sickness
G.I. Joe: The folks at Hasbro as the toy manufacturer posted the following statement on their site with regards to the upcoming G.I. Joe feature film at Paramount with Stephen Sommers directing. Message to G.I Joe Fans Hasbro's G.I. Joe Team wanted to take this opportunity to clarify some of the facts regarding the G.I. Joe live-action movie that we are developing with Paramount Pictures. First and foremost, we are not changing what the G.I. Joe brand is about. The name “G.I. Joe” will always be synonymous with bravery and heroism. The G.I. Joe brand has enjoyed a successful 43-year history, spanning two key generations. The first was the line of 12-inch “realistic military” figures that were popular with kids in the 1960s and 1970s. The second generation, was created in 1982, and is based on a cast of fictional heroes and villains that make up the “G.I. Joe vs. Cobra” fantasy. The premise of this fantasy is the story of the G.I. Joe team, led by Duke, and their “fight for freedom wherever there is trouble” against the evil Cobra Commander and his Cobra force. This storyline was an instant hit with kids in the early 1980s, spawning a highly popular 3-3/4-inch action figure line, comic book collection and animated series. This movie will be a modern telling of the “G.I. Joe vs. Cobra” storyline and its compelling characters that Hasbro created 25 years ago. The G.I. Joe team will not be based in Brussels. Instead, they will be based out of the “Pit” as they were throughout the 1980s comic book series. And, in keeping with the G.I. Joe vs. Cobra fantasy, the movie will feature characters and locations from around the world. Duke, the lead character and head of the G.I. Joe team, will embody the values of bravery and heroism that the first generation of G.I. Joe figures established. G.I. Joe is a very important property to Hasbro and we thank all of our fans for their enthusiasm. Without all of you, the brand would not be where it is today. Thank you. Meanwhile, Paramount Pictures is in talks with Sam Worthington to star in its big screen G.I. Joe adaptation, which is set for a February 13 start date. The live-action feature, based on Hasbro's line of action figures, will be directed by Stephen Sommers (Van Helsing, "The Mummy" films) from a script by Stuart Beattie. The studio is eyeing a summer 2009 release for the event film. Worthington is currently filming James Cameron's Avatar. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/1088/harrypotterhalfbloodprifu3.jpg Crank 2: High VoltageIn the "Crank" sequel, Chev faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered artificial ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working. A chase begins through Los Angeles. Aliens vs Predator: Requiem http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/6818/movieposter14093xy8.jpg http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/18/movieposter14094gr4.jpg Bump:Tobin Bell will star in a screen adaptation of the graphic novel Bump. The thriller, based on the Fangoria Comics graphic novel by Mark Kidwell, casts Bell in the lead role of Sheriff Lundy. According to Bell, his character has "seen a lot in his day, but never anything like the terrifying, formidable foe he's up against here." Lundy is "seasoned, tough-as-nails, determined to prevail." Robert Kurtzman will direct. The Tattoist:"Tattooist" casts Jason Behr as a tattoo artist who becomes fascinated by the Samoan tatau tradition, but his desire to learn the ancient skill brings him into conflict and danger with the island mysticism and a deadly spirit is released as a result. 100 Feet:A young woman, Marnie Watson, who is granted early release from her prison sentence for manslaughter (killing her husband - a violent NYC cop - in self defense) on condition that she wears an electronic ankle bracelet and remain within her home, effectively under house arrest, for the remainder of her sentence. Her late husband's partner keeps tabs on her from a patrol car parked across the street, hoping she'll violate probation and he can send her back to prison. But the 100-foot radius her ankle bracelet allows isn't the worst of her problems. Her dead husband --now a malevolent ghost--is still in the house, where he died -- intent on savage revenge. sickness
The Dark Knight: http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/3466/viraljokergi5.jpg Spider-Man 4:Reports says that James Vanderbilt has been hired to write the screenplay for Spider-Man 4. The news comes even though there is no word of a deal that any of the series stars or director Sam Raimi will return. Vanderbilt takes over writing duties from David Koepp who wrote a draft for Spider-Man 4. Koepp worked on the first two installments of the superhero franchise. Duplicity:Julia Roberts and Clive Owen will star in Duplicity for Universal Pictures. In the movie, Roberts and Owen will play longtime lovers who happened to work as spies on opposite sides. They team up to stage an elaborate con to rip off corporations and steal a valuable product. Tony Gilroy wrote and will direct with production scheduled to begin in March. The Holy Road:Simon Wincer has signed on to direct "The Holy Road" -- a sequel to "Dances With Wolves" -- for Moonstone, Amicus Entertainment and Double Eagle Films. Film, which is being presented to international buyers at AFM, is penned by Michael Blake, who wrote the screenplay for "Wolves" as well as the two novels on which the two films are based. Story picks up 11 years after "Wolves" as the Comanche tribe is in steady decline and the threat of white settlers looms. The title "Holy Road" refers to the transcontinental railroad, which is a symbol of the clash of civilizations. X-Files 2:Production is about to begin on The X-Files 2. The movie is scheduled for a July 2008 release through Twentieth Century Fox. In grand “X-Files” manner, the as yet untitled film’s storyline is being kept under wraps, known only to top studio brass and the film’s principals. This much can be revealed: The supernatural thriller is a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show’s most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and takes the always-complicated relationship between Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) in unexpected directions. Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully, the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician, remains inextricably tied to Mulder’s pursuits. The Grudge 3:A young Japanese woman holds a secret to ending the curse of the Grudge. She travels to a haunted Chicago apartment building where she encounters a family battling to survive the ghosts. Together they confront the ghost of Kayako to save their souls from their impending tragic fate. Splice:Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody will star in the science fiction thriller Splice. The story explores a dark vision of the world of genetic engineering in which two young scientists (Polley and Brody) become superstars by splicing different animal DNA to create fantastical new creatures. They ignore the legal and ethical boundaries and introduce human DNA into their experiment. Shooting begins next month in Toronto with Vincenzo Natali set to direct and produced by Guillermo del Toro. Clock Tower:Weinsteins have reportedly brought director Eric Valette in to adapt the videogame CLOCK TOWER. The movie is is apparently based on the third game in the CLOCK TOWER series, which involved a regular girl who is haunted by horrifying visions and discovers that her family has battled evil spirits for generations. I'm only familiar with the first game in the series, which gave me a bad case of the terror-shits with its psychopath named Scissorman, who (ignoring parental suggestion) ran around with massive trimming instruments and caused intense frights and bloodshed. From a Buick 8:When State Trooper Curtis Wilcox is killed under strange circumstances, many unanswered questions are left for his teenage son Ned. The State Troopers have protected a secret for many years: a Buick left at a service station by a mysterious stranger that became Curtis' obsession. The Buick has unusual features - including the ability to suck in and consume bystanders and cough up nightmarish creatures in exchange. Ned, convinced that the car played a role in his father's untimely death, decides to destroy it...whatever the cost may be. Igniz
TEKKEN: http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/1556/tekkenposterql7.jpg The upcoming live action flick TEKKEN based on the popular video game of the same name (which has TEKKEN 6 coming to the USA sometime in 2008). Audition “sides” just use certain scenes in the script, usually emotionally charged ones, to see how the actors would react in that situation. We’ve gone through them all and have some character descriptions for ya plus a few details of the story. Characters first – JIN – Hero supreme with a serious drug problem, he’s hooked on ZEN and does what he can to get his next fix. He has entered the tournament in order to get near MISHIMA to k*ll him. He finds out along the way that he is the son of KAZUYA and grandson of MISHIMA. He is the people’s favorite to win KING OF THE IRON FIST. Suffering from ZEN withdrawals and sweating profusely, he enters the arena to try out for the latest IRON FIST tournament, his opponent? MARSHALL LAW. *See KAZUYA’s details for more on his lineage. BONNER - The scene used for the sides for the character of BONNER is actually our first introduction to the character. It’s about 10 minutes into the film and we find BONNER in his chop shop working on some underground black market kind of stuff listening to an “old” Black Eyed Peas song “Pump It” and singing along. A knock at the door rattles BONNER and his crew and they quickly cover up what they are working on. Luckily, it’s just BONNER’s acquaintance JIN at the door with his latest run of illegal goods. He hands over the microprocessors and gets a fix of ZEN (via inhaler) in exchange. Clearly a ZEN junkie, JIN asks for more but BONNER doesn’t give it out for free. JIN offers to take part in the “fights” later that evening in order to make some extra dough for BONNER so he will give him more ZEN. BRYAN FURY – Tekken’s favorite cyborg is a part of the live action TEKKEN film. BRYAN FURY of the ONYX CORPORATION. We meet him as we should, flexing his muscles for all the world to see. With his muscles rippling, veins protruding and sweat beading, FURY is more machine than man. His skeletal structure was replaced by flexsteel. He is being blackmailed (sorta) by head villain Kazuya. Not sure for what, but Kazuya knows Bryan’s secret. Did I mention it’s illegal to have more that 30% of bodily enhancements in Iron Fist? FURY sports his famous eye to chin scar. MISHIMA – Head of TEKKEN Corporation that has taken over the world pretty much after the last big war. He sees TEKKEN as the saving grace of the human race, things were in complete disarray before the corporation stepped in and brought order to the world. He believes he is remaking the world. Of course, with great power comes great responsibility and it looks like TEKKEN CORP has gone overboard outlawing all sorts of things in the “best interest” of the people. And what’s a big world dominating power without a big “cage match” to find the ultimate fighter? IRON FIST is TEKKEN’s version. The KING of the IRON FIST is the best fighter in town. MISHIMA doesn’t seem as “bad” as he did in the video game. He may even have a change of heart about TEKKEN thanks to JIN. KAZUYA – MISHIMA’s son who thinks his father is weak and he should be in control. Has waited for the torch to be passed down for a long time and is getting pretty frustrated with his father. Considering we find MISHIMA is the detention center later in the story with JIN going to him for help to escape, it looks like KAZUYA is the one who put him there and is now in power. He is also the one who raped JIN’s mom resulting in his birth. MARSHALL LAW – Remember the guy at the end of OVER THE TOP? The final arm wrestling opponent for Stallone? Well, maybe not many of you do, but that’s SO this guy, MARSHALL LAW, he’s the bad ass scary IRON FIST opponent that JIN fights to qualify. He breaks bones, wills and has a tendency to throw his opponents, well, at least what’s left of his opponents. He demands respect from JIN, but JIN is the one who gets the respect instead. STEVE FOX – Former IRON FIST competitor turned IRON FIST ANNOUNCER. Give him a hand, he’s British! He leads the open call fighters to the arena on opening day and helps JIN get through a tough match with MARDUK by revealing the fighter’s weak left knee. He also helps JIN discover who is really is. *See KAZUYA for more on that. KING – Current champion of the TEKKEN IRON FIST TOURNAMENT. His face is all over the advertisements TEKKEN IS KING. In sides, there is always some left over dialogue from the page before or the page after. From what I gather from the TEKKEN sides, other than the scenes and character descriptions I described above, the fighters (Marduk, Phoenix, Anna and Nina - sisters, Christie, Raven, Gorgo, Fury, Dragunov and Jin) seem to have gathered together and are trying to escape from the Mishima complex, they are ordered to return to their rooms, but refuse and an intense action sequence ensues. A fighter dies. Quote Link to comment

Death Wish (remake):Sylvester Stallone has now decided to see if he can work his nostalgic magic on other people's past characters. Mirovision was behind the original flick, and is now wanting to cash in on remaking it for English-based audiences. The original was directed by Byeong-ki Ahn and went a little something like this: a young woman who lives in an old apartment in a Seoul suburb, amuses herself by observing the windows of the apartments on the other side. One day, she notices that the lights of some of these apartments are turned off at the very same time. She begins to suspect that this pattern is somehow related to a series of mysterious deaths in the neighborhood. She becomes more and more deeply involved as she attempts to solve the mystery. sickness
The Dark Knight:The Dark Knight begins with the Joker robbing a huge bank (we’ve seen photos of this everywhere). The bank is where the mob and all the gangs in Gotham keep all of their money. The Joker takes this money and holds it “ransom”. The Joker then says to the mob and the gangs of Gotham, “If you help me take down Batman, you’ll get your money back. If not, I’m going to burn it all.” This is how the Joker assembles his army to take down Batman. Prince of Persia: The Sands of TimeReport says that Mike Newell has been offered the director's chair on the feature film adaptation of the popular videogame "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" for producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney. Prince of Persia will bring Newell back to the world of fantasy. The videogame is set in medieval Persia, Earth's mightiest and most mysterious kingdom, where a king and his son defeat the powerful Maharajah and kidnap his daughter, looting his palace of priceless treasure, including an extravagant hourglass, and a mysterious dagger. Jeffrey Nachmanoff penned the script. Start Trek XI:Bruce Greenwood has been cast as Christopher Pike, the Starship Enterprise's first captain, in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" feature for Paramount. The character of Capt. Pike appeared in the original unaired pilot that Gene Roddenberry created. The pilot was rejected by CBS and then shown to NBC, which turned it down, though it liked the concept enough to commission a second pilot. (Only the character of Spock survived the redevelopment.) Pike was later weaved back into Star Trek lore as the ship's first captain and appeared in a two-part episode. Abrams' "Trek" is expected to start shooting this month. It is understood that the movie chronicles the early days of the Enterprise crew. Righteous k*ll: http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/9038/23669ju0.jpg The Champions:Guillermo del Toro will write, direct and produce Champions for United Artists. The movie, based on the 1968-69 British TV series, was about the adventures of a trio of secret government agents whose lives were saved when their plane crashed in the Himalayas and they were rescued by an advanced civilization. The civilization also bestowed them with superhuman abilities. The Tell-Tale Heart:Josh Lucas will star in Tell-Tale to be produced by Tony and Ridley Scott. Michael Cuesta will direct. Inspired by the classic Edgar Allan Poe story "The Tell-Tale Heart", the psychological thriller will star Lucas as a single father whose recently transplanted heart leads him on a frantic search to find the donor's killer before a similar fate befalls him.
