chen and Cheng Pei Pei have also signed on to star in this video game adaptation. The film, directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, from a Justin Marks script, hasn't announced a start date yet, but they are aiming for a 2009 release. Max Payne:Beau Bridges, has joined the cast of MAX PAYNE, Fox's currently filming adaptation of the gloriously violent video game of the same name. The story centers on the titular DEA agent and his relentlessly brooding pursuit of the sociopath who killed his partner and family. Mark Wahlberg stars as the impossibly somber Payne. Bridges will be playing B.B. Hensley, a former cop and mentor to Payne who helps him track down the killer. Also along for the exagerated metaphor-laced manhunt is Mila Kunis, who plays Mona Sax, an assassin also aiding Payne in his revenge-fueled endeavor. Tintin:Thomas Sangster has been cast as the lead in the upcoming Tintin movies to be directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. Should this be true, Sangster would join Andy Serkis who has already been cast at Tintin's sidekick Captain Haddock. The first movie is currently scheduled to begin filming this fall with Spielberg behind the camera. Jackson will take directing duties on the second film. The Wardstone Chronicles:Warner Bros. and Legendary are looking to start up the next Potter/Narnia franchise through the young adult book series, THE WARDSTONE CHRONICLES by author Joseph Delaney, by adapting the first story of the series, THE SPOOK’S APPRENTICE, for the big screen. And as of today, it looks like they’ve found their director: Kevin Lima, the helmer of this Fall’s mega-hit ENCHANTED. Thomas Ward is the seventh son of a seventh son and has been apprenticed to the local spook. The job is hard, the spook is distant, and many apprentices have failed before him. Somehow Thomas must learn how to exorcise ghosts, contain witches, and bind boggarts. But when he is tricked into freeing Mother Malkin, the most evil witch in the country, the horror begins.. How to Train your Dragon:Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel and Christopher Mintz-Plasse have all signed on to voice roles in DreamWorks Animation's CGI fantasy feature "How to Train Your Dragon" reports the trades. Based on Cressida Cowell's first novel in the children's book series, the story centers on the timid son of a Viking chief who must capture and train a dragon in order to be initiated into his tribe. Baruchel will voice the boy, named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, who is saddled with an undersized and uncooperative dragon. Butler is the father and chief of the tribe, Stoick the Vast, while Ferrera voices Astrid, who partners with Hiccup for the initiation. Hill will play Snotlout, a bully who thinks he should be the next chief, and Mintz-Plasse portrays Fishlegs, a Viking big in size but small in brains. Unborn:James Remar (Dexter) has signed onto David S. Goyer's Unborn alongside Odette Yustman, Gary Oldman, Cam Gigandet, Meagan Good, Carla Gugino, Jane Alexander, Idris Elba and Rhys Coiro. The psychological thriller follows an 18-year-old who is haunted by a Dybbuk - the soul of a dead person barred from heaven - in the form of a young boy who perished in Auschwitz. Jennifer's Body:Adam Brody and J.K. Simmons have joined the cast of "Jennifer's Body" Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman's follow-up collaboration to "Juno." Karyn Kusama is directing Fox Atomic's dark comedy/horror film starring Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox. Cody's script centers on Jennifer (Fox), a cheerleader possessed by a demon who starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Her bookish best friend (Seyfried) must take drastic measures to protect the town. Brody will play Nikolai, a hot lead singer of an up-and-coming rock band with a penchant for evil. Simmons will play Mr. Wroblewski, a high school science teacher. Friday the 13th (remake):Jared Padalecki is reportedly in negotiations to play the lead in the New Line/Paramount Pictures return to Crystal Lake as Jason Voorhees will terrorize more teens in a new Friday the 13th feature. Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes is producing the pic and they have brought on Marcus Nispel to direct, just as he did for the studio when they remade The Texas Chainsaw Massacre back in 2003. The remake is considered more of a reboot since it will venture into ground the originals never actually touched. The original Friday the 13th included Jason for a very small portion of the film, but the remake will focus on the serial killer, who will wear his now-iconic hockey mask. Padalecki will play the lead, who investigates what happened up at Crystal Lake. The film is already set for a February 13, 2009 release. JOE:Access Hollywood is reporting on next summer's big-screen GI Joe flick and have revealed a few plot details to whet the fans' appetites. Much of what's said confirms that the film sticks pretty closely to the source material of both the 80's cartoon and the Marvel comics of the same era. A lot of little details like black hair for the Baroness should bring bring fans some relief but with last week's dead-on Snake Eyes photo, it's looking like the film is in good hands. Also of interest is the mention that the film -- which serves as an origin story -- will address some little bits of backstory never explained in the cartoon or comic like Destro's metallic head and Snake Eyes inability (or unwillingness) to talk. The Last Pharaoh:Will Smith's Overbrook Entertaiment is developing the film which centers on Pharoah Taharqa, the 7th Century BC ruler of Egypt and last king of the Nubian Dynasty (Ethiopean-descended blacks) . Thus the film will cover the battles between the Ethiopian-ruled Egyptians and the Assyrians for the throne. Taharqa himself, described as one of the most brilliant military tacticians in history, managed to hold off an invasion by Assyrian leader Esarhaddon. When Esarhaddon finally managed to capture Egypt several years later, Taharqa helped start an insurrection. Esarhaddon's son finally managed take over Egypt, which then received several decades of unparalleled peace and prosperity before falling under Persian control. Taharqa meanwhile had fled back to Nubia where he died. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans:The third installment in the franchise may not have Kate Beckinsale in it since it's a prequel, but it does reportedly have Rhona Mitra (currently kicking ass on-screen in the post-apocalyptic thriller Doomsday). Mitra has been cast as "Sonja, Viktor's daughter, vampire lover of werewolf Lucian and cause of all the fuss that is the thousand year war between wolf and bat." Bill Nighy reprises his role as Viktor, while Michael Sheen is also back as Lucien. Production designer-turned-director Patrick Tatopoulos is helming the prequel, which was scripted by original Underworld director Len Wiseman. The Bleeding:Charles Picerni, director of 2 Days in the Valley, A Low Down Dirty Shame and the original Street Fighter, has compiled an interesting cast for his upcoming horror actioner The Bleeding. Set to star are Vinnie Jones, Michael Matthias, Michael Madsen, DMX and Armand Assante with Picerni directing from a Lance Lane script. The film centers on an ex-Army Ranger searching for the killer of his parents who discovers a family of vampires in a former chemical weapons factory-turned-nightclub. The supporting cast includes William McNamara, Pittsburgh Slim, Rachelle Leah and Kat Von D. A Perfect Getaway:Milla Jovovich ("Resident Evil") and Kiele Sanchez (TV's "Lost") have signed on to star in David Twohy's "A Perfect Getaway" for Relativity Media. Jovovich and Sanchez join Timothy Olyphant and Steve Zahn in the thriller, which revolves around a newlywed couple on their honeymoon in Hawaii. The pair run into two hikers who turn out to be vicious killers. Jovovich will play Zahn's new wife, while Sanchez will play Olyphant's companion. Drag Me to Hell:CLOVERFIELD star Jessica Lucas, Lorna Raver and David Paymer have all signed on to co-star in Sam Raimi's upcoming horror flick DRAG ME TO HELL. The trio join the already cast Alison Lohman (who stepped in to replace Ellen Page) and Justin Long. Lucas will play the roommate of Lohman's character who is the recipient of a vengeful curse by an old Easter European woman (Raver). Paymer will play Lohman's boss, a bank manager. SAW V:Julie Benz has just signed on to topline the next film in the Saw franchise, Saw V. This time around they have David Hackl directing who served as production designer on some of the previous Saw films with Darren Lynn Bousman. The story this time around is written once again by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. Production began on the film on March 17th. Benz will star alongside Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson and Costas Mandylor. Lionsgate plan to release the film on October 24th.
