Chain Letter:

Nikki Reed (Pictured; Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown), Noah Segan (Cabin Fever 2), Keith David (They Live) and "Saw III" and "Saw IV" lead Betsy Russell will star in "Chain Letter," the tale of a maniac who targets teens when they fail to forward chain mail. "Saw" producer Mark Burg and Roxanne Avent are executive producing the horror feature, which introduces the chain-wielding killer Chain Man (Michael Bailey Smith). Matthew Cohen, Cody Kasch, Michael J. Pagan, Cherilyn Wilson, Reed and Segan play his targets. Clifton Powell will play their high school coach, and Russell and David will play the police officers on the killer's tail.

 

 

 

Shutter (remake):

Today 20th Century Fox announced a March 21, 2008 release date for Shutter, a remake of one of the best Asian horror films. The original, one of the highest-grossing films in Thai history, follows a young photog and his girlfriend who find mysterious shadows in his photographs that may be tied to their involvement in a hit-and-run accident. Masayuki Ochiai directed the remake, whioch stars Rachael Taylor, Joshua Jackson, David Denman, James Kyson Lee and John Hensley.

Justice League of America:

Rumor has it that supermodel Megan Gale will be playing the Amazon Princess, Wonder Woman, and that Arnie Hammer will take the role of Batman.

 

Arnie Hammer is an imposing 6' 5" tall young man who has previously been seen on Desperate Housewives and Veronica Mars. He's a young looking guy, but his height and strong jaw might work perfectly beneath the Batman's cape and cowl.

 

Megan Gale is a well-known supermodel in Australia, and previously appeared in the film Stealth as Dr. Orbit's secretary. She certainly has the right look for the part of Wonder Woman, though it remains to be seen if she can properly capture the Amazonian Princess's majestic aura.

 

 

 

X-Files 2:

The first installment leaves us with Scully and Mulder on the run. The X-Files 2 picks up in a new location with mostly new characters. It begins by introducing chemically imbalanced Dr. Donarra. His official duty is "working hard to prevent children with non-survivable birth defects from being born". In his spare time, the good doctor dabbles in alien organs and keeps fetuses suspended in jars. His odd secretary (name unknown) alludes to Donarra's Dr. Jekyll persuasions by speaking about herself in the third person and being dependent on his prescribed "medicine."

 

The next turn in the film takes place at a travel agency, where an alien-believer has taken many hostages. Agents Darby, Plummer and Winlock, who are heading the hostage crisis, agree to grant him and a Dr. Schwartz safe passage to the site of an alien abduction. 20th Century Fox will release The X-Files 2 July 25, 2008.

 

 

 

The Factory:

John Cusack has signed to star in The Factory. In the psychological thriller, Cusack will play an obsessed cop who, with his partner, is on the trail of a serial killer prowling the streets of Buffalo. When his teenage daughter disappears, the cop drops any professional restraint and goes all-out to get the killer. Morgan O'Neill, a winner of the Australian version of the "Project Greenlight" reality show, will direct from a script he co-wrote with Australian actor Paul Leyden. Shooting is scheduled to begin in January.

 

 

 

Quarantined:

Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers Wilensky (Columbus Short) and McCreedy (Andrew Fiscella) already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. Unbeknownst to them, a woman has contracted a rare strain of rabies. When they try to leave the building with those injured from a wild attack by the infected woman, they find that they’ve been locked in. Indeed, there are police, SWAT and CDC crews securing the building. But phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those quarantined inside.

 

 

 

Cloverfield:

Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

Justice League of America:

Rumor has it that Zoe Kazan (In the Valley of Elah) has joined the cast in the role of Iris Allen. Iris Allen was the wife of the second Flash, Barry Allen, and aunt to Wally West, who later became the third man to take the title of Flash. Justice League of America is rumored to begin with the funeral of Barry Allen, giving Kazan an opportunity to flex her acting muscles early on in the film.

 

Kazan joins Scott Porter (Superman), Adam Brody (The Flash - Wally West), Common (Green Lantern), Arnie Hammer (Batman), Megan Gale (Wonder Woman) and Teresa Palmer (Talia Al-Ghul) in the George Miller-directed Justice League of America. The film is set for a 2010 release date.

Jamie Chung has joined the cast of James Wong's (FINAL DESTINATION) live action adaptation of DRAGONBALL as a love-interest called Chi Chi. DRAGONBALL is the story of an adult humanoid alien named Goku (Justin Chatwin) who, after discovering he was sent to Earth to destroy the population, tries to fulfill the wish of his dying grandfather and collect all seven of the world's mystical Dragon Balls to keep them out of the hands of the evil aliens. James Marsters (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) will play the villainous Piccolo.

G.I.JOE:

Star Wars Episode 1 star Ray Park has been cast as Snake Eyes in Stephen Sommer’s big screen live-action adaptation of GI Joe.

 

Snake Eyes is one of the original members of the GI Joe series. Hasbro has released over 30 figures of the character since his debut in 1982. Not much is known about the ninja master’s real identity, as it has remained classified throughout the series. The U.S. Army Sergeant First Class (E-7) is known for his stealth like movements and extensive knowledge of multiple forms of martial arts. Snake-Eyes is romantically involved with fellow G.I. Joe member Master Sergeant Shana M. O’Hara, a.k.a. Scarlett.

 

Fans of the toyline, animated series and comic books have been worried about this live-action adaptation since story information began to leak. Hasbro had to publicly reassure fans. And things got worse when the first casting announcement revealed Sienna Miller (Stardust, Factory Girl) as the Baroness, the exotic and evil sidekick of Destro. But I think everyone will agree that Ray Park is perfect for the role of Snake Eyes. Ray Park has been the fan favorite to take on the role, featured as a top placement on many fans dream cast listings. Park is best known for playing Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace.

X-Files 2:

Xzibit, Amanda Peet and Billy Connolly will join Mulder and Scully in the next X-Files movie. Although character details are being closely guarded, it is believed that Xzibit and Peet will be playing FBI Agents alongside David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully. The movie, based on the hit TV series, is expected to be a stand-alone story and not a sequel to the original 1998 feature film. Series creator Chris Carter will direct based on a screenplay he wrote with Frank Spotnitz. Production will begin later this month in Vancouver for a July 2008 release.

First official synopsis for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, which stars Christian Bale as John Connor and has McG attached to direct. Here it is! The film is about John Connor (Christian Bale), now in his 30's and soon to be wife Kate Brewster realize they must create a resistance organization with Earth's remaining survivors against the army of robots slowly being built up by Skynet. As they are building this resistance, one survivor happens to be a traitor in disguise, and has a secret that nobody would ever come to suspect.

Shutter Island:

Michelle Williams has joined the cast of Shutter Island for director Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie follows U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) as he travels to a remote New England island in 1954 to figure out how a multiple murderess escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane. Williams will play DiCaprio's wife. Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley also star. Laeta Kalogridis wrote the script based on the bestselling novel by Dennis Lehane.

 

 

 

Bride Wars:

Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson are teaming up for the romantic comedy "Bride Wars" for New Regency and 20th Century Fox. Hathaway and Hudson will play best friends who are pitted against each other when their wedding dates clash. They compete for venues, services and guests, once it's clear that neither will step aside.
